  1. I agree. I thought he was a great fit, but I am guessing he needed to fall another 8-12 slots. 47. Arizona Cardinals: Christian Kirk, WR, Texas A&M
  2. I am right with you. Better that he watches the mistakes or masterful plays that AJM deals with initially. Play the kid at the end of the season. Week 17: vs. Miami Dolphins, 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30 at home in the snow and play to his strengths. Then in 2019 give him weapons and a power running game!
  3. NO WAY IN HELL WILL HE START DAY 1 ! I implore the Bills to sit him until we have a deep threat WR and a solid Offensive line. Teams will Blitz this kid ALL DAY! 4. We were VERY lucky that Chubb fell, otherwise this draft could have been us pushing all of our chips in for one player. It appears on the surface that it worked out. I am very satisfied in the end and I am looking forward to the next moves to solidify the DB depth, Offensive line, add another TE and bring in a deep threat WR to compete. Some will rise from the depths, but we need to trade or pick up other teams cuts. So in essence I say YES up to this point based on some luck. Bills Offered Broncos Two First-Rounders? April 28th, 2018 at 8:04pm CST by Sam Robinson When the Browns chose Denzel Ward at No. 4 instead of Bradley Chubb, that nixed a Broncos-Bills trade. And Mike Klis of 9News reports Buffalo was set to give up both its No. 12 and No. 22 picks, in addition to a second-round selection, for the right to move up to No. 5. Instead, the Broncos passed and chose Chubb, whom Klis notes the team had tied with Saquon Barkley as being the top player in the draft. But the Bills were also willing to part with one of their second-rounders — either No. 53 or No. 56 — in a deal that was going to involve Denver sending Buffalo one of its third-round choices (either No. 71 or No. 99). So, the Broncos valued the N.C. State-honed pass rusher immensely, passing on additional first- and second-round picks in order to stay put. The Bills’ package sent to the Buccaneers, for the right to draft Josh Allen at No. 7, included both second-rounders and a seventh-round selection. The offer to the Broncos containing the No. 22 choice — which Buffalo used to trade up and select Tremaine Edmunds — runs counter to a report from earlier on Thursday indicating Brandon Beane wasn’t willing to part with both of his first-round picks. But that report surfaced before the draft began; the events of the opening hour Thursday night could have changed things. The Colts also called the Broncos about moving up to select Chubb, Klis reports, but John Elwayelected to stay put and attempt to load up his team’s edge-rushing contingent. As for what was going to transpire if the Browns took Chubb and the Bills suddenly pulled their offer, the Broncos were likely to select either Quenton Nelson or Roquan Smith, per Klis. Sam Darnold remained the quarterback Elway preferred, with Klis reporting the Broncos had cooled on Baker Mayfield to the point they wouldn’t have taken him at No. 5. While that didn’t end up mattering, it could be notable if Allen or Josh Rosen end up being long-term answers for their respective teams. The Broncos dropped out of the Kirk Cousins derby and signed Case Keenum to a two-year deal, making it less likely they were going to use their top offseason resource on another quarterback, and were not closely linked to either Allen or Rosen late in the pre-draft process. 5. 5-166: Wyatt Teller, OG, Virginia Tech Despite being drafted in the fifth round, the Bills depth chart at guard is so completely unsettled that Teller could find himself competing to start at left guard. If Ryan Groy stays at center, it appears that Teller would immediately slide in to a starting role with either Vlad Ducasse or John Miller holding down the right guard spot. The Jets still have a very good Defensive line. They spanked us last year with our Veteran line.
  6. Agreed! I have seen the Bills grab many more guys in the past. He is the Aussie 2018 Fridge and should be a goal line specialist. Put him in 5 yards back and the whole Defense would need to stack the line. If he got it look out and if not throw a pass to a wide open TE.
  7. I am hearing more and more that he may have a shot to win the LG position. Now that you say he can pull, then say goodbye to Mr. Incognito. I liked his exceptional blocking, but I am more than ready to build this team up from the ground up. The best LG in free agency was undrafted and Jacksonville paid him mega-bucks. I think this guy is a beast and it may take a few years to polish him up, but depending on the scheme he may advance faster than expected. The Jets and Jacksonville will probably expose our line, but the Patriots and Dolphins should be a great measuring stick to see if we can hold up against an average defensive line this year. I still would love to get another guy this summer to plug in at RG or RT.
  8. I want to see him play on special teams. He could destroy players!
  9. Seems very possible. He needs to win a job first. LOL! I am not a fan either, but until we get someone via trade or after someone gets cut he is in play somewhere.
  10. How about this guy... Undrafted Simmie Cobbs 6'3"220 lbsIndiana Tall, long and thickly built, Cobbs is a physical receiver with excellent body control and ball skills, really good focus and an outstanding catch radius. He comes with some risk (off-field issues and raw routes) but has the talent and love for the game to develop into a good starter.
  11. The Bills should be able to sign a ton of players for offense that will be undrafted. Offensive line, TE and WR positions are available!!!
  12. I think he will translate to RG, because I am not sure he pulls well? Usually a LT conversion works best at LG. Interesting to see where he plays.
  13. Can we say Thomas Davis? http://www.espn.com/nfl/draft05/columns/story?columnist=pasquarelli_len&page=s_ratings
  14. The Bills theme is Big, Strong and Athletic. I believe that is still the path. We will be Bullies. Expect an OG in round 3 @96 unless a WR or DB is there that is rated higher. I am good with trading a 2019 2nd rounder to move up from #96.
  15. All I wanted was a QB and an athletic LB who can be the leader/QB of the defense. Allen is OK, but not my favorite pick. Edmunds is very raw and young, but could be a stud Pro in a few years as he matures. I see him more as an outside guy, because he is not a quick thinker. More of a speedy hitter/pass rusher that can cover TE's and play on the outside, however he can man the middle if that is where they put him. Note: We have a new identity. Big, strong and athletic. Star, Allen and Edmunds. We have a stout front 7 and a very good DB field. 1) I feel we overpaid for both players, but I understand why they did it. 2) IF Josh Allen can improve his accuracy and anticipation, then he may be above average. I am not sure he is a winner. He seems more like a guy that can be good in several years. I Do Not see Allen as ever being a top 7 QB, more like a potential top 20 QB. 3) The defense to me looks very good and we can add more depth with undrafted players. 4) PLEASE draft offensive line next!!! 5) I am happy we have ALL of our picks next year. I am OK if we trade away next years 2nd rounder if we need another 3rd rounder this year. 6) It takes several years to build and develop an offense. This year we will Run Run Run and play bend but don't break defense, because our offense should be very weak. 7) Ready to be surprised again McBeane. Find another starter or two in this draft and spend the remaining money wisely!!! 8) I am not buying a Josh Allen jersey for a few years. I own Drew Bledsoe, Rob Johnson and Doug Flutie already, so I am not feeling it. McCoy is getting pricey old and should be gone by next year. Edmunds could be the guy? BTW, Barry Sanders is my only fathead on my son's wall. He was the classiest and most exciting player, so as a role model I need the full package. My favorite Bill was Steve Tasker and Bruce Smith second.
  16. I believe that Buffalo will have a shot at 2 QBs. Josh Rosen, Josh Allen or Baker Mayfield. Darnold will be gone at #1, the Jets will take another and Buffalo will not trade to #1 or #2, so WHO will BEANE draft at 5 or 6? Not what you would do, but hat will he do! - I believe it would be Josh Rosen. He to me is the highest caliber QB and could learn the fastest. Forget the negative stuff, he is very good. We would have to sit him ALL of 2018 or he would get killed. He was the first name the Bills were associated with to move up and grab. He would need an above average offensive line. - Mayfield could play by late November, because he is mobile, creative and accurate. I also believe he can will a win. I think he is too short and would rub the brass wrong. - Josh Allen would sit ALL of 2018. He has Buffalo Bills written all over him, but he scares the heck out of me. Stronger and mobile. I can handle a bust. He could be the best of the class in 3+ years? Notes: - I left Lamar Jackson off the list, because I do not believe we would trade up for him. He maybe the pick at 12, but it would shock me. - 2 or 3 1st round QBs will be a bust statistically. The Jets will draft a BUST! I am guessing it will be Josh Allen.
  17. Josh Allen #1 may be a smokescreen... The truth may be that the Browns are trying to get teams to trade up early to pick #2, so the first 3 picks are QB and they get Barkley or Chubb at #4. Josh Allen seems unlikely at #1. Still thinking Darnold at 1 for now. I was typing the same thing. I agree!
  18. Allen Chubb Darnold Barkley Rosen . . . Baker or Lamar . Bills I am sticking with my same prediction. If we can get to #2 and not give up more than the trade value sheet or somehow save the round 1 pick next year than pull the trigger if there is a guy you absolutely LOVE. It would have to be a clear choice will little doubt and I would give up 3x first round picks in value. Otherwise sit and wait for a move to pick #5 or Pick #9. 2 of the 5 QBs will slide this year to sat least pick #9 and 50% of the QBs in round 1 will be busts. Do the math. 2 will be longterm starters (Darnold and ?), one will bounce around the league and be good like a Jay Cutler and 2 will be back ups or out of the league in a 4-5 years. There will be 1-2 gems in rounds 2-4 that sit and wait behind a great QB. I cannot predict anything until the Browns finally say who they are picking. I do not want Lamar or Baker unless we get them later in round #1 (12 or 22). I feel that after the top 3 prototypical QBs that we can wait until round 2-3 and get the same quality as Mayfield or Lamar. The differences is just waiting longer for them to develop. I still feel that Rosen will fall to pick #5 and he his probably the logical choice, but it may be Allen? It may go Allen, then Darnold, and Rosen. Note: I would be OK with Baker or Lamar at pick 9, but no higher.
  19. It would be a no brainer trade for the Giants and I get the thought, but it wouldn't be for Mayfield (smoke screen). Anytime you can move back 1 slot and still get still get your guy it is a good deal. I believe the Jets stay at 3 and live with the way the draft plays out.
  20. The Bills will win 2-5 games at best. Anyone that thinks we are a potential playoff team is smoking buffalo turds. QB is not a factor since he will only play if AJM is injured and our line is swiss cheese. If we land a stud MLB and another corner (nickel or a #2). If we get 2 starting caliber offensive lineman that are vat least average. If we find a receiver and he is amazing (bad receiver draft). And if our offense clicks before the defense starts getting injured from playing on the field for 2/3 of every game, then we go 7-9 at best. I would BET anyone on this forum that Buffalo has a top 5 pick next year. My hope is that we draft well and don't give away to much, so next year we can head back to the playoffs with a ton of cash for free agents and a top pick next year.
  21. Responding tom the original question: If we got Barkley at pick 6 or 7 (pipe dream) I would be fine with it, if they could keep pick #22. He would be the best receiver on the team and could work the slot when McCoy is in Or we could trade McCoy for a MLB/WR/OG. BUT... it would make zero sense when we have needs everywhere else. Truthfully, I am good with landing any of the top 3 rated players (Chubb, Barkley or Nelson) in this draft by moving up between picks 7-9 that are not a QB if we can keep pick #22 (MLB/WR/OG/C/DB/QB). Barkley would vault his way onto a Wheaties box in 2 years if we can put a line together. I do not want to take a QB if he has a low floor and a ton of risk. I can wait until rounds 2-3 if we don't have a shot at our guy. 1 or 2 of the top 5 rated QBs will drop and be there at 6-9. TB or SF are my most likely spots where we trade up to without giving away the farm. I am confident that the Bills WILL try and trade up to pick #2 and will give away 3x 1st rounders if they can swing a deal. Not sure the Giants or Cleveland will trade though. Denver and Colts are the wildcard spots, but they should stay and take the best available player to land a stud. I see QB going 1, 2 and 3, then best player/team needs. QBs always slide... Is all of the talk about Rosen Bull? Is Allen a smokescreen and he is the guy that slides? Will Mayfield slide out of the top 10? Can lamar Jackson crack the top 12 and he is the quiet storm or is he taking a nap in the green room? Bottom line is that I think we will get a QB in the top 9 picks and I have zero clue who it may be.
  22. Crosby only put up 17 reps and the OT's are not that impressive. We need interior all day. I am down for a Guard/Center for #65...https://www.profootballfocus.com/news/draft-ranking-the-interior-ol-prospects-for-the-2018-nfl-draft 6. WILL CLAPP, LSU – CENTER Clapp has multiple years grading very well in the SEC at both center and guard. That’s an impressive accomplishment in and of itself. Add in some of the best hands in this draft class, and Clapp is ready to start sooner rather than later. 7. WYATT TELLER, VIRGINIA TECH – GUARD Teller possesses about as much nastiness as any offensive linemen in this draft class when he wants to show it. He had some of the most dominant blocks we’ve seen this past season and that explosiveness will translate well to the NFL. Teller is a four-year starter with impressive grades each season. 8. BRADEN SMITH, AUBURN – GUARD Smith plays angry snap after snap, consistently playing to the whistle. He’s not the most natural of athletes, but his power in a phone booth is special. He finished 2017 as PFF’s third-highest graded guard. Next I looked for MLB and all I see are two OLB's. Not sure I like either guy anyway. Hmmm. Then I looked at DB, because this is a major need too. I like this guys size and works well in the slot - M.J. Stewart, DB, North Carolina (I chose him)
  23. The Giants will need to accept #12, #53 and next years 1st or forget it! Next year we will be the #1 overall pick. 100% keep next years 2019 1st round pick unless the value is recognized. I believe that we are the worst team in the NFL with no hope of scoring over 17 points in a single game. I would rather suck for 2 more years and build the team in the trenches. Stay and take Roquan if he is at 12 or keep trading down...
  24. I would trade down because all my guys are gone.... but picking a guy for the poll.
  25. I looked at that. He would never leave Atlanta at 32 years old. He can finish his career as the face of the franchise. I would pay him $30M a year for 3 years guaranteed money, but Atlanta somehow has money...
