Think they thought that some semblance of QB play would have gotten them into the postseason with the way their defense had been playing the years prior to the trade. I’ve tried to find it but can’t come up with results quickly, I’ll do a deeper dive here and see what I can’t get, but I read something at the end of last season where Denver lost 9 games by a single score or less and if they had averaged 24 points a game they would have been in play for the #1 seed come the final two weeks of the year. Granted none of the scoring averages matters cause games always would unfold differently if a play was made where one wasn’t. But I do find it interesting that you trade all these assets for a QB but lose NINE one score games. Let’s say they win 2/3 of those games, that puts them at 11-6. 100% in the playoffs as the #5 seed. Instead… they got Wilson and then trade more assets to acquire Payton to make it work. Might be one of the worst trades in NFL history. Especially when you factor that coaching handcuff. Absolutely bonkers.

Antonio Gates over Willis… that guy is the absolute definition of a HoF player. Gates. Hester. Peppers. Woodson and Willis.

Seahawks made out!

You’re right, I thought we were 4-5 after Denver. Forgot about the Washington blowout. Either way, that isn’t of use to prove my point as the team was still in a slump which is when the head rolling wanted to be done; which partly it was with Dorsey. Calling people crazy during and underwhelming start is completely outlandish, there was some merit to be had for the calling of it. 🤷♂️

Hope he gets some play time to gain confidence, depth in the playoffs is a bonus.
-
That is a wild analogy 😂

Good call. Forgot about Hill; don’t know how.

Crazies? Bit of a reach there bud… Most fans who wanted McD gone was during the team spiraling out of control and being sub .500 as a result of coaching errors and issues. Don’t think that is being crazy when you have a top 3 QB in the league with repeated failures in the playoffs to boot.

Mercedes-Benz Stadium is a nice one for luxuries. Soldier Field or Lambeau for the history and atmosphere and obviously Rich/Ralph for the fans. Did get to go to Lumen Stadium at the tail end of the L.o.B when we played there, that was just as nuts as Bills fans can get. Bob Woods had a game that day!

It means what you said: If Buffalo become the #2 or #3 then the rest doesn’t matter seeing as his stat line isn’t gaudy or historical…. Theres no implying there. Which means if the turnovers are that much of a problem why do they become overlooked because of seeding? They don’t. To the other candidates, that’s what I gave an opinion on… Lamar, CMC and Josh. From where this team was and is, Josh is undoubtedly the MVP of this team with those turnovers. Will that be enough to win the league title? There’s a definite chance for him in that trio. You can’t remove him as a possibility in a “cut and dry” scenario based just on turnovers. It’s the play as a whole and what they do for their team.

Poor little Jets fan! What NFL Christmas present would make you cry?

Ten years from now if that kid is still wearing that Jersey there will be plenty of mothers giving him better presents during the Holidays. Jingle all the way! -
But Buffalo are likely to get the #3 seed… what happens then? His turnovers are a wash then but not if they are a lower seed by that logic… come on bro…

Bills will probably be #3 or #2 seed if they win out
BBFL replied to Giuseppe Tognarelli's topic in The Stadium Wall
Nah. Fields is a good athlete. That’s it. He has a place in the league but I wouldn’t constitute his play these past 3 years as even remotely good if you remove the rushing; hence the athlete part. he’s had a few games here or there where he teases hope but it’s never materialized. Best if they move on with their top 2 picks in the draft. They’ll be able to get a quality project to rebuild around with a guaranteed top 3 pick via Carolina. Ironic. They trade their best players on offense, CMC & Moore; one for the #1 pick and that’s exactly what they’ve wound up giving away… -
Think the MVP is wide open now with Josh/CMC/Lamar as the top three candidates. Crap shoot at best but Purdy and Mahomes have dropped after their past games for sure.

If Miami lose this next game it 100% gets flexed IMO. How could it not with what’s at stake? Maybe Broncos/Raiders or Chiefs/Chargers if KC lose and Denver & Oakland win their games Sunday. Division title on the line for Raiders there as well if those three things unfold. Should be Buffalo/Miami but we will see…
-
That was awesome, thanks for sharing!
-
Wonder if all Josh’s INTs are not his fault with that guy too? To your points, all of them have validity and probably mitigated the final decision to have him sat. Good evaluation!
-
CMC is unreal.
-
100%. But, similar to Buffalo, if you give their offense enough chances they’re going to hit some explosive chunk plays that change the game more often than not. Disciplined football with containment on Lamar is the be-all, end-all. Have to keep him In the pocket IMO. Not because he “isn’t a real passer” like some claim but his throwing motion is low and susceptible to being tipped.

This BMore defense is no joke. I credit it as a pass that they’ve played some bad teams but when I actually get round to watching them live they make plays at all levels of the field. Color me impressed.
-
Maybe so they take a stranglehold on the #1. Let’s say Miami win next week and then beat us meaning Ravens drop 2, that would make Miami the #1… no thanks to that.

Josh Allen now tied with Troy Aikman for career Passing TDs
BBFL replied to Billzgobowlin's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah, flowers for both guys. Definitely the new Manning/Brady competition of this decade. -
If Josh played like this they’re hanging him out to dry on Sports Talk shows the following day… Somehow I feel Mahomes is going to get a pass again and they’ll pin it on him “not having any weapons”.
