  1. Beane had an opportunity to get a high draft pick, knowing he'd draft a QB, the following year. Big picture.
  2. And we were in cap hell, in need of a QB. The problem with fans, is we're making our decisions in a vacuum. Beane can't do that. His predecessor did.
  3. Yes they do. And had Watkins been able to stay healthy and our cap situation were different, I would have liked to have kept him.
  4. That and knowing he would command major bucks to re-sign. We were already in cap hell.
  5. Did Vrabel just say "Who the f---k just called a timeout?"
  6. There were some pretty obvious holds by the Titans in the first half that weren't called.
  7. On that, we can all agree. Thanks for making this point. Now...back to the game...
  8. Oh, I know that. I was countering the argument that new coaches draft QBs all the time. I'm trying to think of examples where both the coach and GM were brand new.
  9. With new GMs? I'm struggling to think of one but that doesn't mean it hasn't happened.
  10. With a new coach, on the job for a handful of months, a lame duck GM in place, and not knowing what you had as a team, the Bills were in no position to draft a QB early in that draft. Once Beane was in place and they saw the team they had, they knew what they needed in a QB. The timing was just not right for Mahomes.
  11. I see him more on Tampa Bay than Miami. Miami has Fitz. He played well. Tampa Bay has Winston...who did not. I see both teams drafting QBs this year and they'll have the QBs to mentor them.
  12. Totally forgot about that. I'm pulling for KC. Can't root for the Titans. Happy they beat the Putriots, but it ends there. Even though we played the Titans with Mariota, we held Derrick Henry to 78 yards on 20 carries. KC should take a page out of the Bills gameplan.
  13. This has been a good game. Some good prospects.
  14. You are correct. No one will argue that Peterman was bad. However, we all saw that Peterman looked great in the preseason. You would think the Peterman we saw the previous season in San Diego had matured. Josh wasn't ready. We traded McCarron. Peterman was given the opportunity to shine and it was a disaster. McD knew. He just wasn't going to throw the guy under the bus in front of the press. So Josh played and learned on the job. I trust McD and I trust Beane. They are learning from mistakes and have put together a solid team. I have no doubt they will find the right blend of players.
  15. I agree. I was surprised that no one was with Josh on the sidelines. You don't have to be a psychologist to encourage someone or simply offer a perspective. Someone should have been there, coaching Josh up on the sideline and reminding him that the weight of the game is not entirely on his shoulders.
  16. Absolutely! The original poster alluded to what I and others may have interpreted as resulting from said physical pummeling, to it being more psychological due to Josh being amped up and stressed out.
  17. Someone posted on this site that Josh showed evidence of stress and anxiety in the Houston game. I had noted his eyes and redness of his face, especially after the hit on the sideline. I thought it might be concussion related, but the poster suggested Josh could benefit from a sports psychologist. Hmmmmm....
  18. So glad to see Houston taken down a peg. Going on about their great comeback. He who lives by the comeback, dies by the comeback!
