  1. Hollister was also not re-signed by two different teams, signed to a low contract, and hasn’t found a new home yet either. Not like he’s thought of as a stud around the league. Maybe not even worthy of any 53 although I think eventually he will sign with someone. He was undrafted. The Pats traded him for a 7th round pick. He was released by Seahawks then re-signed to PS before making roster halfway through season.
  2. In some ways, Groot (or perhaps AJ or Basham if they were to explode) could be one of our most valuable players. If one or more of those guys gets a consistent rush our D and therefore team becomes substantially better. Groot could arguably be the 10-12 best player and the 3-4 most valuable with a very good season.
  3. That’s not really my point. In this instance, it’s ONLY concerning COVID. There’s no other circumstance (unless you want to stretch it) where a team would really get in trouble for telling the truth. Of course all of the instances you gave were not lying per se. I meant any GM that says publicly that Covid had no bearing on their decision making IMO is very likely lying. Should we punish Meyer for honesty about Covid and reward GMs and coaches for lying about Covid.
  4. It's a really interesting argument to me. IMO, anyone who doesn't admit that (if asked) is lying. I think Belichick is flat lying when he said it didn't at all factor into his decisions. I also think it was naive/stupid for Meyer to admit it because of how the NFL operates. But should we really just let this go? Should we really reward lying and punish honesty? That's a good debate.
  5. Lions just cut Dean Marlowe. Wouldn't really mind him back on the PS although I liked what I saw from Josh Thomas.
  6. It was a little surprising to me that he had never returned punts in NFL or college. There aren't that many RBs who do, but he is the kind of guy whose skills seem to fit the calling. He has good hands, too.
  7. Yep. Breida can return KO if he is active, as he has done a little in the pros and a little in college. Not much but he has done it, has the speed, etc.
  8. It is a lot. Beane basically came right out and said that they kept the sixth LB because they lost Bam on ST and wanted a guy who could play them, which was Dodson. They also play, and want to play 7-8 DL every game to get fresh rushers in there. So keeping 11 isn't all that crazy. We will, for example, keep 9 OL but only want to play 5 of them in a game barring injury.
  9. They have Gilliam who can play it, and they can activate Quintin Morris from the PS to play it. Unless it is a long term injury, and then yes they would have to sign someone. But that isnt uncommon to have to sign someone with any long term injury.
  10. Fromm is a lottery ticket insomuch as IF you win, you win $2.00
  11. Coaches don't only count preseason games in their evaluations, they count practices and meetings and how the player acts just as much, none of which we really see. You or I or any fan cannot say that Hollister outperformed anyone with any certainty.
  12. I think they are going to design quite a few plays with Gilliam in the game, as well as Brieda if he is active. They like Knox and they like Sweeney to a degree. Usually I hate TEs like Sweeney with the full Ryan Neufeld Syndrome of being decent at everything and good at nothing, including size and agility, but to me, Sweeney is somewhat of a surprise playmaker 99% of those other guys, and there are hundreds of them, are not. Remains to be seen if he can do it in real games when it counts. But he's okay.
  13. Myself and a lot of others do not think Tua is any good. It's a totally different situation than with Josh who was a great teammate and coachable product from day one and immediately you could see the talent. The opposite IMO is what you see with Tua. Who knows what the owners and coach and GM of the Bills would be saying if Tua was the QB and not Josh. Myself, I would not at all be in his corner as a franchise QB and sing his praises like I do with Josh.
  14. One thing more about the Hollister release. It probably has something to do with or a lot to do with, Sanders, Davis, Stevenson, Kumerow. They will just run more 4-5 wide instead of three. Hollister is no inline TE. If he’s going to be split we’re better off having a WR out there.
  15. I have to reiterate how fortuitous and what a pleasure it is to have Beane as a GM (and McD as a coach). What a face of the franchise from the management side, regardless of his excellent personnel moves. He actually thinks before he talks and gives actual useful answers to questions. Who knew that was legal?
  16. Yeah I saw that. Thx. I had thought one of his NE years he didn’t play enough to have an accrued season. He didn’t play much but appeared in 8 games total so he would qualify.
  17. Hope Hollister chooses to return to PS if we want him to. Imagine we/he would.
  18. Hollister apparently wasn’t claimed. Beane thought he probably would be. Be great to get him on PS. With only two TE and one of them injury prone, he might still think Bills are his best bet.
  19. Beane said they didn’t put in any claims. So no waivers. They want to re-sign a lot of their own guys. I imagine 2-3 PS players come from other teams.
  20. Well two of Bills WR are unvaxed and they kept 7 WR so maybe they did.
