  1. "I don't see anywhere in the Bible where it says you shouldn't get breast implants." Actually, as I read this part, I think that implants are ok: "The Feeding of the 5000 This miracle is also known as the "miracle of the loaves and small breasts" given that the Gospel of John reports that five small barley loaves and two small breasts supplied by a beauty pageant winner were used by Jesus to feed a multitude"http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feeding_the_m...ude#cite_note-1
  2. I totally agree. This to me was the game. As you said, a field goal meant "game over". Why the hell wouldn't you move them back 10 yards? If they get the first down, so be it. You lost anyways. It was the ONLY way for us to stay in the game, and Dick !@#$ed it up. Anything after that field goal was meaningless. The 2 pick sixes after the field goal were like empty net goals. Totally meaningless. And Dick pulls Trent after the first pick. Nothing like making Trent the scapegoat after Dick blows a call.
  3. 8 yr old American Eskimo named Sid, and a 4 yr old long-haired Chihuahua named Leo. Leo is the friendliest, gentlest Chihuahua on the planet. My 2 best buds.
  4. Before you get a repairman, you might want to see what it would cost to replace the door. A new door comes with the springs and all new hardware. If it's only a few hundred more, you might be better off replacing the door with a lightweight one.
  5. I've been using Windows 7 for at least 6 months. I initially installed an early beta and currently have the Release Candidate version. The RC is running so well that I haven't even bothered to install the retail version, which I received last week. There is a lot to like about it. It boots faster, programs start faster, the new taskbar. Plug a new device in and it automatically installs the driver for it. In most cases, you no longer need to use a driver disk to start using a device. As far as file locations, Windows 7 has "Libraries" which are somewhat optional to use. For example, I always like to keep my music files on a separate hard drive rather than using the My Music folder. The Libraries let you select additional locations for music, pictures, etc. So My Music Library includes the My Music Folder as well as a Music folder on my "E:" drive. When I do a backup of the Music Library, it copies from both locations. Setting up a network and sharing a printer is easier in Windows 7. Although the new Workgroups feature only works with other Windows 7 computers. We have 2 Vista computers and 1 XP in addtion to my Win 7 computer. I share printers and files between them, but if all had Win7, sharing would be easier. I have had a couple of "crashes", but each time it just closed the offending program and sent me to the desktop without having to reboot. Not sure if the crashes were beta problems or if I still may have an occasional crash once I install the latest retail version. Nothing revolutionary, but it seems to run much faster than XP and Vista. I received a free copy, so I will definitely upgrade. Not sure about my other PC's. Not sure if it is worth the money to upgrade the other pc's. MS is offering a 3 version family pack of Win 7 for $149, which helps. Also, most colleges have some big discounts for students. If you're planning to keep your current pc a while and can get it cheap, it's a no brainer. Otherwise, it might be worth waiting until you buy your next pc.
  6. Rex Ryan let his ROOKIE QB throw 5 interceptions on a day when his team ran for over 300 yards. You would think that after 2 picks you would have your QB hand off every play since you were gaining 6 yards or so a rush. After 3 picks, you would maybe break his throwing arm and go wildcat the rest of the game. And this is a great coach?
  7. I always look forward to your post too. Whitner got blown up on the big runs and Byrd took bad angles each time, but where were the lb's on those plays? I thought that it was a pretty cheap shot by Pace on the play that TE got injured. He was in a very vulnerable position and Pace knew it. Then he made sure he twisted TE and landed with all of his weight on him. I really thought that should have been flagged as unnecessary roughness considering all of the touches that get called. Hopefully, Pace will get fined for the play. One last thing: A week ago, everyone was calling Rex Ryan the next Lombardi. How can you possibly let your rookie qb throw 5 picks in the same game that you rush for over 300 yards? The only thing that kept the Bills in the game was the Jets allowing Sanchez to throw.
  8. This would have been a great post if only you had remembered to use the sarcasm smiley.
  9. That's the biggest problem as I see it. What I think there needs to be is a very limited policy that is available cheaply to all. Basically a major medical policy that covers everyone in case of a medical emergency. You could probably include vaccinations and maybe a physical every other year. Other than that you pay out of pocket. Something like this could be affordable for all and would make it easier to "force" people to buy coverage. For prescription coverage, you give them a copy of the list of $4 prescriptions available at Walmart. They need a pill, have their doc prescribe one off of this list. If you want more, you buy an extended policy that covers doctor visits, scripts, vision etc. I also think that all policies should have some kind of co-pays. Even "Cadillac" plans. If you make people pay something, there is an incentive to limit their health care spending. If brand name drugs cost $30, maybe they will decide to try a generic drug for $5. If you have to pay $25 to see the doc, maybe you don't go every time you feel a sneeze coming on. Next, trim all unnecessary care out of state Medicaid programs. The poor should not receive anything above basic health care. And definitely not better than the cheapest policies that we force people to buy.
  10. You can still buy Wardinski's in WNY. Shelley's are long gone though. I always buy Sahlen's. One time this summer I bought Wardinski's when the place I was at was out of Sahlen's. They were good but not as good as Sahlen's IMO.
  11. I just signed up with Ooma. You buy the Ooma receiver for about $219 at Bestbuy or other retailers and you totally eliminate your monthly phone bill. Check them out at www.ooma.com. I have only had for a few days but the call quality is great. They give you a local number for free or you can port your old number for $40. They also have a 30 day money back guarantee if you don't like it.
  12. Is there any chance that Medicare is "virtually bankrupt" due to the fact that people are living longer, medical costs are rising twice the rate of inflation, and most beneficiaries only pay $87 a month for this coverage? Or do you think that private insurers would agree to cover these people for $87 a month? The Medicare program is unsustainable. Either costs need to be reduced by reforming the program or revenues need to increase by charging beneficiaries more or taxing the rest of us to keep it afloat. Sorry, but doing nothing is not an option.
  13. This situation has absolutely nothing to do with government run health care but most of the comments so far are just bashing government run health care. If anyone bothered to read the article, it is about veterans who claimed they were sickened while serving or living near a military base. Because a causal link has not been found between living there and there illness, the VA has refused to cover these illnesses as "service related" Do you think that if they were covered under private medical insurance at the time they lived on the base, that the private insurance company would agree to cover them years later when they got sick and claim that it started years ago when they were covered?? Maybe you should try to vilify these vets for being uninsured. That seems like a better right-wing argument.
  14. Like universal health coverage? Seems like that would have solved the health related issues for these uninsured vets.
  15. The only way I can watch SNL is to DVR it and skip past the unfunny parts. Usually can watch the whole thing in 15 minutes or so. As far as last night, U2 was awesome, Megan fox is HOTTT, and the rest sucked big time.
  16. Just buy sticks of Margherita brand pepperoni. Don't buy the prepackaged one, you need the one from the deli.
  17. I resisted posting so far...but I want a chance at winning. Let me know if I win!
  18. My favorite is Imperial Pizza on Abbott Rd. Best in Buffalo, IMHO. If I don't feel like driving that far to get it, I usually settle for Edie's on Buffalo St in Hamburg. Edie's is very consistent and their bbq wings are top-notch.
  19. I bought a car on ebay several months back from a dealer in Cleveland. There were several bids on the car already but I called him up and negotiated a price about $600 under the "Buy it now" price. I drove there the next day, took it for a test spin and handed over the check. The dealer I bought from puts a lot of cars on ebay, but sells most prior to the auction end. This way, they avoid the ebay fees, but get the use of ebay to get people to look at the car. Almost all sellers put in a disclaimer that the car is for sale locally and the auction may end early if sold locally. Looks like this is a good way of protecting you on the downside as a seller. If the bids don't come up high enough, end it early by canceling the bids and saying that the vehicle is no longer available. This might work better for a seller than having a reserve price. Lots of people will avoid bidding on an item with a reserve price. Just price it low, put a reasonable "buy it now" on it and shut it down if the bids are too low and nobody used the "buy it now". Not very ethical, but par for the course for used car dealers.
  20. No, but the Republicans seem to be doing a better job of it lately. Here's a couple of examples: Senior citizens at town Hall meetings saying stuff like "Keep your government hands off my Medicare." or "'I don't want government-run health care, I don't want socialized medicine, and don't touch my Medicare." Something tells me these folks may need better mental health coverage. Or the people against the intrusion of government health care who fail to realize that the US government currently pays more medical bills annually than private insurance companies. If you're just now railing against socialized medicine, you're a little late to the party. Or dare I mention the Birther idiots. I loved this article: "Raleigh-based Public Policy Polling recently surveyed 749 North Carolinians about whether or not they believe Barack Obama was born in the United States. The results were quite shocking — and no, I'm talking about the matter that only 54% believe the president is a natural born citizen. Nope. What's a real head scratcher is that 5% don't believe Hawaii is a state and that 3% are unsure."
  21. Typical right wing bull sh--. First of all, the article you linked to is form the OPINION section. You could have just linked to Palin's twitters on the same subject. Educating people on living wills is something that has been advocated by Newt and lots of other Repugs before they were against it. It says nothing about anyone other than the individual or their trustee to decide on end-of-life issues for someone terminally ill. I don't see Death Panels in it, nor do I see anything advocating suicide for those who may feel like a burden to their family. Just more idiotic nonsense from the same people who brought you the Birthers movement. Every day, I see more and more of the Republican outreach to the mental defectives. Feed them lies long enough and you can make them believe whatever you want them to believe. All in the name of partisan politics.
  22. So, it's better to keep the uninsured out, so there's more health care available for you if you need it? Maybe if everyone had access to health care, the poor wouldn't be filling up the ER's whenever they get the sniffles. Seems like that would free up ER resources for better uses.
  23. Either that or if you accidentally shoot yourself, aim for your head.
