  1. That's exactly the conversation. A $16M/year decoy that doesn't produce.
  2. I know I know... But in reality that only applies to A.J Green's and Julio Jones. Mike Evans' was this year, Hopkins and Brown were signed just last year. Salary cap did increase, but teams usually use other players as a barometer. It is all about timing, but still doesn't take away from a horrible contract for KC.
  3. I thought about starting a new thread about this, but thought I would vent this here instead... This just pisses me off and I don't know why: Pittsburgh's Antonio Brown ($17 million per year), Tampa Bay's Mike Evans ($16.5 million), Houston's DeAndre Hopkins ($16.2 million), Kansas City's Sammy Watkins ($16 million), Cincinnati's A.J. Green ($15 million), and Julio Jones ($14.25). How in the HELL is Watkins even in this group??? Making more than A.J Green & Julio Jones, and in the same realm as Antonio Brown?? He's no where near their production level. What a waste of freaking money...
  4. Everyone seems to be talking in absolutes based off a few maybe slightly informed opinions people in the media might have. Opinions based upon smoke and mirrors that all teams are putting up during the "silly season" in the NFL. So while some theories might have higher probability than others, the only thing we can say for sure is that the bills will draft someone Thursday night. Other than that, NO ONE on this board knows $#$#@!$#!
  5. I would much rather be in our current situation than the situation the Jets are currently in. We still have some semblance of control in what we do Thursday night. We could potentially trade up above the 3rd spot and draft WHOEVER we think is worth it. Or we can stay where we are, or we can trade up anywhere in the top 10... Meanwhile the Jets showed their hand weeks ago, and told the whole world that they are drafting a QB. So anyone who might want one, come up above us. Another team could very well jump above them and take the QB that they targeted, thus really hurting the value of their trade. I'd MUCH rather over pay on draft day and ensure we get the player that we want, then over pay weeks ago and not get the player that we want.
  6. How in the hell does this Ryan McCrystal dude think B-Lo can jump to #2 w/o giving up #22 and #56 or #53??? Giants decide it's worth just to swap #1s?
  7. Did you ever suck the jelly out of a jelly doughnut and then fill it with chocolate swirl ice cream?
  8. Peyton and his 'lack of arm strength', was actually my first thought when I saw this. He also had the luxury of playing in a dome most of his career.
  9. I get what he's saying, but playing outside in Buffalo you might need a little stronger arm than in other places. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2018/04/18/aj-mccarron-arm-strength-is-overrated-how-often-do-you-throw-60-yards/
  10. Says the person with the handle of "Big Buff"....
  11. This draft, and this one.... http://www.sportingnews.com/nfl/news/nfl-mock-draft-2018-first-round-latest-patriots-bills-jaguars-quarterback/1uto1215wds7i1hsug6dmblwh7 Would be awesome!!!! Get a top prospect, keep the rest of our picks and then get LVE!!!
  12. Exactly this.... If Beane and McDermott find that Allen is their guy, go for it. I'll just be happy that they get one of them and they go all in on it. I've said this before and I'll say it again, worse case scenario they select a QB and he is a bum. Everyone gets fired in 2 - 3 years and we're back to square 1. I'll still be a Bills fan...
  13. No reason to sign him long-term now. Wait to see how he does and if he can stay healthy.
  14. With each passing day I'm more and more OK with this. It would be AMAZING if we can keep most of our picks and STILL get one of those top 4 QBs. Trading up to 7 - 10 is much more reasonable and still keep the majority of our picks this year to fill holes. We have many holes still to fill...
  15. With the 90 whateverith pick the Cardinals select Anthony Averett, CB, Alabama @Virgil is in the clock
  16. it's @Derby Dan !!!!!! And his posts are highly respectable!!! And I miss @SaviorPeterman's posts... Haven't seen one in a while...
  17. I just don't see it happening. You have to think the Cowboys offered him some where around that $8mil mark because that is what it cost to cut him. So Dez is probably looking to get a contract between $8M - $12M. So for #1 we don't have the cap room for that, and for #2 he doesn't really fit the character mold the McBeanes are trying to build.
  18. Well if Luke is putting together Cleveland's draft board, then it would explain Jackson coming in for a visit. Go get 'em Brownies!!!
  19. Don't know if this was already posted somewhere, but wouldn't this really bust up everyone's mock! http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2018/04/13/browns-bring-lamar-jackson-in-for-a-visit/
  20. I'm all for this.... I agree we probably have a high 1st rounder in 2019 (although I was first to say last year after the draft that our 2018 1st rounder was going to be in the top 5 and look how that turned out), so if we give up a 2nd or 3rd next year, we would be in good shape. It's not quite as much as we started out with, but we still do have a buttload of cap space next year and can fill a lot of gaps with free agents.
  21. The Cardinals select Kyzir White, S, West Virginia The Texans and @Virgil is back on the clock
