  1. Darnold went toe to toe with the Bills QB play, and it looks like Bowles’ HC job is going the way of the Dodo bird...if nothing else our stout D may be scoring this week to keep things more than respectable
  2. Definitely agree with you that they haven’t done him any favors
  3. And yet the OP’s point bears discussion. Are his quotes of the stats of our offensive “stars” actually not offensive?
  4. Yes, seriously. Or did you see something different?
  5. If you can’t or don’t want to have any pride in suiting up for the Buffalo Bills, then find the next Uber out to the airport and take your sad sack attitude with you—and yes, I’m looking at you LeSean. Sitting there doing an even better job of going invisible/evasive on the bench than on the field, I couldn’t help but feel like his foot on the helmet was an incredibly disrespectful signal—kind of like putting them on top of the dinner table, or is it just me? We deserve better, this franchise for whom many players in the past have left it all on the field for win or lose, deserves better, and least of all whatever class you may have left deserves better. C’mon man!
  6. Tell me more about Plan B though because while I can’t rule out the first part, I doubt they had the anti-McBeane candidates locked and loaded at the time of the hire. remember, they went polar opposite of Rexy with this pick, thinking that’s exactly what the team needed. Then in year 1 they get playoffs—absolutely bought in at that point safe to say. Draft QB of future, so now supposed to be on cruise control. Plan B would be made up on the spot, ad hoc and only as the result of the last 7 games left looking even worse, or JA not working out as long term answer.
  7. Still shudder at the 2013 franchise pick made of EJ at #16, which we all knew was a reach but it was slim pickins that year too
  8. Still had to win out against Miami in order for the Ravens result to even matter I feel like we never truly hit rock bottom though during the Drought--always able to "middle through" somehow to a bare amount of respectable mediocrity (which was also stifling at the same time), but this time, it really feels like we are falling fast past that point. Where that winds up for next year and beyond is still anyone's guess.
  9. I guess I could've inserted any other # of names instead, lol. The pressers this week will be interesting.
  10. Bruh--hate to break it to you, but Peterman only Threw3Picks. ? "The beatings will continue until morale improves." Saw that on a t-shirt somewhere--apropos methinks!
  11. Now that's an original take. Known commodity despite the TO's is almost crazy to say, but yes, I see where that could be. And he is cutting down the INT's that are solely his own fault, so McD is probably thrilled to see that on the tape as well. But if they make a serious run at Bradford, then I don't know how you keep him, even if Bradford is barely more resilient at this point than DA.
  12. See?? I always thought you were a little too negative. ?
  13. Shady: "Maybe if I lose this helmet under the bench while the fat guy is covering me, I won't have to sub in for Ivory anymore."
  14. Exactly. Story of the Drought, redux. Never quite as bad as say, the Browns, but never breaking into the upper crust of perennial playoff contenders either--Fitzy = a run of great 4-5 games that have you wondering what Sully could ever find negative to write about, only to wind up looking like the fish out of water Harvard athlete that he is, gasping for air just short of the playoff finish line. At least the Bills swung for the fences with JA.
  15. Answer: (1) not enough QB bodies on the current roster healthy enough, or (2) up to speed enough to make him fall off the roster as of yet. I have little doubt he will still be cut this year, but McBeane have to stockpile enough dumpster dive backups first. Bradford could be next man up, and in that case I think NP will be gone. Sometimes, the easiest explanation is the furthest you have to look.
  16. Totally didn't see this thread coming. Problem is that it will only take about that same second for DA to jump right back into concussion protocol. Have you seen our line when faced with the prospect of protecting for an immovable object?
  17. Nope! Count me in on that fan group. He throws a mean pick-6 himself, but without the common decency/courtesy of at least producing a TD drive somewhere along the way, which is at least something Peterman can lay claim to from the Houston game and today, sandwiched around DA's forgettable run. Again, I realize we are grading out differing levels of the same stink, but I feel the need to get technical after games like we've been suffering through lately.
  18. Allen close to throwing is still Allen not yet throwing, to say nothing of when he will actually hit the playing field again after that. Anderson coming back is like saying the light bulb that went out came back on after I jiggled it, but it could go out again any moment since I didn't actually replace it with a new one. He's pretty much a porcelain serving dish, and our line can protect him from hits maybe 60% of the time? Barkley is another body, you're right, but without knowing what they will see yet from him, I doubt the Bills will be in a mood to lighten the QB room any more than necessary through injuries alone. Short answer, no, he does not get cut tomorrow.
  19. "I usually never open up about my situation in Buffalo..." For good reason EJ. Let's keep it that way. For those of you scoring at home, EJ's still the only QB to ever lose an NFL game in 4 different countries, BTW.
  20. He's on life # 5 of 9 by my unofficial count, so he probably won't be cut tomorrow--plus the Bills still literally don't have enough warm QB bodies to throw to the wolves, so he will remain by default, IMHO. I wonder how close the staff was to inserting Barkley before NP's late TD drive?
  21. I'll concede that as a placeholder type player, TT would be better than what's been trotted out behind JA so far this year. But does any of that really matter if JA becomes the franchise player he was drafted to be, and the Bills wind up with even more draft capital than at first expected given this trainwreck of a season, meaning there is also a better chance that some of that can be turned into quality playmakers to surround JA with for 2019 and beyond?
  22. During the good 'ol days of the SB years, I was always shocked if the Bills would ever lose a game in the regular season--expecting to win and expecting something bad to always happen to the other guys during the game was a big part of that team's mystique. Now I watch expecting something bad to happen to our O, and shocked if we make it through one quarter without a shoe dropping along the way. Anyone else remember the NFL Films' cut up of the original expansion Buccaneers' teams (with the old school white/yellowish trim unis and respectable buccaneer logo) set to a carnival type soundtrack backing up clips of the blooper reels? Never will forget the one with their kicker completely missing the ball and then trying to fall on it or throw it, one or the other, before being smothered by whoever...anyway, now we are that blooper reel on O, and it feels like we need a rebuild from our rebuild! I'm still muddling through with "the process," but only because I know that this QB carousel of misfits was never the plan going in, and JA has such incredible upside that could turn this franchise's fortunes around in a hurry. Quite a detour in the meantime however!
  23. I like where your head's at, but in all seriousness, if this year is all about the development of JA (provided he can get back on the field), then I want the kid's confidence to be where it needs to be, and earning a couple W's along the way through some timely plays off of his arm, would be good in that regard--especially if we get another 4th Q comeback or two, to go along with a solid blowout statement win? We need this kid to come through something fierce--and hopefully he's learning firsthand how NOT to play QB from the motley crew manning the position since he went down, "mentor" included. Trust your instincts JA, they're probably better than Daboll's chicken scratch notepad at this point.
  24. McCoy's last 24 rushes = 24 yards, while Ivory has been averaging over 5YPC during the same stretch. We all know from the eyeball test that McCoy is not our best RB right now (no matter the why), and heaven help us if Ivory is also lost for any extended period of time. While Ivory was busy showing heart, McCoy has welched on even showing his face this week and ducks out again today before any questions can be tossed his way. Say what you will about NP, but he stood at the lectern and answered every question like a man. Today, McCoy did zero again to help out his QB, and honestly I'm not sure what on earth Brandon was smoking when he said McCoy is absolutely a vital part of this team's 2019 plans. Hopefully that changes at this rate.
  25. I think anyone at TBD participating in this is doing it for the right reasons, and not to get attention, at least I would hope. I said take a bow as part of the discussion on this thread in order to make a point that it’s something we as Bills fans can be proud of being a part of. Bit of bright news sandwiched between the dreary slog this season and much of the discussion around here has become of late. Sorry for any misunderstanding there klos63.
