  1. I am happy we made the playoffs and it was definitely climactic when the Bungholes helped us, but winning/overachieving leaves you a 7-9 or 8-8 team the next year and so on. We need to suck during good draft years, but we always win just enough to miss out on superstars. Buffalo is destine to be mediocre unless we continue the cleansing. We are drafting like the 1995 Bills and it took us 4 more years to get back to the Playoffs and we had a great core. We need to continue building up the middle on defense and offense! Losing could have been what made this year exciting. Now I have expectations! I was so much happier knowing we would lose.
  2. Rosen (my top guy) is the only guy that I think can plug and play into our system. Because of his injury history and modest combine he may drop a bit, but probably not past Denver or the Jets.
  3. Thank you, KJ! His resume looks decent and anyone on that staff has to be pretty good. Spent four seasons as Kansas City’s Assistant Head Coach/Wide Receivers...
  4. The only teams that can groom shaky prospects have a veteran QB and/or a killer QB guru.
  5. Oh I totally agree. I think Allen is such a high risk, however I think we will end up in the top 5 costing us a ton, unless... Beane is willing to move up on the QB that drops out of the top of the draft. 1-2 QBs will drop for sure and 1 may even last until 15 with Arizona's pick if Denver or the Jets land Cousins. If Aaron Rogers and others can drop, then someone like Mayfield and/or Allen may. I think that if the price is right and we can make some good moves. Allen is a top 10 talent and I would take him over Bortles and I think he was drafted at 3, LOL! Our Key move is what happens with Cordy Glen. If this guy is healthy and I think he will be, because I believe that he was pulling a Sammy Watkins late in the season with his foot after losing his job and doesn't want to play in Buffalo anymore. Remember when we traded Jason Peter's for a late #1 to the Eagles, because of a thin draft and free agency class? What if Joe Thomas retires for example. Cleveland will be desperate for a LT to protect their knew QB. I would take their #33 pick in a heartbeat. This leads me to a question back to you. Chances are that we do not get either of the top two prospects at QB and have to look at the other two. I see Rosen and Darnold gone in the top 3 picks. That leave Baker Mayfield (short dickhead that wins) and Josh Allen (a inaccurate wild stallion), both with a ton of risk. Any late pick has bust written all over it, so that leaves us with Nathan Peterman as the future and another year of Tyrod running for his life holding onto the ball. Lamar and the gang are all longterm guys that need to sit behind a soon to retire stud, not Tyrod.
  6. Free Agency Sweepstakes: Cousins goes to the Minnesota Vikings, but I hope the Jets land him. If I were Cleveland I would use free agency to fill in holes and use the draft to get longterm stars. They could turn this nightmare around in 1 year. This includes a mentor for Darnold (like Sam Bradford). At #1 I have a very bold prediction... I believe that Cleveland takes Saquon Barkley at #1 to make sure to get their guy and shake up the draft. At #2 The Giants lose their guy and trade out of #2 with Cleveland. Cleveland trades their #4 overall, #33 and #65 to draft Sam Darnold. At #3 Indy is open for business! It is down to the Broncos and Jets as the Colts do not want to move out of the top 6. Josh Rosen will be selected here. At #4 The Giants will look to trade down once again and this is where Buffalo goes for Josh Allen (I am not a big fan of him, but he can throw in any weather and he is a country boy, not some beach dude) where he will sit behind Tyrod Taylor for 6-10 weeks. The cost will be #21, #53 and #56 plus Cordy Glen or a conditional 2019 pick if he fails his physical. Eli needs Offensive Line help badly! Bills Needs: QB, DT, LB, OG, DE, WR, RB, DB #4 Josh Allen #22 will be traded to acquire picks to grab a DT and LB in rounds 2 and 3 giving us a pick in every round. The Cardinals will swap picks with Philly in trade for Nick Foles and they will draft another QB later. Note: The Eagles have to trade Nick Foles to save cap money and cut 2-3 players expecting to get a #1 in the this years draft and a #3 next year. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000919976/article/seahawks-trading-de-michael-bennett-to-eagles
  7. A QB is the most important player on any team. The GM and Coach know that this is what will keep them around for 4-10 years. The ONLY teams to make the playoffs and sniff the championship games have quality QBs. The fact is that teams draft 2-3 very good offensive linemen, but the good ones also grab late round players and coach them up. Coaching, scheme and coachable players are the key. Note: TE is not mentioned in this, because of Clay's contract, but it is the in the top 5 most important positions for a QB (LT, RB, TE, C and WR). WR last, because it is the threat of a run game and the "check down"/"mismatch" players that help a QB have time to go through progressions and learn a system properly. I would trade 2x first picks and a 3rd to get my guy and use the 2x second round picks on 2 potential starters at any position. Are offensive line is close to being fixed. RG/RT is key (note: we have Groy as back up for 3 positions). IF and a huge maybe, if Glen can get healthy and play RT, then a guard would be a great addition. Note: Wood and/or Glen need to go soon to save cap. The unfortunate thing is that this philosophy puts us another 2 years away from a great team. We need to shed cap and replace most of the defense over time. Look at the players closely (age, average players, free agents). Offensively, we need receivers. Look at what Goff and Wentz has. 2018 Draft Round #1 QB (Leader, Pocket Awareness, Blue Chip), Round #2 G (power blocker), Round #2 WR (deep threat), Round #4 RB (strong class), 5-7 DT, LB, CB - protect the passer and add weapons for growth - own the time clock and play field position battles Free Agents: 1-3 defensive starters (1 at each level) Note: If we stay put and take a QB (Mayfield), then I believe that we can be more competitive in 2018. I am not comfortable with that at this point, but not opposed. 2019 Draft DEFENSE and more DEFENSE!!! Fill the holes
  8. Late to the party, but Gronk's apology was BS. He was frustrated and took a cheap shot with extreme force. Basically it a defenseless player because white was playing like a man and Gronk was pissed that calls were not going his way. It was like a David and Goliath fight. David won, then Goliath got up off the turf when it was over and slammed David. I grew up a mile from Gronk and he is 100% an Amherst kid with a temper that he should have kept in check as a professional and as a star in the league. Stuff has gone his way 95% of the time and they were dominating, so "really" his lame apology that was more about officiating, then what White did by holding jersey on a guy that is 60 lbs and 7 inches taller that happens in every game constituted a violent attack. Gronk will always be the guy that injured our best new asset. I would never welcome him to our team and I hope karma pays him a visit. The suspension is a start. I hope he gets an illegal hit. http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/21667821/nfl-suspends-rob-gronkowski-new-england-patriots-one-game-late-hit Weak. I say if the player injured misses a game or multiple that he gets the equivalent + 1.
  9. McDermott did not know Monday if Taylor would be able to play this Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts, but said, "when healthy, Tyrod is our quarterback." McDermott said Monday that it looks good for wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin to practice after missing the past two weeks with a torn meniscus in his knee. The good news is that Tyrod will probably sit for a week, but Benjamin will be back. We should be Indy for self esteem, but losses are more exciting right now. I still see Bills at 8-8.
  10. This is the thread I was waiting to see. I am not confident that we will have a shot at Mayfield or if he actually goes higher because of the crazy year Darnold (said he will not declare if Cleveland is #1) has had. I love draft picks and hate to use up picks to trade up when we have about 8x holes. 2xDT, 1-2 LBs, WR, 1-2x RG/RT, LE, CB. I wish we had another player to trade away to grab another 3rd rounder, but I see nothing of value. Glen needs to go unless he can get healthy and play RT, Wood (I like him) needs to be replaced by Groy to save cap. Yes it will still be another 1-2 years before the Bills have a legit playoff team with great drafting and smart free agency moves. Sometimes you take a step side ways or back to take 2 steps forward.
  11. Probably nothing because we still had playoff hopes. Now we need to beat Indy and possibly Miami once while hoping KC loses out. Buffalo 8-8 and KC 8-8 is likely.
  12. Yes, I am furious about the Gronk hit and another Tom Brady victory. It is embarrassing. The best part of the day is that KC and the Bills lost. We have 2x Top 20 picks at this point and it is getting near the end. This draft is like the Elway, Marino, Kelly draft, so do not be surprised if we trade up and grab a top 3 QB. I miss 300 yard games in the air. I wish we could dump Glen's contract without a hit or he would get healthy, so we could slide him the RT.
