  1. I do. You don’t think young Hoodie would’ve been able to adjust his D accordingly? Thanks for the admission. I’ve never met him or his family, so you have me at a disadvantage sir! And then you can safely leave Jim out of this discussion, right? ?
  2. Sure it’s a different era. But his takes are informed by an actual knowledge base that most posters here would lack. I’d like to think however, that most people who appreciate our alums are also sophisticated enough to understand the difference between a current FO employee and someone just offering up an opinion, even if that someone happens to be an NFL vet. I don’t read anything more into Reed’s take than that he has a certain level of frustration and he happened to air it publicly this time. He’s human like anyone else who maybe should’ve taken a breath before pressing “send.” No need to bash him for it personally however. He’s earned at least that much respect from all of us here, no?
  3. McD has gone out of his way several times to include 90’s alums in practice speeches, has had dinners with them to pick their brains, and all around has praised them umpteen times for what they’ve done for the Bills. That’s been reciprocated by many of the albums as well about the current coaching staff. What’s the problem here exactly?
  4. Since when does appreciating the past equate to “living” in it? Sure I’d love to have my teen years back from the 90’s too, but I’m doing just fine in my 40’s now, thank you very much. Tradition, appreciation and expecting a certain level of competency based on previously hit high water marks? What’s wrong with that?
  5. Yes, we agree. However, it is what it is, and what it is is still mighty special in my book, regardless of the last game. No one can take that away from us. How we got to each of those SB’s was awesome each time.
  6. Nothing much surprises me anymore on social media, including TBD. But yes, a new low.
  7. Many would argue that getting off the mat each time to come back is no small feat in and of itself. Not even the GOAT has ever won 4 straight AFC crowns, or even 3 for that matter. That’s a tough spine that basically all of our teams since that generation could only hope to emulate and never even came close. Once this franchise gives us more than the 90’s, I’ll be the first to change my avatar, promise! I love JA, go back to my posts gushing about the kid, and am solidly on team McD bro, no one can say otherwise. But to just throw away our past that we can justifiably take pride in? Never.
  8. C’mon Joe, I agree with a lot of your takes, but this is just not right. This franchise still stands on top of many shoulders that gave their all for this team in previous generations...don’t kick sand at them now.
  9. Ummm....because we’ve had what exactly to celebrate in terms of postseason since then? Also, I would dispute the no allegiance take—Andre is invested in the Bills, what would tell you that he doesn’t care about them?
  10. Who are these ‘some people,’ and how do they ‘march around’ exactly?
  11. Would be curious what this would show if done at the end of the season, given JA’s finishing stretch. But, since it’s a snapshot of opinions coinciding with the tail end of our mid-season swoon of epic proportions, and thus out of date, I’ll happily move on?.
  12. Thanks for sharing—highlight reels get so much more important during the long off-season! Can’t wait for training camp with right Josh as the unquestioned starter and getting all of the 1st team reps this time.
  13. So why did 9 other FO’s pass on this once in a generational talent? If college TD’s is the sole measuring stick, then NFL draft order picks should be easy!
  14. Of course, that's all relative--or was that the point? I used to think anyone past their 20's was ancient news, and now I just passed by the big 40, and am making up reasons everyday why I'm still a young whippersnapper. Of course, getting out of bed in the morning reminds me exactly of why I'm not. Anyone else here have foot pain for like the first 10 minutes?
  15. I think it's probably based on more than just being an ex-part of the drought coaching tree here. Bountygate (as others have already mentioned) and reports of his being an unmitigated personality fail come to mind as well. But I readily admit I never met the guy personally so the last part is hearsay only.
  16. Great link again Yolo. I absolutely would not want to sign either of these guys to a monster deal. Are they better than what we've trotted out for much of the year outside of Allen? Sure. But that's not the question. Just good enough to avoid a straight up QB housecleaning, but most certainly not good enough to take you to the promised land on their shoulders, which is the ultimate goal (or should be) of any FO. Would you also add someone like Matthew Stafford to this mix?
  17. @dollars 2 donuts, again, if it were within my power to bestow both a "haha" and a Lombardi trophy, I would do it. Congrats, post of the day!
  18. As would any other franchise in the league too, right? Again, not a true comparison though, since they were drafted in different years. Let's see, the Bills picked Tony Hunter (who?), a TE from Notre Dame with the #12 pick in the 1983 draft, and drafted Jim Kelly #14. With the benefit of hindsight, maybe the Bills would've snapped Jimbo up at #12 first, to ensure that the Lions, or anyone trading picks with the Lions at #13, couldn't grab him? Or should we also rehash Tom Brady's infamous slide down the draft boards, making every single team in the league look silly, including the Pats, until they took a flyer on him towards the end of the draft? Isn't that an even more egregious example than Mahomes?
  19. Well, considering that Mahomes and Allen weren't even in the same draft and the Bills could not have come even close to completing their pre-draft evaluation work on Allen, it's not an either Mahomes or Allen question straight up, right? The premise/byline of the article becomes somewhat misleading then, no? And what is the point of bashing the Bills on this one when how many other franchises similarly passed on Mahomes before KC?
  20. Now we'll see how much Mayock matters? Opposite take on Rosen by him than Gruden.
  21. And also the Raiders now that Mayock is on board? He could not have possibly drooled any more after Rosen going into the draft if he'd tried: https://draftwire.usatoday.com/2018/03/17/mike-mayock-raves-about-josh-rosen-after-impressive-pro-day/ https://www.ajc.com/sports/college/mike-mayock-josh-rosen-the-most-natural-thrower-this-year-class/s21BvEWpf382mkJqnLXoGK/
  22. Thanks for digging into the numbers weeds on this. Winston is a reclamation project who at times lost his job to a journeyman backup. I like Arians, but at his age and given what he has to work with, not sure this was the best coaching renaissance opportunity for him.
  23. Thanks @YoloinOhio, great link. This should tide me over for at least through this weekend having to watch other teams play. . The future is looking bright IMHO!!!
  24. I’d only hire Rex if he promised to bring brother St. Nick with him to help with his innovative 46 D. ??
