So how are we feeling about Coach McDermott?
TheWeatherMan replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
Cons: He leads a team that continually struggles against poor teams. His team lacks discipline and his clock management and game management in the 4th quarter is extremely poor. Pros: He is an exceptional human being with high character and leadership skills. His players love and play hard for him. He is a well above average DC, and has done a great job considering the major injuries to multiple star players. Conclusion: He had poor game management skills prior to assuming the DC/HC role and it looks to have amplified things. I think he is spread to thin, and this is a big reason this team is frequently sloppy. Unfortunately, I don’t think he has what it takes to lead the Bills to a championship (I’ll gladly eat crow) and because of this I’m still of the opinion the Bills need to find an Offensive HC in the offseason (well aware this won’t happen). -
At $18M per year, he stinks! Drafting Bernard and prioritizing an Oliver over Edmunds extension looks like pure genius by Beane.

When McD is a Breyer OC than your OC it’s time to look externally for help. Enough of this promote from within cronyism crap.

Duh…like the game of football is determined by who scores the most points and like the offense, defense and special teams of both teams are the contributing factors.
-
1) Rhetorical question 2) The Bills should always try to win big because their win % in 1-score games is abysmal. 3) After being up, the Bills lost to the Pats on a game winning 4 quarter drive in the first matchup.

Melodramatic much? I hope you didn’t chip a nail typing this response. Everything I stated was fact, not opinion but I’ll bite. This is the second week in a row we played a 3rd string QB with his #1 and #2 WR out and we won by a single score. Yes, a win is a win, but this isn’t going to cut it against a playoff caliber team. Winning a game by 6 points, with a +3 turnover margin and your opponent missed 2 FG’s is deserving of a 🤮. Last week, the Bills barely escaped because it was a trap game where they traveled cross country on a short week and played an opponent with a new interim HC…what’s the excuse this week? It’s awesome that the Bills won the last two games, but there is major reason for concern especially on offense and special teams.

You should try it…might look good on you? 🤷♂️

Because that’s my goal in life…

The Bills, at home, played an awful NFL team who started their 3rd string QB, was missing their #1 RB, #1 WR, #2 WR, missed 2 FGs and had a -3 turnover margin. The Bills won by 6…SIX points! 🤮
-
16 yards total on 3 possessions…please sign Brady as the OC. This offense is awesome!
-
The offense has managed 6 yards in their first two series.

Big fan of the 40 yard pass off your back foot on 3rd and 7.

1 word to describe the 2023-2024 Bills: Dysfunctional

I was at that game…this is something that McDermott is very capable of.
-
There were only 4 holds I counted on that, but still special teams sucks this year.

Easy, you have the best QB in the league at your disposal (see Belichick). I’m not happy being the early 2000’s Bengals, maybe your are. Sorry your opinion differs from mine, but no reason to throw ignorant jabs. -

Look up the definition of dingus, it might surprise you. Yes, I’m way off the McDermott band wagon. The team is constantly unprepared (with the exception of the Cowboys) and make way too many critical mistakes. This roster is way too talented to just survive the Giants and Chargers and lose to the Patriots, Jets, Jags, and Broncos. I want the Bills to win a SB, they will not do it with McD as head coach. Why’s this a bad take? I’m open to trying see this team through your eyes. Relook again -

I care what happens, but nothing that does will change my mind on McD. He’s just not an NFL caliber HC.- 540 replies

Most important game of the season and the Bills beat a team that just fired their HC/GM, and missing their starting QB, #1/#2WR, C, and starting DE by 2 points. This is the same ***** we pulled against the Dolphins in the playoffs last year. McD rarely has this team ready to play. They are the dumbest, most undisciplined team in the league. I don’t care what happens the remainder of this season, I will never be sold on McDingus as the HC.- 540 replies
