  1. Saying every other pick is a bit overzealous, and I think you're intelligent enough to know that. And while there were a few good picks in round 2 that draft there are a lot of misses early (rounds 1 and 2). Without the time this morning to contrast and compare earlier seasons it looks to the eye to be a higher number of misses league wide then an average year. When you combine the lack of normalcy that year with what looks in retrospect to have been a fairly weak draft class, yeah, it played into that pick.
  2. Wasn't Boogie drafted off the COVID off season? You know, the one that GMs couldn't go to Pro Days, do as much deep digging as usual? Couldn't get in person with the draftees? You know, the season that NFL GMs were pretty much relegated to having only slightly more information available to them than fans normally do? And they missed on that pick? Shocker.
  3. This drives me crazy as well. It's like for years whenever there's a really good LBer in the draft we have to hear people say "Well McD has to have him so he has his Luke Keuchley". Teams that are coached well evolve to the players on the team. They change over time based on a number of things to include how the the league changes. 4 years ago the Diggs/Davis combo was not a bad set of skillets to have at WR. Now with defenses showing more deep looks and taking away the big play what is offense turning into? WR screens. Hello Curtis Samuel. Tougher contested catches and plays in the middle of the field. Hello Keon Coleman. Some pounding runs to keep ahead of the sticks. Hello Ray Davis and Pran-Granger. Sure, we need someone that can stretch the field and be that deep threat. Let's see if they bring in a DJ Chark for that. If KJ Hamler can stay healthy I'm not sleeping on him either. This offense is setting up to play against what NFL defenses are evolving to. Will it work? Time will tell. But I think they are moving in the right direction.
  4. DJ Chark. Speed with boundary experience. Former Panther FWIW as well ..lol In all seriousness, Chark isn't a star but he makes a lot of sense.
  5. I really thought that said we signed @GunnerBillfor a second. May need to find my reading glasses.
  6. Not dismissing him. Anything can happen. But even late picks that have played the sport their whole life, trained and have experience for 15 years have difficulty making a career for themselves. Doing it while trying to learn and train your body at the highest level of the sport adds many new layers of difficulty and unlikeliness. Anything can happen for sure. The road just is a bit tougher.
  7. Cool. Now lost off every International Pathway player and judge the success rate on the whole. Or do you also profess that pick 199 is the best pick of any draft because of Tom Brady?
  8. Not for nothing, but I feel like the majority of picks spent on the International Pathways players are just wasted picks.
  9. LMAO!!! They just did him on Stump the Truck. And they had video on him😂😂😂
  10. This is the guy we pick late that ends up scooped up after final cuts and we can't get back on the PS. Calling it now.
  11. Yes. It's intentional. He drafts by his board. This is what he's always done. At this point an UDFA WR is just as likely to make an impact as a guy taken anyway IMO.
  12. Just for the heck of it...I want the Bills to take Cole Burgess WR from SUNY Cortland.
  13. This has been a draft that has strayed from how Beane normally conducts things. In the past if we saw multiple visits, top 30 ect they were a good bet. This year all of the guys that they showed the most interest in...they passed over multiple times.
  14. Well, I think Bishop will have his chance. If not start I think he'll see some significant snaps. The Center from Georgia supposed is good enough to complete. And while most don't want to think about it right now...Keon Coleman starts day 1. Beane pretty much laid that out last night IMO.
  15. Our late picks are important for that reason. With a team without as many projected open roster spots it makes it harder for an UDFA to make teams like Buffalo, KC, SF. So if there's someone there they want better draft em.
  16. Did I see that right? 16 sacks last year? Man, dude can close it down. Add into that the ONE thing that we can still count on with Von Miller is his teaching camp being pretty good...this guy has potential to learn from someone with a ton of knowledge. This could be a steal. Or he could flame out of the league. What the hell do I know😂
  17. As for your first question, he said yesterday he wasn't planning on moving up round 4. This shouldn't be a shock. There was still value on the board when they picked as per his draft board. And he has already turned one of those 5ths into a 4th next year. Pretty nice day at the office. As per your second question, of course there will be guys drafted that make rosters drafted late. Practice squads as well. It's about finding value meeting need meeting fit this late.
  18. I get that. After the way Bass finished the year last year I'm considering moving my #2 jersey back to a Peterman jersey.
  19. Super. Again, what do their medicals (which he does not have access to) look like? What about their interviews with teams? How deep does he dip into each players background and interview past teammates? A draft analyst looks at film and gives his perspective based off that (which is subjective). We are in the 150s. If his opinion was shared by the teams those players wouldn't have gotten passed over. Obviously, for whatever reason 32 NFL GMs disagree.
  20. Cool. What team is Brugler working for? As we all should know by now media and "experts" draft boards are very different than actual teams draft boards. Bet Brugler had T'Vondre Sweat and AD Mitchell taking up spots on his board as well. I can say with confidence that they (along with many other players) were off of some team boards like players are every year. When experts say they have "150" draftable grades, it's not taking into account medicals, behavioral issues, scheme specific gradings. Many teams boards are much smaller
  21. So far those 3 4th with the 2 2nds. Beans has a chance to be really active at the trade deadline this year and not cost us any net loss.
