We beat them earlier with Tre and held them to 20 (albeit their O wasn't firing on all cylinders). Our D would have been good enough with Tre or a top CB. Keep them under 30, we win. I honestly think we were a Tre away from winning that game.😉. I definitely will not argue against the dumb plays towards the end (pure stupidity in my opinion). I have ALWAYS hated a prevent defense (prevent from winning is what I call it).

But we gave up 42 points. Do you think if Tre was there or we had a top corner, maybe Milano wouldn't have been trying to cover Kelce? Or a top corner could have stopped Hill on his TD? Or just one more stop in the game? I think 36 points is more than enough to win. Do we really think having another weapon would have yielded more points? I think the key is keeping them under 30, not scoring more than 36. But that's just my opinion.

Should there be an NFL Lottery?
LyndonvilleBill replied to Miyagi-Do Karate's topic in The Stadium Wall
Interesting thoughts. I wouldn't be for the entire first round or even non-playoff teams, but maybe top 10 could be Interesting seeing I don't see us picking in the top 10 anytime soon.😁 -
Gunner's 2022 Mock Draft (v3 and FINAL - p.17!!)
LyndonvilleBill replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
After letting GB's mock marinade, revisiting the thread and comments (many times), I just can't get on board with Williams at 25. ( I really tried...) Many keep saying we have the luxury of time to wait for him, but many are not looking at do we have time to wait for Tre to return. I believe we currently have Jackson, Johnson and Lewis as our starting CB group. None are #1 or 1b corners( and not confident in a #2). We didn't lose because of the O. I don't think we had anyone to cover (and BS defensive play calls at the end). So, before I get beat up on "drafting for need", I think the value is there as well ((opinion). Using GB's draft, Mccreary, Elam and Mcduffie are still available. Each show as a mid-late 1st rnd, early 2nd by a couple. Definitely not available by our 2nd pick. Plenty of fast WR's after the 1st rnd and to use a 1st on Williams as a 3rd or 4th (when he's back) I just can't seem to put a higher value on Williams than a CB based upon the CURRENT team state. And then when Tre returns you have a 1a, 1b and Johnson. That's a VERY good group of CB'S. We get pressure from the Dline, but give them an extra 1/4 to 1/2 second and I think they'll get home more often. Don't get me wrong, If Tre was going to start the season or we had a CB that could really fill his shoes, I could get on board with Williams, just can't right now. OK, I'm ready for my beating now (I think).😁 -
I wouldn't hate drafting him but, I think they'll re-sign Harry. If Star doesn't retire, I don't see us drafting a DT1 early. Maybe a late rounder. Unfortunately, I just don't see us drafting a DT1 on day 2.

I feel much better at this point than I did last year. We got our butts handed to us last year, had a bunch of FA's and what seemed to be a bunch of holes. I really think if we had Tre White we would have beat the Chiefs. Or maybe a better couple of defensive play calls at the end of regulation. Could we use improvement, sure. But, OL came together. Sign Bates and We are pretty good in my opinion. Dawkins, Bates, Morse, Williams and Brown. Backups of Feliciano (G/C), Doyle (swing T) Ford (G) and draft a couple late or FA's. Draft a RB 4-5th rnd, WR and TE 2-3rd. CB 1st rnd. Keep Addison or Hughes for 1 more year, re-sign Obada or see if we can add Shaq on a team friendly deal. Re- sign Phillips.Add depth 6 and 7th rnd. Oh, and sign a new punter. 😉

I mentioned Skye Moore earlier. Haven't really checked him out yet. Maybe worth looking into. -

Or he could have been talking about our secondary.🤔 -
Bengals & 49ers . When I don't have a dog in the fight, I always go with the underdogs. Not that I expect either of them to win in all reality.

Offseason Trade Prediction: We acquire Saquan
LyndonvilleBill replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
He can only be special if he's on the field. He hasn't played a full season since his rookie year. What's the saying, best ability is availability? He hasn't been able to do it. Just my opinion. -

This. I thought I was an outlier. 1 full season... I'd rather grab a rookie in the 3rd or 4th instead. -
Has the NFL season ended for anyone else?
LyndonvilleBill replied to billsintaiwan's topic in The Stadium Wall
It hasn't ended for me. I'll still watch and enjoy the games. Still a football fan. I have, however, shifted more time and attention to draft prospects and much less time on current nfl news and shows. -
Do you really want a rookie Offensive Coordinator ?
LyndonvilleBill replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall
I was just thinking the same thing while I was reading the article about 5 potential OC's. I also want experience. I think if we had an offensive minded HC, I might be ok with a newbie. But with McDermott, I want experience! -

He just may be the 1st of a few. To build a culture like we have, you need to have a few guys that have been there. I would expect a few more guys to go over the next few weeks. Maybe even one from each position group. Even if they are PSquad, backups or UFA, they been part of the culture and could be valuable to a team that needs this kind of change. -
I'm in th CB crowd. A round 2 guy may not have, but I'd bet a first round would have beaten Jackson. Here's why I think we need a top CB. First I think if we had Tre, we win the game. Second, we don't know when Tre will return, could be mid season and Hopefully he is as good as he was when he first gets back, but can't count on it. Without a #1 (1b), it could be a tough start and we cant afford to fall behind early in the w/l column. We need the homefield advantage next post season. 3rd, if you look at the remaining teams in the AFC, Chase, Higgins, Hill, Pringle, Kelce, Hardman and NFC, Debo, Kittle, OBJ, Kupp just to name a few. I REALLY think we are going to need 2 top corners to get where we want to be.
