A Few Thoughts About the Dolphins Game, in no particular order
CincyBillsFan replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
Was this Allen's best game? No but under the circumstances it was a very good game by the QB. IMO he earned an A-. Of course you can grade him lower if you think that having more then half the offenses starters out of the game at times was no big deal. -

What I don't understand is an expectation of perfection in a sport that is never perfectly played. He missed a pass. It happens. To say he choked is wrong. That Allen was even functioning at that point of the game after the beating he took and the heat he endured was amazing. I think you would have been better served waiting until tomorrow to write your review. Your reviews are normally level headed but your take on Allen is flat out wrong IMO and reflects the heat of the moment. -

Anyone saying that Allen played like trash today is crazy. I'm so sick of the unrealistic and flat out lunatic expectations around Allen. In week one 2 of the best QB's in the NFL (Stafford & Burrow) faced less adversity then Allen faced today and got blown up. Frankly, Allen was outstanding today and the last person on the roster responsible for this loss. -

I disagree. He had both hands on the ball. DB's try to knock it away all the time. But once you have TWO hands on the ball you have to hold onto it. -

I agree. Under the circumstances Allen was phenomenal today. If you want to see what happens to a great QB when under the pressure Allen was today check out the week one games played by Matt Stafford and Joe Burrow. -

Blaming Allen here is 100% wrong IMO. First, there were no "4 easy interceptions" thrown by Allen. I saw three passes that if the DB makes a spectacular play might have been intercepted. Second, Allen made some great throws under all sorts of pressure. Most QB's playing with that O-line today would have been sacked 8 times. Third, if people are going to point fingers at Allen here and IMO it's entirely unwarranted, how abut a dropped TD pass and two dropped passes on the last drive either of which would have put us in FG range. At times the Bills were without HALF of the players who started on Monday night. HALF, including 60% of the O-line and a THIRD STRING CENTER. The only thing worse then this loss are the loons trying to pin the result on Allen. -

Actually Morse went back in for that last Bills TD drive in the 2nd quarter. -

For the LB's the issue appears to be tackling. -

I have never seen a QB throw more INT's that are cancelled by penalty or drops then Mahomes. It really is odd. -
A perfect example of this was the 3rd and 2 play right after the two minute warning. If Mahomes or Allen get to the outside like that it's an automatic first down - either by run or pass. Herbert hesitated on the throw and then fell down.

Last night the Cowboys lost Dak Prescott for 6 - 10 weeks because he hit his hand on a helmet while "safely" in the pocket.
-
Chiefs because they are the only team in the NFL with a QB that can match Allen straight up.

Sunday Night Football: Tampa Bay @ Dallas Game Thread

If a "defenseless" WR was hit in the same way that the Bucs punter just got hit with a helmet to the chest they would throw an unnecessary roughness penalty. NFL rules can be real goofy. -
And you know this how?
-
Not a tough call for me. I would rather have Diggs. At the time we traded for him we needed a WR that would help develop our young super talented QB. Diggs fit the bill perfectly while Jefferson did not.
-
Yes, you let him walk. Or better yet you force him to play out his contract and then use the franchise tag on him. There were real questions about whether Murray was a true franchise QB. But hey, Murray's stats won't look that bad as he piles up the garbage yards against a prevent defense.

Matt Araiza accused of rape, served with a lawsuit.
CincyBillsFan replied to bill8164's topic in Off the Wall
It is odd that so many people, particularly in the media, are declaring Araiza guilty in their reactions to what happened. If he's guilty I hope he rots in jail. But you can't deny the fact that many allegations of rape made in the college environment turn out to be false. And saying this should not bring the wrath of the PC crowd down on someones head. After all the HIGHEST principal here is "innocent until proven guilty". Not the allegation. -
QB Coach Joe Brady; what’s his role with Josh?
CincyBillsFan replied to hemma's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree. Have friends in LSU land and they can't say enough good things about Brady. Sure Burrow landed in his lap but the LSU coaching staff asked the Saints to help them design an offense for Burrow and all those great skill players and Brady was the guy that taught LSU how to use their NFL talent. the result was the most lethal passing attack and offense in the history of college football. Brady may turn out to have a huge positive impact on Allen and the Bills offense. This was a superb hire. -
The Bills won that game by 2 TD's. It was a snowy/windy day which clearly impacted the passing game. Allen did rush the ball 15 times for 81 yards and 2 TD's.

I suspect that Roger will quote the judges language heavily focusing on the "egregious" nature of the acts and then cite the NFL's commitment to bringing women into the fold and state that Watson's actions has damaged the leagues reputation and efforts to meet their key business goal of attracting female fans. He'll then raise the suspension to 12 games with a hefty fine. The NFLPA would have to think long and hard about the optics of challenging that kind of ruling.

I disagree. A couple of points: * Comparing Allen's first 4 years to Mahomes first 4 years is not an apple to apple comparison. KC was a perennial playoff team when Mahomes was inserted into the line-up. The Bills were a long term, perennial loser. The collection of talent around Allen on offense in his first 2 years pales in comparison to what Mahomes had. * Allen established beyond a shadow of doubt this season that he is an elite level performing QB in the playoffs. The failure to win a Super Bowl rests solely on the coaching and the late game defense's performance against KC. * The fact that Mahomes, Brady & Rogers have played in more championship games then Allen is due to their being on stronger teams for a longer period of time. Get back to me in 5 years. * I don't care about those folks 2nd guessing Allen. They're either idiots who know little about the game of football or they're trying to get peoples attention.

Damn, I recognize the music in that video! I'm not to old!
