  1. I think the Bills being on Hard Knocks this season may have provided some impetus for Beane to get Cook resigned. It's a bad look for the program to have a high profile hold out like that, especially when the theme of the entire Hard Knocks season was the family vibe that exists in Buffalo. What I was worried would be a negative for the Bills may have ended up being a big positive.
  2. What gives me hope for the Bills the next couple of weeks is that they are both prime time games and the Bills seem to play their best under the bright lights. Josh will put the cape on if he has to. I'd be a lot more worried about the next two games if they were 1 pm Sunday kickoffs.
  3. I would be more worried if this was a 1 o'clock game. The Bills don't wilt on prime time. I think it will be a game but the Bills and Josh play best under the big lights. Bills; 5-0
  4. Ty Johnson has 8 carries this season, Ray Davis has 11. I don't think that sample size is sufficient to say that they're doing good or bad. I'm not ready to hit the panic button yet. I agree that it's great to see Cook tearing it up, but we all want him to have some gas left in the tank in the post season. It would be nice to see Ty and Ray getting more touches.
  5. The top 5 scoring offenses in the NFL this year (points per game average) so far are; Baltimore; 37 Indy; 34.3 Detroit; 34.3 Buffalo; 34 Seattle; 27.8 (almost a full TD per game behind the Bills) I don't know what the Bills are doing but it's working. If Brady is doing this while playing things close to the vest, even better.
  6. I'm enjoying all this talk of going undefeated. It will be amusing coming to TBD the day after the Bills get their first loss on the season to find out that the team is a pretender who can't beat good teams, McDermott chokes, Beane is a bum, Babich is a baboon, the D-line sucks, our secondary is worthless, our WR's couldn't make the University of Beijing Polytechnic On-Line football team and the entire season is over.
  7. The game day thread is no place for the weak. That's why I avoid it..... 😳
  8. I grew up in Tonawanda so any trip back to Buffalo means Ted's Hotdogs and Anderson's frozen custard on Sheridan Dr. Check out a Wegman's grocery store but don't blame me if you never look at your regular grocery store the same again. Duff's has good wings and we love Bocce pizza. The Canadian side of the Falls is touristy but nice. Need passports or birth certs for the kids, the customs people on the Canadian side of the Peace Bridge always seem to channel their inner Mossad when we go across. The Maid of the Mist is really cool. Hope you have a great time!
  9. The Ravens were the better team last night but the Bills won. The Bills were a bit like KC a couple seasons ago who kept pulling out improbable wins week after week to earn the #1 seed. I have no desire to see the Bills face the Ravens again in the playoffs.
  10. Schadenfreude; Watching the Dolphins get hammered.
  11. I'm sure this isn't a new observation, but Cooks is likely to have a longer career playing in Buffalo where he is nota bell cow back. He was 22nd in RB touches and 19th in rush attempts last year, and still managed to score 16 TDs in the regular season. He runs behind a premier O-Line and has the best QB in the league on the field with him. They use him in a limited basis reducing the wear and tear on his body and he is put in position to be very successful and score a lot in this elite offense. I don't think he will find another situation that is as favorable. There is likely a $2-3m a year difference in what he wants and what the Bills will pay. Playing one extra season makes up for that.
  12. Wish him nothing but the best. He needed a change of scenery. Hope it works out for him except when we're playing the Boys.
  13. I think there is a lot of hate watching that the NFL counts on for ratings. A lot of people enjoy watching Jerrah and the Boys lose.
  14. You don't get bonus points if a WR scores a TD. I just don't understand this "controversy" at all. If the Bills were struggling to score points I think it would be a valid criticism.... But they're not. In fact, their offense is prolific, elite, record setting, conference leading. Josh Allen is so good you can get by with less in the WR room and still score 30 points a game. Take the savings of not having a $25m a year WR on the roster and put those dollars into the defense which is clearly the weak link on the team. It isn't 3D chess, it's freaking checkers.
  15. Josh Allen behind a solid O-line will score thirty points a game no matter who he is throwing the ball to. It's one of the benefits of having Josh Allen on your team, you can get by with less in the WR group and reinvest those resources elsewhere. The defense is what needs help.
