  1. Chad Hall loves him, too. That can only help him make the team, and perhaps more importantly, Hall likely thinks he can mold Speedy into a serious receiver. Really like this pick.
  2. Some tough cuts will need to be made for sure. I know that McDermott is big on ST and has his guys he wants to keep. I think ST are important too. But... rules changes have reduced the importance of ST players. Tyler Bass makes KO team less important because of touchbacks. We don’t punt much, and our new punter is a hang time/ no return kind of kicker. We don’t need just special teams guys like Taiwan, Matakevich, etc.
  3. I know at least four Canes fans that know their football and aren’t homers, including Badol here who pretty much hates everyone (ha), and all four of them really like Rousseau. A lot. You get a completely different POV of a player when you watch full games versus highlights or draft profiles. He seems like a player, a gamer, and a great kid. 15.5 sacks is insane considering the snaps he got the first third of the season. Perhaps most importantly, fans and pundits seem to disparage “coverage sacks” as somewhat lesser than blow past your man stats. And yet there are maybe 5-6 times a season when a speed rusher 12 sack guy just blows by his man and gets a sack. There are 5-6 times a game when a QB playing against the Bills eludes some tepid pressure, steps away and scrambles for a first or can still throw a pass for a first. A guy like Rousseau with his Gumby arms and football instincts may be exactly what we need from that position.
  4. There is easily up to a .2 difference in football speed and game speed and cut speed on 40 times. A 4.5 guy with those types of speeds can be as fast or faster than a 4.3 guy in shorts. Stevenson explodes on his field tape. He’s extremely fast.
  5. Understood. Thanks for link and reminder. Although that article was before the draft saying Favre was coming back to play, and wanted to continue playing as long as he was healthy. And was coming off a great year of 4000+ yards and 30+ TDs.
  6. Adams is arguably the best WR in the game. They have a great RB and a great line. Tonyans a good TE and had 11 TDs. He won MVP and they were a TD away from the Super Bowl. He's a dick. Didn't he play three full years for the Pack before Rodgers took over?
  7. The best thing to ever happen to Rodgers was for the Packers to surprisingly draft him in the first round behind a Hall of Famer and then sit him. Now he hates they are doing the same thing to him. He's a dick.
  8. Trade down with Eagles. Our 30 for their 37 and Ertz. Tomorrow we take either of the Moore WR, Rondale or Elijah, or KadariusToney, and we drive defenses insane.
  9. I like the attitude but it’s impossible to gauge any player’s inner drive until they are there in the NFL having to put in the time, listen to coaches, do film study, deal with losing, etc. He’s a breath of fresh air. I hope he does well. Being as laid back as he is AND simultaneously wanting to be the best ever is a dichotomy tough to pull off. Will be interesting to watch.
  10. His lesser known brother Frank is actually better.
  11. One of the officials was heard on a hot mic saying, “Just take it from them.”
  12. IIRC McDermott played for the Bills in 1968 and wore 32 then and in preseason in 69, OJ’s rookie year. Hence the SI cover. But was released at the end of preseason and OJ had 32 by his first game. McDermott then played for another team in 69.
  13. Good signing. Beane definitely likes the vet OL versus draft route, Cody Ford notwithstanding. Also agree they may work him at C in camp. Bad jokes aside, if BillsMafia can somehow make him work with some kind clap on, clap off thing, or "Alexa, lamp on," we could really have something.
  14. There was a great story going around on Twitter when Rick was interviewing Wayne Gretzky and in the middle of it Gretzky stopped to ask Azar for his autograph. For Wayne’s mom who loved Rick and watched him every night from their home in Ontario. RIP Rick
  15. Its now going to be tea with the Bills.
  16. I like to check in an hour before I have to, but it’s often way too early. Looks like that happened to the Bills.
  17. Ertz is still available. The Bills probably still very much want him. The Eagles price will go down. Not sure how much Bills price will go up if at all. It’s just a game of chicken and Beane is better at this than Roseman. Doesn’t mean Bills will get Ertz for sure but they still very much want a vet TE and Ertz is very likely to be on another team. Oh, and Engram stinks.
  18. Methinks it doesn’t have much to do with the Ertz trade, which may or may not still happen. We lost two TEs. Sweeney is still an unknown. Beane is probably just filling out the roster and signaling to Roseman we really don’t need you.
  19. This interview should be required viewing. You watch a lot of these guys on other teams and see how they play but usually know relatively little about them. What a tremendous guy Emmanuel Sanders comes across as. He's a perfect fit and now makes all the sense in the world why Beane was after him. Just a great interview with a guy who knows what it's all about. Terrific personality and a winner.
  20. He’s a Newport Beach guy.
  21. Yeah that’s pretty decent. But not really good.
  22. Mitch Frerotte was better than Barkley. Great guy. Great teammate. Great in QB room and on sideline. Smart. Lousy player. Totally different situation. Hell no as starter. Hell yes as backup.
