  1. Run support is the equivalent of blocking for a WR. It's extremely important to the game and coaches and the outcome, just not to stats and fans. There are tons of allegedly great CBs who are not great in run support. And it should be a huge factor. Tre is excellent. Gilmore was not great but not horrible either. It used to make me laugh, however, when fans would say he was a ***** or afraid of contact or getting hurt when he would come flying up and try to bury his shoulder into the runner instead of wrapping his arms around him. Sometimes the runner would just bounce off him and continue running, but it's the opposite of trying not to get hurt or being a *****. Chances are much greater you get hurt doing that than just tackling. It was just dumb.
  2. Kelce is, of course, a way better player. There is no discussion. But the assorted "drops" stats by websites is a stupid stat.
  3. Since the above post shows the stats it looks like it's always been the rule. Just doesn't happen much. I honestly don't know though. No one seems to think there was anything unusual when he did it though. And obviously it is a "kick return" like any other.
  4. He's what. 9-1 as a starter in games he has one or less turnovers? He had zero.
  5. I guess my point was that the only reason this game was close was Fitzy being Fitzy throwing the ball downfield, running when he had to, making excellent throws 15 yards down the field. Often on critical downs. NOT because of Edmunds poor play, and he made a couple great ones.
  6. But that was not his man was it? I'll have to watch it again.
  7. Not sure about this but I think if the kicking team catches it on a bounce like that they can't but the receiving team can.
  8. They did. But I don't think it is a fair assessment to say Edmunds was atrocious. He made a couple extremely important plays and a couple extremely bad ones. But they were not the ones that put the game in peril and overall it didn't kill us.
  9. The league changed the rules a year or two ago that made it much, much more difficult to recover an onsides, mostly by outlawing a team to load up on one side. And then not allowing the kicking team to get a running start. The funny thing about the Hyde play, which was awesome, was that is exactly how you want an onsides kick to be. Maybe a mite long but that kick is in the 90 percentile I would imagine considering how you would want it kicked. Hyde just made an extraordinary play.
  10. He has also made a couple extraordinary catches.
  11. Part of that is being a young guy who doesn't get the benefit of the doubt. Part of that is being on a bad team that doesn't get calls. Part of that is now being an established guy who gets the benefit of the doubt. Part of that is now being on the Pats who not only get good team calls but Pats calls.
  12. So one missed "touch" pass in a whole game, which arguably is not a touch pass but a normal straight pass means he needs to be "more consistent?" He was accurate on touch passes today. Deep passes he needs to hit at least one of two. He missed them both. That's legit criticism. The touch he showed today was one of his best qualities.
  13. And yet Walton only had 66 yards total, not all of which obviously were Edmunds fault. Watching I would have thought he got 100. The Dolphins averaged 3.6 a rush.
  14. The only two touch passes he threw were right on the money. One to McKenzie and the one you mentioned. Deep balls are never touch passes. Maybe three for three if you count a screen to Gore he had to change his motion and throw sidearm. Not sure what you are talking about.
  15. Gilmore was excellent on the Bills. He got crappy penalties called on him early but he was extremely good. And is film is why Bellichick gave him a huge contract.
  16. He made about three awful plays and about three excellent ones. He wasn't good. But his teammates at the times he wasn't playing well were equally as bad. And yet in the end, I thought Walton ran all over them and he had 66 yards. They gave up 14,points and Fitz was the good Fitz 80-90% of the game. It's totally meaningless without more. As usual, you're too kind.
  17. One could argue that the Jordan Phillips play was as big as the Tre INT. Without that play, they likely run it in. Great touch pass from a guy with no touch. And the how is mostly different every game in the NFL.
  18. I think you still need to punch him, just not during the game.
  19. I wore my Bills blue Fitzpatrick jersey from several years ago, thinking that he was playing for us. That didn't work as well as I may have hoped. But it worked out in the end. Fitzy is really an amazing player. Love that guy. Did you guys know his grandmother is Nancy Lopez?
  20. The couple times he attempted "touch throws" they were fantastic. I can only remember two, the loft to McKenzie near the goal line that was great and the touch throw to Duke where Duke got hurt which was a great throw. Can't recall any other "touch" throws. He does need to be better on the deep ones. Missed two out of two open receivers. He needs to hit at least one of those. One he didn't put enough loft on and one he did but was still way too long.
  21. Gore was doing a LeVeon Bell imitation on some runs today, waiting, waiting, waiting before he drove forward. He's been so good. Singletary is not ready to be a workhorse.
  22. Knox has had numerous drops as well as numerous significant plays. The replay clearly showed that he knew he was wide open and was attempting to make a bigger play before he secured the ball. That should be eliminated with experience. The penalty was somewhat of a weak call but he has had more than his share of penalties and drops in these six games.
