  1. Could be a nice gunner and catch an occasional deep ball. I think he would be a younger, cheaper, faster version of Holmes.
  2. I get that, but 4 out of the 5 years he wasn't looking for a back. So basically he did not take a running back until the third, the one time he actually needed one. Smaller sample than 5 out of 5 is all I'm saying.
  3. This is from the SI article: "He missed on a handful of deep outs—in an interview with NFL Network's Mike Mayock, he chalked up the gaffes to missing quality time with his receivers since the season ended." I don't know about you guys, but I really dislike this answer. Sounds like excuses.
  4. Patriots have been doing it for years! Nothing ever came out. We all kind of assumed. I thought his contract was way too rich, but compared to what guys are getting now, I would not mind it.
  5. I know he was their heart and soul and such, but his play was not good for them. My thinking was that we could offer them a chance to get out of the contract. I think he holds more value with us than other teams because of the history. Just a thought
  6. Klein was a McDermott guy in Carolina who filled in admirably for Keuchly he he was out. I thought he would be our first signing last year, but he signed with the Saints. He has proven to be a very poor fit for the Saints defense and got moved around all over the place and eventually to the bench. I think he has fallen out of favor in NO. After signing Demario Davis, I would think Klein would be available in a trade. The Saints would have to eat a lot of money if they cut him this year, but if they trade him, they only eat something like 2 million. It shouldn't cost much, something like a swap of picks or something. His stock is way down, but I think he has the potential to be much better for McDermott at the MIKE position. I don't love the linebackers on the open market and the Klein contract would be relatively cheap compared to some of the signings that are happening. If it doesn't work out, he can be easily cut after the 2018 season. Thoughts?
  7. I mean they had Jamaal Charles...when he was good. So I'm not sure why Schwartz is saying this.
  8. Probably Kubiak. He's Elway's right hand guy and probably going to take his job back (after some rest) once Elway fires Vance Joseph. Dude is a dead man walking. I think Elway clearly hired him, so he can fire him after two years and no one would care. Kubiak needed a break.
  9. Love your mock! Do not want to see Preston Brown again.
  10. I gotta say, I trust what Orlovsky is seeing over Cover 1. I like his work as well, but gotta go with teh guy who has played in the league and sat in film rooms with Steve Mariucci, Gary Kubiak, Peyton Manning, and Sean McVay.
  11. I know I'm overreacting, but I thought that Beane was really going to pay attention to the comp pick formula and he clearly isn't so far. We've signed five and lost 1. I think Bush is a second tier free agent and Stanford is a league minimum guy.
  12. I really would look into Jensen as a center. For linebacker talk to Whitehead otherwise wait for guys to be released. WR, wait for guys to get released.
  13. 7 uncatchable balls at a pro day? is this normal?
  14. Somebody said they saw someone with a Bills polo talking to Mayfield on the video. I'm sure the Bills will try to keep things quiet about who they are scouting, but people can see them.
  15. I feel a Bonner coming on
  16. Their draft profiles and measurables are actually really close. McCarron had an amazing college career and probably has a slightly stronger arm. Other than that it is very close. I feel like McCarron is what Peterman could be after some development. So right now McCarron > Peterman.
  17. That Ryan Grant contract..woof... I consider myself a pretty smart fan and I feel like I have a lot of knowledge about players. I honestly did not know who Ryan Grant was.
  18. I know it is early, but today is Josh Rosen's pro day. I figured I'd start a thread so we can put info here as it comes out. Nice article from Peter King on SI: https://www.si.com/nfl/2018/03/05/nfl-combine-2018-news-josh-rosen-shaquem-griffin-mmqb-peter-king I found some of the tidbits interesting.
  19. Agreed. It is very weird, especially because they released all of the other numbers.
  20. The Bills have to get into a position to draft Darnold, Rosen, or Allen. Anything other than that does not solve the quarterback conundrum that has plagued this team for the last 20 some odd years. Therefore, I think they have to get into the top three to guarantee themselves their guy. I think they want Darnold or Rosen. They will not draft Baker Mayfield (I like him, but they are not taking him.)
  21. Pretty much looks like a 2 year deal with an easy out to make it one year.
  22. This will pay off big time next year. But it kind of sucks right now. It's the collateral damage of the Whaley era.
  23. It's not looking good right now in that regard. They signed 5: Murphy McCarron Lotulelei Stanford Bush and lost 1: Seantrel Henderson. They stand to lose Preston Brown, EJ Gaines, Jordan Mathews, maybe Deonte Thompson. That would make the loses even. So assuming we sign nobody else in free agency, we are banking on people like Brandon Tate, Leonard Johnson, Shareece Wright, Cedric Thornton, Shamarko Thomas, Colt Anderson, Ramon Humber to sign for contracts bigger than league minimum. Right now the Redskins, Vikings, and of course Patriots are leading the way for comp picks. Still early, but that is what low level singings like Bush and Stanford lead to. https://overthecap.com/compensatory-draft-picks-cancellation-chart/
  24. I would take a shot at Troy Niklas, who I was really high on coming out. He dealt with a lot of injury stuff but is a really good blocker and gives use a size dimension O'Leary and Clay don't have. I believe Daboll is going to use tight ends and I foresee four on the roster. In terms of receivers, the prices are just stupid and people have spent a lot of money. I think some guys get cut in the coming days. I am much more worried about linebacker and offensive line.
  25. I've been thinking about this myself. Ken Dorsey is still out there and Rob Chudzinski lost his job in Indy. They haven't fired him yet, but they did replace him. I'm sure they would let him go if an opportunity came about. I don't feel great about David Culley's ability to properly develop a quarterback.
