Were there ever years you were disinterested in the Bills?
El Guapo replied to Another Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Disinterested? Never. I’ve had NFL ticket since it started. I never miss a game. The rules when I got married were Sundays or football days. Do not schedule anything on a Sunday after 11 AM. My wife became an NFL fan and a huge buffalo fan. And Sundays were our day together. We had seasons from Bledsoe‘s first year until 2012 when my job changed and I lost all the travel perks which made it affordable to go. We still try to make it to a game or two every year. We have great friends from Canada that had seasons next to us. Good times. when things got boring, during the drought years, we came up with a silly game, called scoring shots. We’d pick a shot for the week, and every time the bills scored we do a shot. Well, there were a lot of games where we only did two shots. So we added turnover shots. If the ball was taken from the opposing team boom another shot. Well that didn’t work very well either. We added kickoff shots. So the beginning of the game and the halftime kick became another shot. That was about where we were OK with it. We were not getting hammered, and it just made those miserable games a little more fun. Well, then, Josh Allen came along. All of a sudden, we were drunk by halftime, and comatose by the end of the game. We had to stop playing the game. The kids still play it. Although, they’re not kids all of them are in their 20s and 30s. i’m just too old for that *****. 🤪🤪 -

Ranking The Last 25 Years of Week 1 Opening Games
El Guapo replied to corta765's topic in The Stadium Wall
My first game. We were at the goal line the Jets were running to. The stadium was electric prior to kick. Hell the crowd was electric for two seconds after the kick, but I have never seen the stadium, anywhere, go from so electric to numb in five seconds. Before they even reach the end zone, the aisles were full of people walking out. My wife and I cannot believe the feeling of jubilation going to one of disappointment so fast. It was a great game to be at, but we did not like the outcome. -
For those who sit in the lower bowl, where’s your ideal view?
El Guapo replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
We loved our seasons in 116, row 5. Right on the goal line. Yeah, it was low seats and we watched the jumbo tron half the game, but when a play happened in our side of the endzone it was more electric than you can imagine. Now that we’re in our fifties, give me club seats. 😜 -
Driving to Atlanta for the first half. I’ll find a bar to watch the Bills’ choice. Friday afternoon, I will watch from Carlo & Charlie’s Bills Backers bar in San Pedro, Belize.

Updated scenario for scheduling to be voted on Friday
El Guapo replied to The 9 Isles's topic in The Stadium Wall
Atlanta would be the most neutral site. Close to same distance from Buffalo and Kansas City. Also not an easy drive for Cincinnati. -
It would be too pricey for me. I would have to take my wife, son and nephew. That puts walk-in at $20,000, not even taking into account ancillaries. Probably end up over $30k. Not to mention how upset my daughter-in-law and my nephew’s wife would be for leaving them out (one is a Bills fan but married into it; the other is a Chargers fan). No, we’ve already decided that if Buffalo is in it, we will go somewhere together (all 6 of us) to watch the game. We could go to the Caribbean for half that to watch the game. And I would be with the Bills fans that mean the most to me.

I think he’s going to have to have surgery on the elbow after the season. He is not pushing the ball down the field like he usually does. He will if he has to, but he looks hesitant to do it. I hope I’m wrong, but something seems off.

White on white is the best look. -
This is the perfect place to ask this question. I just don’t understand why there is any negativity here. 🤷♂️

In real speed, did anyone start screaming for a tripping call? I know no one at my house did. After replay we did, but I can see why he didn’t throw a flag. Should he have? Hell yes. But in real speed, I can understand why it wasn’t thrown. glad it didn’t cost us the game.

He always has the same look. Glad he’s our DC.

I’ve met a few players over the years. Usually just a handshake and a hello. I’ve never talked football with them, except for one. I was in the Atlanta airport late one night, traveling home from a work trip. This was back before smart phones and such devices. Early 2000’s. The concourse was pretty empty, and I was sitting in a gate area reading a magazine or newspaper. I was wearing a Bills sweatshirt. out of nowhere, this older gentleman comes up to me and asks if I am a fan. I told him I was, and I introduced myself. He introduced himself as Billy Shaw. I noticed a ring on his finger and asked if it was one of his AFL championship rings. His face lit up as he held it out, and he said no, this was his most treasured ring. It was his HOF ring. He took a seat and we talked for ten or fifteen minutes. Super nice guy. He initiated the encounter and seemed to enjoy talking about his playing time and the Bills in general. His flight was called and we said our goodbyes. Great memory.
