  1. Since when is signing a guy to a 2-3 year deal "mortaging the future"? I see that as the opposite - win now without sacrifcing too much. If you notice a lot of the deals are short term and this is the NFL so its easy to get out of even long deals. Every time we dont sign 1 or 2 guys we hear the "all in" comment. Makes no sense. It is so easy to make deals work for a few guys. What actually hurts more is along the line of what are roster has - tons of depth guys making too much money.
  2. All the teams that have made the Super Bowl the past few years have done so partly by being very active in adding players. LAR, CIN, KC, TB...
  3. Snaps we have lost or expect to lose: Wallace - 994 / 92% Hughes - 558 / 52% Addison - 482 / 45% Phillips - 474 / 44% Butler - 282 / 26% Klein - 277 / 26% Obada - 237 / 22% Zimmer - 161 / 15% Williams - 1172 / 98% Sanders - 747 / 62% Beasley - 691 / 58% Boettger - 636 / 53% Feliciano - 442 / 47%
  4. I get the whole we almost went to the Super Bowl last year etc. But that seems to have made most forget how much the team struggled last year. Late in the season we needed to beat NE late and were legit close to not even making the playoffs. It was a huge disappointment. We know what happened and then we crushed NE in the playoffs and should have beat KC. I dont know if we can always just bank on we have JA and we can win vs anyone. At some point we need to push a few more chips in to get this team over the top. We are wasting some prime years of JA with a strong defense. Adding another legit weapon on either side of the ball would be huge. As of now we are going into to next year thing: JA at QB - not sure who is back up and hopefully never matters. RB - Breida gone; No change yet. WR - Beasley and Sanders gone. Expecting Davis to step up and Mck bigger role? TE - No change OL - Saffold for Williams; Brown better in year two; No depth as of now. IDL - Swapped Jones and Settle for Phillips, Butler, Zimmer DE - Addison, Hughes, Obada all gone. No replacements yet. LB - Klein gone, No replacement DB - Wallace gone; No replacement So these holes are all filled via the draft and lower tier FA's?
  5. And AZ was a playoff contender
  6. No he will be considered terrible. Way overpaid by WAS. So much for the best offense ever for the Bills.
  7. #2 CB in a passing league. #3 WR in a passing league. #2 TE in a passing league. #2 QB in a passing league. #2 or #3 DE in a passing league. We have addressed depth at RB, depth at DT, a run blocking G. I dont like the approach. Not the end of the world but I hope they would have spent some resources early on any of the DB, WR, pass rush, which is consistent with what most world say the biggest needs were.
  8. Glad we are close to locking up our 3rd DT in free agency.
  9. $20M is basically free
  10. We have holes now at DB, WR, Edge, LB, TE, Back Up QB...
  11. TB is $15M over the cap and can sign Gage for $30M/3 and trade for Mason making $8M next year...
  12. I think many that are not happy simply wanted a C Patterson, Fournette, trade for C McAff, etc. This is more a depth move that could be good or be a Breida/Yeldon repeat. We will see next year.
  13. 1) Has not shown that. Has been the league long enough and generally will have more targets than rushing attempts. And that has been playing for ATL, SEA, DET and WAS. 2) He is not lined up wide very often. When he has been its a quick pass on a cross. We just signed McKenzie who can fill that role. Not seen much of this guy running routes downfield.
  14. I dont think any of it awful, just meh. Saffold is a downgrade in the pass blocking game. He has been one of the worst in the league. Will be interesting to see how that plays out. No problem with the DT's. Just still need an end. I am not as high on McKissic. Again not awful but Breida has the ability to be used this way and was not. Hope I am looking back next year saying I was wrong about this one, just dont see him having a big role and think money could have been spent elsewhere. Does look like this year cap could be low though so the its not so bad. Just would hate to see $4m on this guy.
  15. Meh. I feel like the Bills offseason plan is to maintain the status quo. I know we dont have cap space blah blah blah. If you dont have cap space you dont need an $4M per RB that may not see the field. Spend under $1M on a JAG and use the money elsewhere. Hey we could be fine and battle through the playoffs. Still time - but wish they made a run at the big impact need for a pass rusher or another WR.
  16. As we learned in the playoffs - gotta be able to run and defend the run. Wait, oh never mind.
  17. I don’t mind McK on this roster. But to say he is our #3 so we are all set is scary. He is a fringe player. In the right match up he could have an impact but he could just as easily be inactive. You still upgrade at WR if you have the opportunity.
  18. Beas can excel vs the zone. Mck has not shown that yet. That is likely why he gets less snaps. What d are most teams in vs us? Let’s see what happens but I don’t think mck has been getting screwed it is more likely his size and abilities limit what him zone coverage.
  19. Gronk should grow a pair and show he can do it without Brady.
  20. Oh well. Was good while it lasted.
  21. Let’s see what C Patterson gets paid.
  22. I hope they use him if they are willing to pay him $4m when cap is tight. Can get much cheaper gadget wr that play only a few snaps. Other than the NE game he was barely used. 1-2 catch/rush a game is not worth $4m.
