Harrison Phillips already standing out
Soda Popinski replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think that Frasier will have to scheme around having a rookie MLB in order to cover how green he is. I think you'll see his coverage duties being assisted by Poyer in certain situations. He'll get help. -

I don't know who he had around him either as a supporting cast, he should do better in a rotation with very good player around him as well. It's not all on him. -

Pressure up front, ballhawks on the back, and a 6'5 255lb MLB who runs a 4.5 40. -
For chores no, but when it's time to vacation I do a punch list before I take the boat down to Marathon. All foods i'm bringing (I like to eat out maybe once for breakfast and once for dinner the rest of the time I'm eating what i bring and catch) All booze/beer/sodas check lists for the boat/motor/trailer/fishing gear check list for the snorkels, dive flag, radio, batteries, phone chargers, sun screen, I like to make sure that the day I pull out and head on vacation I have everything I need for a great time. The last thing I want is to be stuck on the side of the road with a flat or a breakdown or go stand in line at the grocery store instead of drinking beer at the sand bar or catching fish.

As a rule Bills fans always announce themselves. They may not call ahead, but you'll know when the get there. Jacksonville knew they were there for the playoff game. Drank that town DRY!

Mean? That is not something they should be concerned with. Someone made reservations without telling the inkeeper. Or at the VERY least showing up with a very nice bottle of wine and big sad eyes as they asked to stay. you don't show up unnanounced looking for a place to stay, and you don't show up empty handed and you DAMN sure don't show up with an empty stomach after not abiding by rule 1 and 2.

Why did they come? Is there a theme park nearby? Is there a beach they like to go to? This doesn't seem in any kind of way normal. EDIT: Ok I read the reasoning but still? they were vacationing in the area? So they planned a vacation around your family putting them up for free room and board? With zero notice? That's ballsy.

Very similar to this offseason. Murphy and Star brought in to fill specific needs and Davis. 3 starters on defense is not a bad offseason from a FA perspective. then to draft Phillips and Edmunds giving us another starter and rotational DT, then add on we got Kyle to stick around a year he didn't plan to. Next offseason, probably look a little bit at the oline and maybe a playmaker, but no way do i see them plunking down anything like what Mario Williams got to come here.

When I was in middle school i'd have ***** a snake if you held it's mouth open so I guess I understand. -
Large crowds kill me. I've walked into the grocery store and then walked right back out. But last week we were school shopping for the boy and I said lets go down to 192 in Kissimmee (the touristy part of town by Disney) place was jam packed with people from all over the world, no manners, crawling all over each other. But I was fine. My son was dying to get out of there though so we left. If I'm mentally prepared for the chit show it's ok, but if it takes me off guard, i get antsy and want to get lost.

Whats the worst car problem you ever had
Soda Popinski replied to Ice bowl 67's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I had an 84 olds delta 88 that i got from a family member. Was drunk, was speeding, spun it around at least 3 times at 1am on a back road, and didn't hit anything. I could not believe it, i still can't. You are 100% right. God looks after the stupid ones...most of the time. But we live and we learn. -

Glad you weren't killed, that could have ended much worse than 13k. The WRX was a cool car back in the day. I always loved the Baja too. Looked like someone put an avalanche in the dryer for too long. -

was on my way to an outback to pick up some crap on labor day weekend that my POS supervisor sent me for on my day off, should have told him to go eff himself but I was young and dumb. I am getting off the interstate and the timing belt snaps, it was a 95 for Contour and that was the first of many problems to come, biggest POS I ever owned I hated that car and I'll hate it forever. Anyway I coast off to the side of the road, steering locks up so i can't coast all the way over, so now i'm halfway in the turning lane, i go to get out and pop the hood, and as i shut the door the lock clicks on me, locking my keys in the car. it's starting to rain. this is 2001 I had my wifes cell phone with me and i called her at her parents house at a BBQ I was supposed to be at, she fires up the trans am to come get me but it takes 2 hours to get there it's raining, i'm fuming pissed. Tow truck happens by, helps me get the door open, offers to tow me. Cool, to the Ford dealership right? No I've got a buddy mechanic who can get you fixed up in a jiffy. uhhhh, ok. Long story short, he can't fix it, i lose two days staying at my brothers house with no car, it ends up at Pep Boys (without my knowing until it's there) I don't pay shadetree idiot a dime, then pep boys says it's fixed, i go to leave and get almost home, it starts chitting the bed again so I take it finally to the ford dealer who has the special tool you need to fix this hunk of hell. 700 bucks later it's fixed, I get my $300 back from pep boys because they didn't fix it. 1 year later we go to trade it in, it's overheating so bad i pull the thermostat but it pegs redline anyway. We literally coast into a Saturn dealership to look at a SUV the wife likes, and i tell her before getting out of the car "if you don't like this SUV find something you do like, cause this thing isn't making it home". Turns out the car she liked was already sold. frickin frickity frick. But hey, what's that jeep liberty up on the thing there? That's a 2002 (1 year old) with 10k miles on it. Oh yeah? How much? 12k. Take her down we're goin for a test drive. She loved that liberty, we took it home for something like 180 a month and everybody happy happy. -
She's a couple years older. But I'm really mature for my age

I used to but got away from it about 5 years ago. Just too much else going on, I'd like to get back to it but don't even know where to begin anymore.

A Question About Friends Screening Calls
Soda Popinski replied to Gugny's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I only answer the phone if it's a sibling or parent. text me otherwise. I did exclude the wife there. She always sends that "I'm out of work" feeler text, if i respond right away she calls me. if not she knows i'm doing something around the house. -
Happy Birthday!

I think they will stick to the plan of drafting and developing talent and going after moderately priced free agents and bringing in guys to compete. I do think next year we extend Benjamin and probably someone else maybe Shady. But I don't see us spending the way Whaley spent.

We really haven't gone after any names, and the names we do have we have dumped.
