I prefer and offense that wants to use the tightend as a weapon in the passing game, not as a blocker. Lee is a much better blocker than O’Leary so he can be used when the situation arises.

6 months to fix seems like its not enough time but I do think the coaching at Wyoming wasn’t up to snuff to correct his issues. Obviously, they are coaching there for a reason and these little details could be missed by lesser talented coaches. Especially since JA was so physically gifted. Darnold when in rythm is dangerous, he gets it out quick. However, when he holds the ball, it seems like he does know what to really do, especially when pressured. He’s made some nice runs this preseason when pressure but haven’t seen the wow throw. When decisive with the ball, he could be the next garapallo, if not it looks like a Pennington clone. Hell Trent looked good until defenses squated on those short throws and was pitied after that. Just to be clear Darnold is 100 times the prospect of Trent

I agree, have no idea who people are saying Rosen looked impressive. No wow throughs and looked flustered under pressure. I was a huge Rosen fan presdraft. Though what I’ve been reading and seeing since OTAs makes me think we made the right call. It should since people and a lot of them have formed opinions about since the draft.

Rosen was my guy all pedraft I was upset we took Allen over him. However when we did I said I would give Allen time and have his back. He hasn’t let me down yet. So far through the mini camp, training camp and first game I can see why Mcbeane took Allen over Rosen. Watched all his throws again and stand by my statement. His Ball placement wasn’t good. Should of had pick 6 on one (which simiar to some of his ints at UCLA) had a completion in the intermediate range where the ball was at his foot. If he lead him better would of been a huge play. The another vertical pass into two defenders and hit one defender on the should. On top of that, the dude needs a clean pocket, he really can’t make something out of nothing

He’s ball placement has been a concern all training camp and it showed it again yesterday. Hence the 6 of 13. I was all for Rosen pre draft watched a ton of games but his first game did not impress. Anyone who thinks he did is just trying to justify there agenda

Rosen reminded more of Trent Edwards than Tom Brady. Good foot work but bad ball placement and may not be able to make all the throws Well everyone else is there bucko so might as well make it official, right?

The OP never mentioned Allen inaccuaracy was due to poor protection (which Allen had). The post is relevant and as of now, the scoreboard is Allen 1 and Rosen 0

Boller and Allen shouldn’t even be in the same breathe. Allenn has some accuracy issues boller was just flat out innaccuarte. It took Boller to his senior year to complete over 50% of his passes and never passed for more than 2800 yards. This was in a tedford offense that is qb friendly.
