Dream scenario would be for a record breaking number of tackles to get drafted in front of us. Pushes elite D talent down to us, and screws KC in the process. -

What don't you like about Hairston? The guy seems to be only scratching the surface. He has elite speed, and quickness, and has long arms. Also shows he has good instincts, which in my opinion are far more important than a guys forty time or any one measurable. -

Pick 20, would be way too costly, considering we'd be competing with teams chasing a QB. No thank you on that one. I would still like to see a small trade up for either Grant, Harmon or Hairston. -
I asked ChatGPT to Mock Round 1 - and the Bills select…

WOW....haha. Scary stuff for sure. I'm afraid to ask it if I'm a good person. -
Bottom line to me, is that we have to get these evaluations right, to begin with. Next is figuring out the sweet spot to go get them. We need to avoid drafting at the end of a run. If we truly are targeting CB early, there's a group of teams in front of us, that could all go CB. Same could be said for DT.

Return of the Tre! (Tre White signs with the Bills)

There's always that remote chance, that he's closer to his old self vs. Last year's version, being that he finally was able to have a normal offseason. -
Draft as many of these 7 DTs as possible
Allen2Moulds replied to LEBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
One metric that I've always liked, is the breakout year stuff. It makes sense to me that a guy that has a breakout year at 19 or 20 years old, has a little more upside than someone that didn't breakout until they 21 or 22. Like the Jamar Chase's of the world. Those guys seem to transition much better, a d quicker in the NFL. If it took you 4 years to breakout in College, often times, you're out of the NFL by then. Too much pressure on coaches to win right away. -

Id be good with that as well. We desperately need to build a Championship caliber dline. As much as I like the low risk/high reward singing that Bosa was, we can't put all our eggs in the Bosa basket. -

I know he gets bashed a lot on these boards because he has the size to play the run, but is just a situational pass rusher. But the guy has a knack for making big plays at key times. I was on the Grant train, but have shifted over to Team Harmon. I do think Harmon will be gone in that 15-20 range. Dream draft for me, would be a small trade up for Harmon. Use a 4th and a 5th, and than trade back into the bottom of the 1st with our 2 2nds, to draft Amos, or another one of those top corners, before the run begins. -

We should trade for him, just so that Josh can torch him everyday in practice. -

This is my Brian Thomas crush from last year, all over again. Football speed and 40 speed are very different, but........there is a min baseline for speed positions. Such as CB and WR, and it's having a 40 under 4.6. History proves it. The second thing that's a good indicator, is the age breakout year. Gus that breakout at 19 or 20 in college, are typically your high ceiling guys in the NFL -
I don't like any of the choices at 56. This mock, pushes the desire to trade up. In both rounds. I just listened to Marino, and he said both of our 2nds could get us back in the 1st. Imagine leaving the draft with either Grant or Harmon, and Hairston. Todd McShay thinks that Hairston is the 2nd best athlete in the draft, after Travis Hunter. Elite athlete with instincts.
-
If we go CB in the 1st round, we better jump the Rams.
-
Me too. I'm all in on Hairston. As I mentioned in an early comment, I'm starting to feel about Hairston, how I felt about Brian Thomas last year. I also really like Grant. Those are my 2
-
I think Maxwell Hairston could be the best corner in this class. He has the least amount of questions to me. Barron does project better as a slot corner. Sub 30-inch arms. He's this year's Brian Thomas for me. Trade a 4th and go up a few spots to grab him. Don't let another KC situation happen. I think the 2 biggest homerun swings we could take, is with either Kenneth Grant or Maxwell.
-
Funny..as I was reading this, I immediately thought round 5 as well.
-
I don't think he even goes in the 1st round. Especially over Golden and McMillan. If it was me, I would've taken Warren. He's the last blue chipper left. But....the draft is a bit wild and unpredictable at times. That's what makes the draft, and even these mocks so fun.
-
The difference there, is that Myles Garrett is a known 1st ballot HOF. For all we know, any of these draft prospects could be busts, or never live up to their potential. That doesn't mean I agree that Myles was worth 3 1st's, but I was on board with 2, given how late we draft every year. At the end of the day, we just need to do a better job on these early picks. If we go CB, DT, and WR with our 1st 3 picks, and hit, we'll be in great shape. It doesn't have to be in that order. Beane needs to stick with BPA (within reason) and not continue to force his 1st pick.

Wide Receiver Train Full Speed Ahead- CHOO CHOO!
Allen2Moulds replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't disagree with your ranking, but run stuffers are not valued as high as DTs that are better known for their pass rush prowess. For this reason, you can easily see a few guys go ahead of him. -
Who is the best Corner in Bills history?
Allen2Moulds replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall
I have to respectfully disagree. Nate Clements was clearly the number 1 corner, and would draw the WR1 assignments and routinely shut them down or hold them in check. Winfield on the other hand was the biggest pound for pound hitter. Still to this day, there's no undersize player that could hit/tackle like that guy. His son in TB is equally a fan favorite of mine. Another honorable mention, that no one is talking about was Thomas Smith. I always remember the broadcasters saying, no one knows who this guy is, because of the lack interception. Announcers would always say, because QBs never throw his way. -
Wide Receiver Train Full Speed Ahead- CHOO CHOO!

I didn't want to like him, but after watching all these different WR clips, the guy that stood out the most was Bond. It's a reminder that football speed is much more about quickness and acceleration. How fast can you move while also shifting. That being said, I still subscribe to certain baselines. WRs, and corners still need to be sub 4.6 players. There was a beat writer for Texas, who said he was shocked that Golden ran the faster 40. He said when you watch them play, Bond is the one that plays like the 4.2 guy. Watching clips of both, and Bond does look more explosive. To me, he has the elite football speed. I would love it, if we got Bond with our first 2nd rounder, and went defense the rest of the way. Something like this. Rd1. Hairston Rd2. Bond RD3. Tylek Williams. I would be very happy, if our draft went like this.
