  1. Agree. Ford looks terrible so far. And I've been beating this drum for a few days and I'll continue. Unless he makes it back to practice soon and is healthy I don't see Damien Harris making this team. Having a RB with habitually sore knees is like owning a Corvette that has transmission issues. Looks pretty, but isn't going to take you anywhere. He's missed a lot of time now and I personally feel like Murray passed him up...and Mims is right there too.
  2. I find my reasoning has changed the older I've gotten. I grew up with the 90s teams so I was all about seeing the Bills finally win one when I was younger. Man, I really used to let a Bills loss spoil my whole week and it bled out into other areas of my life. Then the drought hit and it really knocked me on my arse for a few years. About half way through it it became more about the GameDay tradition. The tailgating and spending time with friends I've made through the years. Now? Much of the same. Enjoying watching the Bills once again play competitive football with any team in the league. And while I'll always hope to see them get juuuuust one (at least) before my time is up, at the very least being able to get out with friends, meet now people and be part of a community bigger than imaginable keeps me around. Much like many, a rather high percentage of my daily attire is Bills related. And just hearing "GO BILLS" wherever I am...be it the grocery store, Disney Land, WrestleMania, the Grand Canyon, and even perhaps a gentleman's club or two always makes me feel right at home.
  3. IMO he definitely has a path to the 53. With how he's looked in both PS games and the woeful OL play around the NFL, he's one I don't think they can sneak back onto the PS. I would bet someone would take a chance on him.
  4. Van Demark has been 1st guy up after Dawkins at LT so far if I'm not mistaken. Has has looked very solid against other backups. This isn't a slam against him, it's just what it is. I don't think he's ready to start right now, but could develop into that. I know @HappyDayshas been tracking Van Demark closely and can maybe speak to that a bit better.
  5. The guy in the CMC jersey is out 4-6 weeks...
  6. Yes, I wrote what I wrote. And you clearly missed the point. You keep reading things in based on your own interpretation and trying to tell me what I meant. Not the first time I've seen you do this either. Ironically, what I said was proven for the most part true. Look at the people knee jerk reacting that he can't do it...then look at their post history on McDermott. I really don't need your attempts to explain to me what I meant. This is a "YOU" problem that I will no longer entertain.
  7. Looks like a knock off Kevin Owens to me🤣🤣
  8. Don't remember either of his first two off-season stints. Likely won't remember this one either.
  9. His name.....is Dalton.
  10. Listen dude, if you aren't able to tell the difference between someone being absolute with fact and someone answering a "yes/no" question on a written forum....that's on you. IN MY OPINION. You read way to much into a simple statement IN MY OPINION. Really don't need a lecture on "the best way to convince someone that McD is absolutely, without question, one of them." as I feel like you have missed the point entirely. IN MY OPINION. *Note the above stated is only AN OPINION of someone on a football message board.
  11. At least it was free...
  12. I mean, if he has a winner in mind that's cool and no, there is no need to announce it. I get that. I'm sure there is some coach speak there. Point is if you take his words at face value and he's still pondering who will start it really makes me question his ability be decisive. Yeah, I get that he likely isn't going to throw someone under the bus here...but he went from being "concerned" to they handled it well....after that game? Dude needs sew glasses...and NOT from the Sally Jesse Raphael line.
  13. He felt Dodson handled the defense well?😬 How on the green Earth is this still a battle? Kinda calling out the offense it sounds to me.
  14. Thank you! On Quess- I would agree that he shouldn't be a lock. Except that we just lost 2 OTs and he has experience in the system. I think Anderson has a solid chance at a PS spot. Ankou and Kingsley are 2 guys I like. I think they are up and coming and would hate to lose them. Unfortunately, I think it becomes a numbers game for one if not both. I've liked what I've seen of Howard as well. Has a nose for the ball. And Mims is really coming on. He's a guy I didn't know a lot about but was put onto by @GunnerBill. Did some bookwork on him myself and he's very impressive to me. I think he should have a real shot to make it.
  15. Revised Roster Projection After 2 preseason games. Bold means locked in. Italicized indicates in the conversation for a spot. Normal type are the guys on the outside looking in IMO. Here we go. QB: Josh Allen, Kyle Allen, Matt Barkley Changes: Kyle Allen locked in. After stumbling most of TC and preseason week 1, it appears that Kyle Allen is setting in as QB2. This has just as much to do with his play against the Steelers as it does with Barkley fumbling (literally) his opportunity away. This is still a position that is weak outside Josh. RB: James Cook, Latavius Murray, Reggie Gilliam, Jordan Mims, Damien Harris, Evans Changes: Harris unlocked. Mims in the conversation. The door is, IMO creaked open. Damien Harris and his sore knee has given opportunity to the rest of the field and I believe they are moving past him. Murray has shown good burst. I believe he can be Cook's handcuff. Evans has ability to play ST as well as RB. And UDFA Jordan Mims has shown very well IMO. Pending on the knee outlook, Harris may find himself without a seat when the music stops. WR: Stefon Diggs, Gabe Davis, Trent Sherfield, Harty, Shorter, Shakir, Isabella, Shavers, Coulter, Patmon, Johnson. Changes: Locked in both Harty and Shorter In my original projection I didn't have Harty locked because I wanted to see his usage first. Saw it last night and it seemed at first look that he led 1st team slot snaps. That's what I wanted to see. Shorter had a nice game last night and, though he hasn't flashed for me on ST I believe he has done enough to earn a spot. Ultimately, I expect the final WR spot to come down to Shakir or Isabella. TE: Dawson Knox, Dalton Kincaid, Morris, Sternberger, Wilson Changes: Morris with the slant.. Knox and Kincaid are surefire locked in. Right now I believe Morris leads the field for TE3. OL: Dawkins, McGovern, Morse, Bates, Brown, Torrence, Quessenberry, Edwards, Van Demark and a cast of many others Changes: Shell and Doyle removed. Quess locked in. Van Demark has entered the conversation. Let me start by saying I am not a fan of Quess's play. Good dude. Good story. But I was hoping he would be upgraded. With Doyle looking done and Shell walking away, I believe that locks him in as the experienced swing T. Edwards hasn't looked bad and I expect him to make the team. Maybe some looks at RT may be in order? Speaking of tackles..this Van Demark has impressed. I expect Buffalo to sign someone this week to take Doyle's spot. In my original projection I had 16 locks...that number is now at 19. Also have 6 near lock/in the hunt spots being possible.. On to the defense! DL: Groot, Floyd, Von, Jones, Oliver, Lawson, AJE, Boogie, Phillips, Settle, Ford, Ray, Ankou, Kingsley, "the rest" Changes: Ford from lock to "outside looking in" He's been that bad. Lawson, AJE and Boogie to me are locked. Insert token "depending on if Von starts on PUP" comment here. Is it just me or has Boogie actually flashed more than AJE this preseason? I can still see a trade out of this group. Phillips coming back to health is needed because Poona looks to have been a complete flop. Not sure he makes it at this point. LB: Matt Milano, Williams, Bernard, Matakevich, Klein, Dodson, Spector, Howard Changes: Bernard, Klein, Matakevich locked in. Dodson is vulnerable. Ultimately, I expect them to keep Dodson. Hard to justify him going from leader at MLB to off the roster completely. However, if one were to go about it under McDermott it would take lack of discipline both on the practice field and matching that with poor play in the game. TDot accomplished both this week playing late in the 4th quarter. CB: White, Jackson, Elam, Benford, Johnson, Lewis, Neal, Ingram, Austin, Brown Changes: Locked in Lewis and Neal. This group is pretty straight forward. Neal looked pretty good against the Steelers at CB as well. S: Hyde, Poyer, Rapp, Hamlin, Marlowe, Anderson, Mayden Changes: Hamlin locked in. Marlowe has been pretty invisible to me in the first 2 games while Hamlin (who did have a few rough reps yesterday) has played physical and looks to be back to himself. ST: Ferguson, Bass, Martin Changes: NONE All locks. However, don't be surprised if Ferguson is released at initial cuts to open a spot if they need to get someone through to IR and brought back right after. Procedure move. That's 27 defense/ST locks I have. Grand total of: 46 roster locks 10 guys in the conversation for the final 7 spots.
  16. The same way others have concluded he cannot. It's an opinion. What it comes down to for me is that Sean is noted as being detail oriented. Sometimes maybe too detailed. I'm certain he has a plan in place for how things will work. And I'm also certain (as he has stated this before) that there may be a time he has to delegate play calling to someone else and keep his HC hat on. He certainly does not lack the mental fortitude to do handle both. I also look at the amount of head coaches around the NFL that lead their offense as comparable. It's not as uncommon a task as some make it out to be.
  17. As William Blake once said: "The fool that persists in his folly will become wise." While I may not understand your pursuit of wisdom, I do commend you on your complete dedication to it.
  18. So, McDermott is the sole coach responsible for teaching basics and fundamentals? He doesn't have an entire coaching staff? If you think it's the head coach working on fundamentals and presnap discipline you clearly have zero idea what the responsibilities of a HEAD coach are as opposed to coordinators and position coaches. However, you did prove my point on it giving his detractors something to whine and complain about. So thank you for being a shining example.
  19. As usual spot on assessment. Right now our top two picks (and I could argue our third rounder as well) bring a lot of optimism. I would like to perhaps add a couple thoughts. First for me, it was a bad night for some guys that are less obvious. First and foremost, Damien Harris. The fact that he missed last week, practiced I think once this week and sat out again isn't a good sign for him. Add in that I thought Jordan Mims showed pretty well both in the goal line package and the 2 minute offense and I'm really wondering if that knee will force the Bills into an "OJ Howard" type surprise cut of Harris. Second, Aaron Kromer. While I don't think he forgot how to coach, I do believe that he's struggling in his return to Buffalo both last year and this year. While it's hard to turn chicken scratch into Chicken Parmesan, I feel like he's failing to get the most of what he has with the vets in the room. Perhaps he and Dorsey are still having "communication issues"? Some things that did impress me even in the loss: Have to start with the aforementioned Mims. While not flashy I really like how slippery he is. Good cut back at the goal line on that TD. Seems to do the little things really well. I am certain he ends up on the PS, but him pushing a limp Harris off the 53 wouldn't be a complete shock to me. I thought Van Demark had some really solid reps as well. I thought both Harty and Sherfield gave a nice sample of what they bring. Mixed with some Kincaid in the slot and the slot position in Buffalo may be the most diverse in the league. I like that.
  20. GMs talk quite frequently. It's my best guess that Beane already knows what teams are good with moving an OT and a rough estimate on the price. When you look at the big picture it may be time to break the glass. Both OTs struggled yesterday. We are now down 2 OTs in Doyle and Shell. And anyone we may look to bring in either FA or trade has to 1. Be inexpensive 2. Be able to be brought up to speed pretty fast.
  21. They need to address it sooner than cut down with the Doyle injury coupled with Shell's retirement. I expect either today or tomorrow we will be notified that they signed an OT (that we likely never heard of) and we get a mixture of "who is this guy" and "Wow, I liked him coming out of college" responses from the peanut gallery.
  22. No, but it will give his detractors something to complain about and theorize over.
  23. Though he was going to be really good coming out of college. Unfortunately, I think he's yet another case of injury ruining a promising career. Best of luck to him in his future endeavors.
  24. Ah, ok I may have misread that point about the 53. I still don't believe all 53 spots are locked in. There's still a lot of backend of the roster battles taking place IMO. As far as what the fans perceive, it's just that...the fans. We see far less of what players are doing so where we believe 2 players may be close...coaches see more and feel different. Not saying their call is 100% spot on...but it is what it is. As far as camp battles at specific positions, I think there were opportunities for certain players to "lock down" the win last night. Had Dodson played better he likely wins the MLB job. He played himself out of the battle IMO. On the other hand Torrence had a shot to really ***** the RG job...and I believe he did just that. Had he looked bad...Bates would have reentered the conversation. CB looks like the battle had been over anyway. Everything that I've seen it's looked like Dane has been locked in as CB2 for a bit now. And like you say, an injury changes a lot of things.
  25. If the decision to start Dodson had been made they wouldn't have him playing that late in the game. He would have come out, stayed out and Spector would have likely come in after AJK to finish out the game. They aren't going to have him in that spot at that stage of the game if he was locked in as starter. The reason I say Kromer may get until the end of the season is that he's there now. McDermott is likely to give him the season to figure it out. Unless there are things behind the walls that we don't know (example, perhaps Kromer is an egomaniac and hard to work with). In any event it looks like he's not the miracle worker some hoped he could be.
