  1. Sounds like he quit
  2. What team ever attributed it's success having "greatest pre-season practise players of all-time"
  3. Yep sit him. No idea why they didn't immediately get Barkley immediate first team snaps this week. He's the obvious choice
  4. .. good? Is the OP's point we should have paid somebody 50-60 million to be backup and never start the backup (which is basically his only job fill in for the starter when needed and not sucking it out of the park) because if we had.. we'd know he'd suck! Poor Pete couldn't swindle the 50million dollars from the NFL!
  5. Yeah! Cam! That's beyond really good. MVP caliber some might say Cam did have a HOF receiver in one of his best years 1400 yards! But Cam's never had that again. Here's to JA getting half of Steve Smith Sr
  6. Because present day players from the 2015 Panthers are better than anything else in the NFL lol. I mean look at the greatest achievement McBeane's been a part of! They'd be fools to not to mimic their Glory days... Wait. Where's Gettleman? This isn't a 2015 Panthers offense!
  7. If we're gambling it sounds like you're praying for the 1% chance Allen is better than an MVP quarterback and hoping he's not less than or equal to a MVP quarterback. Cut your losses and stop at "good god thank our lucky stars we have someone as good as Cam" because that's really damn hard to come by. And I'm speaking to McBeane if you're speaking for them.
  8. We're talking about the worst NFL quarterback ever. Barkley is far from the worst. But the other dude is on the roster possibly starting.. let's lose with a bit a dignity for Pete(erman)'s sake
  9. I DON'T TANK [ON PURPOSE] WHY EVER WOULD TOU EVEN ASK THAT QUESTION
  10. Dude it's dumb. Be decisive on if you want guaranteed loss Peterman, wildcard doesn't know the playbook Barkley (WHO COULD USE A FEW PRACTICE SNAPS) or banged up rookie you don't really need to start. Play Barkley it's ****ing Friday
  11. Dem one cut slashers come and go. And we've had someone backing Shady up before Karlos and after. Karlos was the best tho. Sorry Ivory.
  12. It's a nonstory. He got baited into a question he didn't Dodge is all.
  13. Inaccurate with arm strength in spades. I don't know if you're saying they were totally different prospects but he looks like a nerfed clone of Newton to the tee. Just worse in every way. If he's as good as Cam I'll be through the moon. The draft looked like a clear attempt to build another Panthers team. Edmunds is Kuechly, Allen is Cam.. Christ I hope that works. If you can clone their team sure. But these guys are never going to be the same formula.. we can't rebuild by cloning players.. maybe by draft strategy but if we're simply forcing the Edmunds and Allen pick to look like the 2014 Panthers, what if we're passing on Rodgers and Deion Branch clones. Totally different styles of play, both great. Horrible formula not to just draft the (what anybody believes) is best guy at the position rather than sticking to a rigid "we need a guy as similar to that as possible!" But yeah it'd be cool if they turn into Cam& Kuechly 2.0
  14. To your first part. It's just funny. I can make fun of Whaley's silly PC's, Rex, Peterman.. Beane screwed up lol that's all. Otherwise a nonstory. To your second part I'll repeat He was probably looking at lots of secondary targets getting toasted by Mahomes. He was certainly looking at Tre White. The guy was watching CFB for scouting. And he absolutely saw secondary players he wanted getting toasted by Mahomes. Still would have been the new hire coach with baggage Whaley balls to the wall longshot to draft Mahomes but we can dream for brass balls can't we?
  15. I thought he was a lock for coming back. Why would he sign last year if he didn't think he could still play and thought we'd compete? Still playing at a high level he'd simply regret not seeing this thing out after choosing not to retire early when it was an absolute overhaul. 100% certain Cogs and Wood (he likely would have retired anyway but was given all the more reason to when they) saw the writing on the wall with the only guy keeping a shadow of an offense together was being pushed out and Peterman was was the only guy left and retired. Tyrod may have kept Cogs from retiring and hoping for another playoff experience playing the same formula. But Kyle Williams re-signed.. and has to see this out for as long as he's playing well. Otherwise I can't imagine why he would have re-signed at all, he's having his worst experience of his career I imagine.
  16. Idk but McD wasn't ignoring the college players at Carolina or anything. He was probably looking at lots of secondary targets getting toasted by Mahomes. It would have been very nice. But he's not perfect. I'd like perfect though. That's what'll make us a dynasty to wreck the Bradyless Patriots into my 40s.
  17. Haha. I can only hope. Honestly, because a dude that made this offense with intentions of winning games is a scary proposition. And rebuilding and tanking are the same thing as far as these guys go. Not many GMs go through such extreme measures.
  18. I'd rather they suck on purpose than this story be true! Good god gross calculation is an understatement, that's the last answer I wanted to hear. Why do I think he said it? Idk he just took the bait and got owned and looks like a dummy now. And we're parsing what this quote means. He must have been speaking truthfully I guess, but he basically said he's tanking unintentionally. Scary.
  19. Because they thought Darby was worth Matthews and a pick flipped for Benjamin. ..Actually had nothing to do with getting Allen to whatever your replying to. Quite the opposite. just lost us an asset for WRs that set Allen back either by having crappy KB playing with Allen, or wasting a year of building a WR corps thinking Matthews had them set replacing Watkins... Actually a horrible move anyway as far as working to get a top 10 QB with weapons is concerned.
  20. Sure lol but he had to use such strong language? Couldn't say what we're saying here that "we're not tanking but we know our plans for rebuilding long term are affecting current results we got our Quarterback and we're going to keep improving" not "I will never tank while in Buffalo [on purpose]".. a rebuild McBeane style is a tank what the hell else is it supposed to be. Just don't tell the media you tried to field the best team possible because it's a bald faced lie or it genuinely comes off as this was his best effort.. both super embarrassing. But whatever, non story as far as we're concerned we know what's happening. Just not good for Beane should he fail and have to explain what the heck he meant when he fielded the worst offense ever. By that point it's his job on the line not our franchise. We rag on Whaley for his press conferences and didn't have the benefit of knowing he'd have a job the next day, but he never said "I'm setting this team up long term we will never have cap problems while I'm GM." and that would have been equally hilarious because he's just bald face lying. Dude was just awkward and gave non answers. Smart dodging bait like that
  21. Dude's an idiot. any team dominant on one side of the ball and competent on the other is a good team. We're not either right now but rule changes don't preclude an elite defense from having an equal effect on the game. The other team is playing the same rules. So if it's so easy to March up and down the field we're going to be able to March up and down and have a competitive advantage in stopping the other team from doing so quite as much. It's just relative to the league any given season if the best defense gives up 30 points a game and the league is averaging 50 then ya don't have to score 50 on a bad offensive night. You nab the easy 35 if rules begin to get that whack on offense. Eagles D did just enough to stop Brady to win with a clear competitive advantage compared to Pats that couldn't stop Nick Foles. The Jags played shootouts after the Bills because they were playing jacked up offenses with poor defense. The teams that win Superbowls are dominant on one side and top 10 on the other. Doesn't matter which way but it's recently been the better defensive teams that win anyway! Like every recent year! Eagles D > Pats D, Pats D > Falcons D, Broncos D > Panthers D, Seattle D > Broncos D, Giants D > Pats D. Doesn't matter if it's a shootout, Nick Foles beat Brady because they were subpar defending him. Jags had it on Steelers. If it's so easy to score that Bortles can do it, his defense is just as closely matched against a great offense yet slightly gave the edge to win. Falcons shootout likewise. Just have to be better than the team on one side of the ball than they are on your side.
  22. It's just equally funny and dumb to say. I'm not holding him accountable, the games do that. I'm saying it's a stupid answer: for his sake, not mine. He can hold himself accountable if he's hurting his budding career. "As long as I'm in charge I will never tank [on purpose]" the reporter messed up the context of the quote.
  23. yep we're not disagreeing with each other. I feel we shouldn't have gone ALL defense in the offseason knowing Glenn, Cogs, Tyrod were leaving. Like invest something besides the rookie QB at the expense of Star (not that he's not playing well) or Vontae Davis. Like the Terrelle Pryor signing. I mean they never acknowledged Peterman was terrible and named him week 1 starter.. yuck. So.. I'm just cautiously optimistic, I see what can happen to make this all come together, but they've made great acquisitions as well as poor mistakes, so I'll believe it when I see it, until then I'm still questioning how we got to this point and how we can finish this jigsaw puzzle with the mistakes made. I'm cautiously optimistic given decisions to date (think they've done just enough good things to set this all up), but still wary. You're a little bit peppier. Nothing wrong with either perspective. Also just annoyed as a fan that this season is in the tubes, only season I recall as truly unwatchable by most 2nd halves. Life is short, and I don't want to waste a year not enjoying my favorite hobby. But that's my fan cap: absolutely no patience. My GM cap is saying maybe it'll pay major dividends.
  24. Absolutely. Fix this QUICK and the defense has infinitely less chance of growing jaded. They shouldn't have been in this position to begin with anyway
  25. I know. Luck is awesome. Just a lot of haters on him for some weird reason that I'm qualifying even without him it's a great draft. If you choose to consider him as I do a future consistebt all-pro Quarterback makes my point all the better. If you're convinced he's a bust (he's not) then it's a great QB draft regardless
