Honestly one of the most unbelievable "stats" in football is that Snead hasn't made a pick in the first round since 2016. That's just astonishing...and even more so that they have made 2 Super Bowls since that time. Flies in the face of almost every "unwritten rule" about team building.

Agree. Drafting for the Giants I almost pulled that trigger on the QB, wouldn't shock me if they would in that spot. Will be interesting to see how the draft falls and perhaps the plan we have comes to fruition.
-
Question also becomes...how do they sell that idea to Rodgers? Would he be happy his eventual replacement is drafted rather than something that could help him in the short term? And what kind of say so are they allowing him to have in the draft process?
-
Fair question. I feel like he still has some upside. The things he still does do well would mesh really nicely in our offense. I think he can handle being the head of a committee for a week or two should Cook miss a bit of time. He's also had big game NFL experience, which IMO is something that you can't replicate. The moment won't be too big for him should his number be called. He's not likely to every be a superstar, but he's a "steady Eddie" that could/should be inexpensive. He does lend some versatility. I also believe that because of his former draft status some look down on his ability and he's much more solid a player than given credit for. A change of scenery would do him some good.

I hope they sign him. Frees up CEH who I would rather have as a possible vet RB2 in Joe Brady's offense.

Bates-O-Matic? Git er done!!

Yes and no. From a long term franchise perspective...sure, absolutely agree. Strong feeling is that the current staff has been given the "playoffs now or else" ultimatum. Spending a high 1st on a pick that won't likely help that goal may just cost Saleh/Douglas their job. They need impact players this year for sure.

I agree and really wanted to pull the trigger on Jayden Daniels. If the draft played out like this I think that's exactly what Schoen does as well. I, myself however cannot take a QB this high and surround them with no support. Arguably, the biggest playmaking threat they have on offense just may be Devin Singletary. While he's a solid player....that's an issue. Robinson and Hyatt are nice pieces but haven't been consistent. Waller may retire and if he doesn't is comically overhyped at this stage of his career.

With the 6th pick, the New Jersey Giants select: Rome Odunze, WR, Washington Serious thought was given to going QB in this spot. But frankly, it doesn't matter who the QB is if they don't have an Alpha receiver to throw to. Enter Odunze who I feel could have the most successful NFL career of the top 3 WRs long term. Excellent size and strength Odunze can step right in on day 1 giving us that #1 WR we haven't had since early OBJ. The Tennessee Titans and @MrEpsYtownare now on the clock.

What if Allen and Mahomes swapped exact situations?
BuffaloBillyG replied to first_and_ten's topic in The Stadium Wall
If Allen and Mahomes swapped situations Allen would lose half of his cash because no WAY he would saddle himself with Pat's wife. And frankly, I don't think Mahomes has the off field moxey to date a Hollywood star. -
Brown, Bernard & Torrence Get Nice Pay Bonus
BuffaloBillyG replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
Thanks, fellas. Eyes are getting old and don't always see everything anymore 😂 -
Well deserved for both guys. Think they have something good on the right side of that OL as long as Brown stays healthy. These bumps are NOT counted on the salary cap FWIW.

Wow. Way too young. RIP.

I'd like to give a go. Giants Titans Falcons

Sleeper late pick - interior OL - UCF Lokahi Pauole
BuffaloBillyG replied to rayray808's topic in The Stadium Wall
Seems like the kind of kid we would draft and would end up poached off the PS by another team. -
Best Part of the Draft this Year will be Roger Goodell
BuffaloBillyG replied to Kaenon's topic in The Stadium Wall
I just want them to go back to those COVID year remote drafts. Some of the best unintentional comedy the NFL has ever produced. -
It's like watching 2 created teams in Madden play. Just nothing to grab my attention and pull me in. Lower skilled players and coaching staffs. Hard to gain any rooting interest. And the whole thing is headed by Dwayne Johnson who may just be the most oversaturated and over exposed celebrity in America. I'll be tuned in all weekend.

Poyer talks about 13 seconds
BuffaloBillyG replied to JakeFrommStateFarm's topic in The Stadium Wall
Coaches could have coaches better. Players could have stepped up and played better. And for all the "defensive leadership" and experience on that D....not one of them had the forethought to put any input into the call, audible when they saw what was happening change up anything either. It was a complete failure on the coaching staff from McDermott down and a complete failure on the players involved. -
Raheem Mosert extended-2 yrs up to 9.075 mil
BuffaloBillyG replied to JerseyBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's a problem backfield to play against...for now. Mosert is already 31 and though lightly used early in his career will start to hit a wall soon. Achane is EXPLOSIVE for sure...but I have serious doubts he will ever be more that a 8-10 touch a game guy without missing time due to injury. He's not built for it. -
And Diggs has yet to jump on and defend Damar? CLEARLY this signals Diggs wants out of Buffalo. Film at 11.

Seems like they are working backwards. See who they like later and would be content in selecting at that point and leave the higher picks open to what they take. I think normally they have early rounders in later in the process as well.
