Burrow, like all top QBs, is a rare gem that is the reason you end up winning more than losing. Rough start for Joe and the Bengals on that massive contract.

That’s one thing I dislike too. Way too conservative in some games. I get it, play field position and trust your defense more than the offense but with the Steelers as of late, they’re rarely in oppositional territory.

Which side are we on?? Our front 4, whoever they are at any point, have to get pressure. I know that’s a constant in every game but Hurts did diabolical in KC when under it. Force them to play ugly in multiple games back to back and I definitely don’t think they come out with the win.

I don’t know how you can’t include Lamar in that case. Especially if Baltimore keep winning. People are still upset with Hurts not getting it last year but if you remove him and put say a Derek Carr, Russell Wilson or some other reasonable vet do Philadelphia lose that many more games? I like Hurts and think he’s talented but he has a pretty solid team from top to bottom. Conversation sure. But there’s more in the mix than just Mahomes and Hurts for Allen to compete with. Heck, you could even make a case for CMC in San Fran.

My point was what he is used for… which is blocking. His receiving is less than anything else he does… Miami and Washington games he had some reasonable useable and made some key blocks. He’s only made one catch this year on one target. So I’m not understanding where your argument is for receiving over blocking… Allen hasn’t gone to him for a reason and it’s been that way for his career here. It’s not what they have him do. Guy has like 10 or 12 catches in his career on no more than 20 targets. He isn’t all of a sudden becoming a receiver. His usage is STs and blocking as a designated full-back. 🤷‍♂️ That was my point. You’re paying him as a special teamer who doubles down as an in-line blocker on offense. I’d rather them pay a special teamer that much $ who has use somewhere else, irrespective of how limited or little that may be.

Agree. Like Benford and think he has more to offer than Dane. However, Jackson is no slouch and has had some fine moments this year when called upon. Just can’t have Poyer or Hyde trying to keep up with these guys they have at WR seeing as they’ll be running a load of 41 personnel. Could be a rough day if we have them isolated on Philly’s options as they all play with great top end speed.

Honestly, thought this was our year… still could be… We played all the NFC teams during the SB losses (Eagles and Cardinals excluded from that era). Beat the Giants, Skins and the Cowboys which leaves Philly as the remainder for that 80s/90s group… Philly are the talk as the best in the league with San Fran… Beat them too, sweep the East, get to the playoffs and see if we have to beat them twice in one season. Would be fitting if we made it and beat Philly again and get a Lombardi over the only remaining NFC East team who didn’t have our number in the big dance.

You think he’s not learning the playbook quickly or it’s a conditioning thing also? Talk in the off-season was how he was once again not in shape for a season which out a couple of suitors on the fence about striking a deal.

Yeah, I’m surprised Sherfield has been non existent. A few of my friends who are Dolphins fans were bummed they didn’t retain him. Thought we’d see more of him. Unfortunately that isn’t the case. Next man up. Well we all ripped Beane and McD for spending all that money on the STs for those years but they only had one blunder during it… Kick Off in the 13 second game at the end. Punting this year is awful and Bass has been up and down. Coverage on punts has been diabolical but that’s a combination of zero hang time on Martin’s boots. Gilliam out of the STers, I give a pass to on the finances though as he does well when he’s in as a blocker so he at least has another use than ST full time.

Torn as to whether or not Caleb Williams will succeed in the NFL. He’s had some really rough games against mediocre teams, has an ego this year that’s above everybody and any situation he said he’ll find himself in; confidence is one thing but his comments have been brazen with no accountability. Overall, going into the draft, it’s a loaded class for QBs. Maye is great at getting the ball downfield but misses some easy throws in the short game, that can be schemed and play called for him to succeed more. Kid is also an awesome runner and seems to dominate there when he does. Penix Jr., very similar to Maye in those regards but seems to process his reads quicker. Daniels is a wild card, dude is a great mobile quarterback who’s shown amazing progression over the past few years. Still a project but has the arm talent to spread the ball anywhere on the field. The rest, I haven’t watched enough football over the past few years to give any opinion. but if I’m taking a QB I’d got for Maye, Daniels, Williams in that order.

Floyd is an absolute animal. Love the play he brought to Buffalo. Hopefully they work something out and bring him back next year but it won’t be as cheap as $7m p/y unfortunately. Either way, he’s been well worth it and come up big in many games and appears to still have a few years left in the tank. Great acquisition!

Wasn’t that bad and looked to be man coverage across the board, just great execution by Bama. Two split left, inside WR pulled the safety helping on top with a deep post to the back of the EZ leaving a one on one for Bonds in the corner. Dart of a throw by Milroe!

They struggled mightily without having that extra guy on the line. Jack Stoll might be a key player again for them. Bills defensive line needs to take advantage and come up big.

Ok. Preseason isn’t that much to go by but Ingram always caught my attention. Certainly more good than bad.

For a city proclaimed the one of “Brotherly Love”, Philly have some of the worst fans ever to be in that parking lot around tailgate time. The year we played them in Philly when they had Bradford our group of 3 was spat at, had beers thrown on us and a constant bombardment of slurs, insults and profanity. That hopefully isn’t always the case but it certainly made that the last time I got to Philly for a game unless it’s a neutral host. Philadelphia as a place is awesome though so I’m sure you’ll enjoy yourself. They have an Irish bar that hosts Bills events, heard great things about them.

Disagree. They’re close but, to me, that 2020 Chiefs (AFC Championship loss) are possibly the best all around team they have played simply down to the QB play from Mahomes. Defense was legit. They had 5 All-Pros and a slew of talent across the roster. Remove the QBs and it’s the Eagles but that’s barely splitting hairs.

Good for Joe trying to prop a player up and give him confidence in just being on the field and a team player. Nice to see!

Nick Bolton is about it really. They’ve had a few guys lost to injury for short amounts of time (1 week or even just half a game) but even then none have been essential to the product on the field. Again, Nick Bolton is about it and he’s expected to be back from that wrist injury toward the end of December….
