  1. I'm with you. It's gotten so bad we are looking at the term "Gabe Davis, WR1" as something to hope for. The same Gabe Davis we all knew wasn't even a WR2. And coming off a knee injury to boot. Meyers, Shaheed or Jeudy would be our most dangerous WR. Heck Mecole Hardman would see serious snaps at WR. The options just aren't there this year. Today, the Steelers brought in and signed MVS. That's a sign of what WR needy teams are being told when it comes to the big names. He of course has played with Rodgers before.
  2. Blanda had such a weird career. Yes he was a QB/K. Most people associate him with the Raiders. A lot of people don't even know he had an entire career with the Bears. Retired for a year...came back and played another 15 NFL seasons split between Houston and the Raiders. Just a complete icon of old time football
  3. The Oilers? Who hates the Oilers? I don't think anyone cared enough about the Oilers to hate them. Now the Cowboys I could buy.
  4. The old adage that muscle weighs more than fat applies here, I think.
  5. I kinda buy it. His legs are freaking tree trunks. Lots of muscle mass. Bosa has skinnier legs.
  6. With Logue, who I thought played well and Phillips on the PS, it wouldn't shock me if they don't see a need at DT. I expect Logue to take Oliver's spot on the 53 man roster once he's placed on IR, likely sometime this week.
  7. Sad to see he's getting them out of his system this week.
  8. They kept him together with glue and tape til JJ McCarthy was ready. The ol Kevin Stefanski method
  9. But he doesn't use those pounds. And Davis can't seem to find a hole. Give me a RB like Gore that can run through the opening and not into the back of an OLman. Looks like Mr. McGoo trying to run. Gore also seems to fall forward when brought down. Davis gets pushed back or ripped to the side. Remember, extra pounds doesn't always equate to extra power.
  10. Like many here, I'm hoping... PRAYING...for Beane to make some moves in the next week and shore up our WR and Safety spot. And now after losing Big Ed yesterday, possibly the DT spot. I mean, overpay at this point if you have to. Do SOMETHING. But glancing around the NFL at the teams with records that would normally be "sellers" this time of year shows that there may not be teams willing to move players. In the AFC the bottom feeders are: - The Jets and Dolphins. I really don't see either team lining up to trade anyone of value to a division rival. Yes, teams do at times trade within the division. But it's very unlikely they would send us a Waddle or Wilson at the WR spot to have to face them twice a year. - Cleveland. This is a team that should be selling whatever it can. Jerry Jeudy has a big dead cap hit if they move him. - Cincinnati and Baltimore. Both teams have talked themselves into still being in it. Baltimore may have a shot. I think Cincinnati is fooling themselves thinking they can make it til Burrow comes back. But neither team is a big seller right now. - Raiders. Possibly the only team really looking to move a WR, and that's not 100%. Supply and demand have a big gap this year, so them getting a haul for Jakobi Meyers isn't out of the question. - Tennessee. They have begun moving players, sending McCreary to the Rams. They have been firm that DT Simmons is NOT available. Trouble is they don't have much else. Calvin Ridley has been hurt. Looking at the NFC, It doesn't get better. Giants- probably should be selling but both Schoen and Daboll are probably fighting for their jobs. Now with losing Skattabo a long with Malik earlier in the year, it doesn't look good for them. Saints- Have reportedly told teams Olave is staying put. But they are a cupboard that can and probably will be raided. One of Shaheed or Cooks are probably on the move. Cardinals - Another team that should be selling what they can. Problem is aside from maybe Budda Baker...what else do they have? I don't see them moving Harrison, and their next best receiver is probably Zay Jones. Yes, that Zay Jones. Is there another team out there that should be selling? Probably the Vikings, but I think they land in the same camp the Ravens and Bengals are with the whole "fake it til we make it" outlook. All in all, I expect this to be a pretty quiet week leading up to the trade deadline for all teams. The buyers definitely out number the sellers. This is also a good chance to remind people, that even if the Bills make zero trades, that doesn't mean Beane wasn't on the phone attempting to make a move or three. It just means no deals were struck. I have confidence Beane and company are shopping as much as possible. But after looking around, the shelves may just be bare.
  11. Yeah, I'm definitely in the "just do SOMETHING" camp at WR at the moment. I really don't care about the cost. Just somebody or a couple some bodies that can create separation. Doesn't even have to be a big name...raid practice squads, look at the FA market, overpay for somebody.
  12. Case in point. Raiders wanting a day 2 pick for someone to get 8 games of Meyers. A guy that's gonna likely be a FA anyway. No thanks.
  13. In all honesty, a slot corner may be a nice get. Taron has been having rough days.
  14. My opinion is, this season will be what it will be. The older I get the more I focus on just enjoying the games one by one. Enjoying the time with friends and family that come with the games. A Super Bowl win would be amazing in my lifetime. But if not, it is what it is. Gone are the days that I sit up unable to sleep pondering possible trades. If we hit the one seed, if we make it in as a Wild Card, it is what it will be. I have no control over it
  15. Highly drafted not that long ago. Kinda sets the idea what a CB may cost us. Would have been more upset we didn't make the move if Mad Max didn't show some promise yesterday.
  16. That's the key. Front offices find ways to make it work. Wasn't that long ago we were told the Bills couldn't move Diggs because bof the money.
  17. Now I didn't watch that game obviously. Perhaps you can answer this. With Cleveland having such a poor offense, what kind of starting field position did the Pats have yesterday? How long were their drives?
  18. He looked very solid and competent, especially for a young guy that missed so much time. I expect him to take some lumps next week. And that's fine. Keep getting him snaps and experience leading to the post season. Hopefully, he makes Tre Obsolete soon.
  19. Yeah, I gave him props during the game and even in the game balls thread. Year after year people call for him to be released. He's a heck of a football player. Expect him to see a lot of snaps next week too. They like to use him against Kansas City.
  20. This has always been the most likely outcome barring a Herschel Walker type offer
  21. Well, being the drum beat is that Olave and BTJ are not likely to be moved at all... Shaheed is the only plausible guy there...so it's time to think outside what has been discussed. That's why I brought up Jeudy a few days ago, myself. We need talent. Scheme can be adjusted but talent can't be taught.
  22. Should be a good test. Hoping Washington gives them a physical game tonight.
  23. I don't think he would cost much in trade either. Browns got him for a 5th and 6th. Offer a third and the Browns feel like they turned a profit. Then, make a move for Shaheed, or even someone like Mecole Hardman who is a FA.
  24. The Pats have proven they can beat up bad teams and capitalize against good teams that have an off day. Yes, their coaching is better and credit to Maye, he's really good. They are playing with confidence right now. But this is the NFL. Sooner or later they will drop a game or two that they are expected to win. Then the shine will be off them.
