[Vague Title] Would you rather.....
Soda Popinski replied to Buff76ers's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Eagles perfectly support my point, they didn't lose out, they moved up for their guy. The Falcons were bad, they didn't intentionally tank for Ryan they just took him and built a team around him, no one accused them of tanking a season. -

all they do is lose so yea, i agree. Winning is the exact opposite and that's what I want this team to do. The Eagles went from 7-9 to winning the super bowl it's possible with the right people in place and the right team culture. McDermott is building the right culture IMO. I also don't get why we would need a high draft pick with 10 draft picks and 65 million in cap space, if you can't use those resources to finish this roster, then we need a lot more help than one draft pick. -

There will always be people who are jealous of all those 1st overall picks Cleveland has had over the last few years. They think Cleveland is the model for building sustained success in the NFL, could not be more misguided. Look at the Patriots, did they ever lose out? EVER? Or the Eagles? Did they ever lose out and get the 1st overall pick? EVER? Did the Falcons? How many teams that have played in a super bowl in the past 20 years have tanked a season? zero. nada. none. But some do not understand the game, so they see the 1st overall pick as something that is going to change an entire 53 man roster/culture into a winning one and of course it never does. Indy got close with Luck, but did they play in the super bowl with him yet? Nope. They did not. And it's been years, more than enough. -

What’s on the menu for the 1st NFL Sunday?
Soda Popinski replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bloody marys and we might do an antipasta platter, we've done them before, salami, prosciutto, olives stuffed with bleu cheese, shrimp cocktail, cheese, boiled eggs, etc. That's always a fun meal for Sundays. if the weather is good though, we'll put the TV out by the pool, and i'll grill something while I float around drinking Octoberfests. -
There are more than a couple microbrewers out there that were stock brokers 2-5 years ago and have no knowledge whatsoever about brewing beer. They got a home brewing kit for Christmas and decided it was for them. i've had beers that tasted like dish soap from micro breweries that had no clue what they were doing. There is more than enough random ingredient dumping going on in the market.

Nothing good happens after 11pm There is no such thing as a free lunch Don't get frustrated get motivated (told my son this last week when he got benched) if it's worth doing it's worth doing right.

I've got some left over st louis style pork ribs from Saturday that tonight are going to be cut up, fried, and doused in wing sauce. I don't know why more people are not eating ribs with wing sauce seems like a no brainer
-
Never had wings in Buffalo from any of the local places, so I guess I have no basis for comparison other than my own. most places where I live fry them fine, but then they sauce them right away, instead of letting the steam rise off of them and the sauce traps that which makes the skin soggy. It takes someone who knows wings to double fry them and then let them sit in the fry basket for a few minutes and let them air out before saucing.

I've only drank Bud light when it was on sale and i was financially strapped. Not to say I won't drink it but it's not my preferred beer at an open bar. But I'll throw $3.95 up on the counter in change and walk out with miller high life and enjoy every one of those champagnes of beers. Then go take a sip of an expensive IPA and not even finish it. It is all subjective, and I don't think that it's snobby to talk about what you like and what you don't. I can't drink Jack Daniels, i've actually boiled hot dogs in it rather than drink it, but Jim Beam and coke, sure anytime.

Get off my lawn (or boat)

Nothing wrong with having a cruise specifically for people who do not want kids running around. If you want to go on a cruise with kids, there are a hundred other ships happy to take your money. But i'm sure people will get their panties in a twist over it. -
Tradition at my house is a Bloody mary around 1130 while gametime snacks are being prepared. Then a beer or two then it goes as the Bills go.
-
It's worse if you're home too, that rum to coke mixture goes for 20/80 to 70/30 pretty quick to eventually just being a splash of coke for coloring depending on how bad we're losing.

Goose Island makes good beer. All their beers were good. Blue point toasted lager is another good beer. I liked all the Kona brewing lines.

I'm sure there are good IPAs out there, but for every one good one I believe there are half a dozen stinkers.

Really shows you how little the preseason games have to do with final cuts. He did what he needed to in practice and earned a roster spot in the staff's mind. Good for him I hope he does well.
-
And randomly dumping hops into a vat of beer and calling it "Craft" isn't always a good thing. I've had IPAs that were disgusting because people haven't learned how to balance flavors they just pour and pray. IPAs are the most overrated beer in existence IMO.

Different beers for different times. I don't drink the same thing all year long.

Ehh, I don't think i'll even watch this one when it comes out on TNT

How many here work on their car?

Do you guys use Salt Terminator on your undercarriages during the winter? we used it to flush outboards and wash off boat trailers after going in the ocean but seems like it would be a good idea for cars up north too. -

I've got a 2012 ram 1500 with the hemi and i really like it, i've had mid sized trucks l had a frontier 4 door for a while but I like fullsize too. Just more elbow room. Tacomas are crazy though, you can buy one, drive it for 3 years, and pretty much sell it for what you paid for it the mileage doesn't seem to matter. After 4 years the Tacomas are worth more than the tundras on the used market. -

Did you see the newer Tacomas with the oil filter right on top of the engine near the radiator? I thought that was a cool and easy place to mount it. -

I probably saved 3500 dollars turning wrenches myself on my boat simply out of lack of money to pay people. It's nice to learn a lot but I'll be happier next time when I buy a 4 stroke newer boat and motor they are much more reliable.
