I'm not quite sure how the Bills futility is anything other than failed HC's, players, etc. It doesn't have anything to do with the difficulty or ease of winning in the league. It's easier to win a playoff game than it is to go 17 years without a playoff appearance. The drought is actually pretty remarkable in that you really have to screw the pooch MULTIPLE times to accomplish that kind of failure. We shouldn't base our expectations on one of the most futile periods in history for an NFL franchise IMO. Let's just hope we have the right guys in place. The proof will be in the pudding.

With Singletary, Gore and Yeldon, those numbers are not going to happen. Zero chance. I think most fans realize he has little to no trade value and don't mind seeing what he has left in the tank.
-
I'd hate to see Singletary rocking 46-48. Seems like the number of a FB.

You seem to pretty upset about either the playcall or an officiating issue for a meaningless game. Now that's a fan.

I think a 7th for Julio would get it done. Not willing to part with a 6th. Then you swap Spain for Quinten Nelson. The Colts are trying to accumulate the most cap space and don't want to have to pay Nelson in 2023. Spain offers a cheap alternative.

PanchoBilla enters Hospice (Has now passed away)

According to the article I read, he became a Bills fan during those SB years AGAINST the Cowboys. Kind of strange being from Texas. Maybe he's just one of those guys that aligns with the underdog. -
Definitely agree in the grand scheme of things. People wanted to move Glenn because we needed an unnamed "natural" LT. I actually think we've had "relative" stability at the position. You give Dawkins every chance in the world to win the job. Magical LT's don't grow on trees. I think if they didn't believe Dawkins was the LT going forward, they wouldn't have drafted a guy projected to play RT early in the 2nd round.

TBN: Way-too-early 53-man roster projection

I don't see them keeping Roberts if they're not gonna carry 6 WR's. That makes no sense. You are essentially carrying 4 WR's. -
RD 5, Pick 147: LB Vosean Joseph, University of Florida
LSHMEAB replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed. I think we tend to overvalue size. There are limitations(can't play LB at 190 pounds) but simply being 6-3 250 doesn't make a guy an effective football player. Joseph is 6-1 226. Zo is the same height and about 20 pounds heavier. I think Joseph can put on 10 pounds of MUSCLE, but it's his motor that makes him a really interesting prospect. I think he's gonna fit in perfectly at Zo's spot and he'll have a season to add SOME bulk. -
That would indicate that he didn't want to retire per se, but saw the writing on the wall. Now he's in a position to sit back and see if the Raiders come calling. As someone else said, he LOVES the game of football. Whatever you think of him as a person, nobody lays it on the line like BeastMode.

Lawson's 5th yr option ($9.451M) declined & Ziggy update

That's a risk I'd be willing to take. That 9 sack season in 2016 got Murphy paid. I don't see Shaq getting more than 5...like ever. DE's that can't get to the QB don't get paid. Wouldn't be shocked if the Bills signed Shaq to a modest contract after this season. Something in the 4-5 mil/Jordan Phillips range. Like Phillips, Shaq is a quality BACKUP. They still need a stud. -
RD 6, Pick 181: S Jaquan Johnson, University of Miami
LSHMEAB replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Every team was gonna need a Mark Barron like hybrid! Remember that line of thinking well. Safeties are no more or less important in today's game. Solid coverage skills are now MANDATORY and run support is somewhat de-emphasised, but their import is the same. -
The Competition for WR6 on the Bills Roster
LSHMEAB replied to Phil The Thrill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
See those 10 rushes for 66 yards and 2 TD's? IIRC, the majority of those yards came in the last few games. I think Daboll would love to expand on that and also get him the ball in the flat. The guy can be a weapon. -
How do you feel about the Bills right now in 2019?
LSHMEAB replied to Another Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Brendan? You're thinking of School Ties. I think the OL is solid but the weapons are still slightly below average. The defense is set although I'd like to see them add a pass rusher. Josh's development will be the difference between 8 wins and 10. "Hope is a dangerous thing." We need a rock hammer! -
Tom Brady's last hurrah was 2018/ 2019. His velocity is nearing Peterman territory. BB is gonna devise some ingenious gameplans like the one against the Bills that had Patterson rushing for 20 yards a pop, but they won't be able to hide Brady. There is no longer a juggernaut standing in the way of the Bills and success. The way he was mustering up the strength to complete routine passes in the playoffs was AMAZING. Like an aging closer giving everything he has to hit 90. Because of his will, he found a way. When closers finally lose their arm, it gets very, very ugly.

I'm starting to think that you are not a fan of DK Metcalf. I wonder if Johnson not wanting to play for the Bills has anything to do with Mack. Either way, I don't think he's going to be a difference maker in the NFL. Next.
-
Maybe we need to bring in Steve Smith as an offensive consultant with one responsibility; Yelling "Don't throw the ball so hard" throughout the season. He's got the 102 MPH fastball. His future is going to be determined by his ability to develop a change-up.

Totally agree, especially when you consider that it can take time for QB's and WR's to learn each others nuances, tendencies etc. Allen and Foster worked together tirelessly to try to get this right and it payed off. But as effective as Foster was at the end of the year, they still probably don't have everything down. In a perfect world, Ford would have made it to 40 and we would have traded back into the 2nd to take a Parris Campbell, for instance. Not particularly happy with the next year scenario when it comes to potential #1 receiver.

Not to be insensitive, but is money really going to help at this point? Seems to me that he is in the best possible place given the circumstances and it's now in "God's" hands. -
[Vague Title] Just watched NFL Today on ESPN
LSHMEAB replied to TC in St. Louis's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yep!! There is one way to force them to begrudgingly talk about the Bills and that is by winning in a big way. I used to get worked up about this stuff until I realized how insignificant it was. I remember one year where the Lions and Bills were both 4-0; people were jokingly lamenting a Lions Bills Superbowl. What that Bills team lacked was a star QB. It was Trentative. If Josh Allen is the real deal, the Bills become a fascinating team. Same thing with the Chiefs. -
What that tells me about scheme and fit, more than anything, is that Ford is viewed as a guy who will dominate in the run game when the defender is on their heels and hold up well when the edge defender can't fully commit. He's not really built to be an elite pass blocker, but a heavy PA scheme doesn't require that. A perfect fit at RT.
