Washington Post gives a shoutout to the Bills Mafia
Kelly the Dog replied to notwoz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, really good. I appreciate a well written article that seems to "get it" by an out of towner. Nice read. -
They may. It depends on the status of Diggs and Beasley. I think it's 90% they are both active. It's the playoffs. But that doesn't mean, especially in Beasley's case and a knee injury, that he will be able to grind the entire game and be his reliable self. It's quite possible no one will know that until midway through the game. That's why first Duke was activated for insurance. But it also just happens that the Colts are most susceptible to mid range passes. And a little short on CBS. That is where Duke can help the team even if the other two are playing. Sure we have five guys in Diggs, Brown, Beasley, Davis and McKenzie but I expect to see a decent amount of 5 wide. I wouldn't bet on him being active but I wouldn't be surprised either.

There wasn't any blood and the bone wasn't stickin' out, why shouldn't she go? -
Davis has been a very, very pleasant surprise for a 4th round pick. A lot of important catches for first downs. Several TDs. For someone without a ton of speed, he's gotten wide open a lot (because he is the 3rd and 4th look). That is inarguable. Davis has also dropped a couple TDs, doesn't seem to track the ball that well yet downfield, or on the sidelines. Not yet. Both of those things can be and are true. ] He's also a great guy, teammate, smart, willing to work. He may be very good. He's productive now.

The term "slot" is a little different when teams play wide formations these days. Sure, with four wide, two will be in "the slot" by definition. But often they are really wide, or really tight, or in the same place on the field that is normally an outside guy's place and route. The Bills play an interchangeable offense a lot of the time. Having a pure slot guy like Beasley is great, and he has had a terrific year. But all of our guys can and will play in the slot if Cole can't.

Wildcard game slot receiver options
Kelly the Dog replied to Mailman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
All three of Diggs, Brown and Davis (surprisingly) know all three of the WR positions. If Beasley cannot go, all three of them will have plays out of the slot, as well as McKenzie, and when they go four or five wide, Stills.
