The Impeachment Trial of President Donald J. Trump
LSHMEAB replied to Nanker's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
This reads like a Mike Pence op-ed circa 1999 and methinks this post would have gone over pretty well. Whole political landscape has been turned upside down. For the record, I don't care about Trump's character (although I think he's a...less than terrific human being) nor did I care about Bill Clinton's character. I care about the legislation a President signs off on or vetoes and that's about it. But the paradigm shift on the part of the GOP is pretty astounding. -
Any way that Christian Wade can play in the playoffs?
LSHMEAB replied to Mister Defense's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A bit off topic, but I really think it's time for the staff to can the Gore "leadership" stuff and give Yeldon some run. At this moment in time, Yeldon brings more to the table than Gore. Could very well be a dicey situation in which they don't want to "humiliate" a player with Gore's track record, but winning is first and foremost. Wade won't be relevant until August 2020. -
I still have many lingering doubts about Allen, but his upside is far greater than Darnold or Mayfield. I'd take him second behind Jackson. Lamar Jackson is an amazing player, but I'm not entirely sure his style of play is sustainable LONG LONG term. We shall see. It's possible this class goes down as the most overrated of all time. Only Allen can change that IMO because I don't see great things from Darnold/Mayfield/Rosen. I'd prefer to see Josh emerge into the company of Mahomes, Brees, Brady, Rodgers, Wilson etc. than compare him to this particular class.

The entire post is outstanding, and this would theoretically be the correct approach. The only issue is that Daboll's screen game is awful, we don't have springers(outside of Singletary...sort of) and JA is generally off target to open games whether it be the long ball or the short game. So while I agree with the premise for various reasons you stated, I don't know that it's gonna work right here, right now. There are always plays to be made against a zero blitz and high percentage throws certainly makes sense under these particular circumstances. As far as Daboll is concerned, very telling comments. He's essentially hanging him out to dry(big time.) This was a clear insult and the equivalent of "not my fault." In addition, his comments regarding self scouting and other issue are telling. He's saying he's not going to alter his game plan based on his players strengths and weaknesses. That seems...stupid.

Really?? You know I appreciate your posts and this is all rec time for me, but the "right" has the number 1 cable news network(by a large margin) as well as prominent voices like Ben Shapiro(brilliant guy) and Candace Owens(vapid opportunist) all over Twitter talking about the issues du jour. Very little, if any talk about the deficit. You may be underestimating the import of SOCIAL "media" in terms of where news is consumed. I suppose the tax cuts will pay for themselves and we'll all get sick of winning, but still. What if that doesn't happen? Gotta have a thorough debate about this issue at some point because it's not sustainable.

Totally weaponized the families for an opportunity to grandstand, but that's just the way it goes. Off topic a bit, but the impeach Obama thing made me wonder what happened to the Tea Party. That whole thing seemed to magically disappear. While taxes were indeed cut, they were also very "interested" in fiscal responsibility. Deficit is spiraling out of control and not a peep. I think we all know the next step is the slashing of entitlements, but I'm also quite sure that won't be mentioned on the campaign trail. I always respected Paul Ryan even while I vehemently oppose his Any Rand approach to government. He didn't tippy toe around the issue and create the facade that you could slash taxes WITHOUT slashing entitlements/government spending. Straight shooter.

Agreed. The fact that he mentions "jitters" further solidifies my opinion that a great deal of the accuracy issues are psychological. He's a really bright guy, and it appears as though he's "thinking" instead of "playing" when he's off. If he's going to take that next step, he needs to CONSISTENTLY play and not think. We saw it for a three game stretch so it's attainable. We'll see what happens. If he can't shake it, he could very well stall in his progression or only slightly improve. Didn't like Daboll or his track record coming in and I like him even less now that we've seen both poor play calls AND scolding a QB for a mistake when he's at his best NOT thinking about mistakes. He knew it was a poor throw/decision. What's the point of berating him for it? Absolutely the WRONG approach when it comes to Allen. All that said, he's gotta figure this out somehow. In all likelihood, there isn't gonna be a third coordinator in McDermott's fourth year, so they need to co-exist. I remember earlier in the season he was doing some kind of hand gesture that had nothing to do with signaling a play call, celebration, etc. It was like a wave type of movement that seemed to be a relaxation "exercise." Not sure why it stopped, but my hope is that with experience, he'll realize that mistakes are going to happen. Shorten that memory and let the chips fall where they may on any given pass.

Yeah. Slightly different because it had nothing to do with (perceived) political gain, but meh. None of it sways me. TBH, I read a bit regarding the the innuendo about Trump/Russia/Ukraine and I read a bit regarding Fast and Furious/Iran Deal/Benghazi and I see two sides of the same coin. It'd be awesome if this country was actually talking about policy matters.

Yeah. 8 second left. Game on the line. Turn to Bojo to make a play in the passing game. What could possibly go wrong?

When Was the Last Time Bills Could Rest Starters?
LSHMEAB replied to Gugny's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Definitely the 1999 Rob Johnson game if we're talking about a situation in which the Bills had secured a playoff spot/seed and the outcome didn't matter. Although the outcome of that game ended up having pretty big ramifications. -
I'd like to see a hard push for Yannick and go WR in the draft. Shaq is having a nice season, but Ngakoue is a force. He's consistently disruptive. He forces fumbles. AND he's been doing it since day 1 of his career. I think Chris Kelsay is a better comparison for Shaq. He's better than Kelsay, but not by THAT much. Schobel gets a bad rap, so I'm gonna disagree with that comp. At any rate, they need "that guy" up front that opponents have to game plan around. Hopefully Oliver emerges as that guy on the interior, but that edge player does not exist on the current roster.

Nobody was good defensively, so it's "puzzling" to single out Milano. Biggest issue from my perspective was the lack of pressure. Yes, Brady was operating that short passing game to perfection and Frazier was thoroughly outcoached, but nobody in the front 7 got so much as within a couple feet of Brady. I've watched several Pats games recently, and that OL has been getting beat up front with regularity. Not even with the blitz. Just guys winning individual matchups and forcing Brady into mistakes, throwaways, SACKS, etc. Where in the world was the pressure? The whole front 7 played poorly and McD/Frazier got outcoached. Very simple.

You cited quite a few "impeachable offenses" committed by the Obama administration, but this one? Yeah. No. If the Iran Nuke deal is impeachable/wrong, then so is putting Lil' Rocket Man on the world stage. Multiple countries involved, so that's just weak. As far as the FISA abuse, I'd say it's high time for Bill Barr to get crackin'. Conservatives have the courts. Got the AG. Got the White House. Barr would have to derelict in his duty to allow these "crimes" to go unpunished, right?

This is all true, so the premise of the thread is flawed. But all the talent in the world wouldn't have had any effect on some of the awful throws we saw today. As you said, the decisions around Allen won't come until year 4/5. He's got a lot of positives, so he's not going to bust. But man. The frequency of those errant passes today was alarming.

The miss in the end zone on the final possession was a killer. I just don't know right now. Wildly inaccurate far too often, and I don't know the answer. He's gonna be around. He's actually not boom or bust because he's gonna do "enough." But I have some real doubts about whether he'll be able to take that next step at this moment.

Circle the Bandwagons. Who is hopping on?

I was on the fence. Been "observing" every Bills play since I was 9, but this this thread has me fully on board. Just needed that nudge. -
When it comes to radio or entertainment, it makes absolutely no difference whether you love or hate the host/entertainer. The only thing that matters is that you listen. Have never heard his show, but based on what I've read on this board, fans listen to get worked up. Again, doesn't matter as long as you're listening.
