  1. I have. And ditto on the UConn stuff (especially Starter jackets, usually soiled). It kind of cheapens it for those us us who actually went to the U.
  2. At times he did. At times he didn't. At times he made great reads. At other times, he tried to gun it to a guy when there was an open, high-completion option available.
  3. Don't forget those lousy Democrats!
  4. Yup. I saw that too. One where he had a screen available, wide open. He did not look 5 degrees to the left and instead threw it to Evans(?) downfield in double coverage. Completed the pass, but sh--, man! Despite the bigger stats, I would say (the second half especially) this week's game was a slight regression in terms of JP seeing the field and playing smart rather than relying wholly on his arm.
  5. Nevermind fans of other teams.... The only time I went to the Ralph, I was harrassed by drunk Bills fans. Apparently in 1997, wearing a Jim Kelly jersey was a major faux pas.
  6. Couldn't have been the conditions..... Vs. Pitt two years ago, Lindell missed a 28-yarder in similar conditions where the wind stopped it dead in the air. He made a 32-yarder yesterday. Have you ever tried kicking a FG, nevermind kicking in 20-30 mph winds and 40 mph gusts? Lindell and Moorman weren't the problem.
  7. Anyone see the montage of Brady whining like a little B word and looking desperately to the refs for pass interference or whatever calls w/ 9 min. left in the game? Well, he got quite a few. There were about 20 clips in it, which was about 1/3 of their offensive plays, and NBC likely didn't show them all. I know Tom is used to getting blowj--s from the refs, but they do need to come up for air every few hours.
  8. Only 1 team from the AFC plays in the SB per season out of 16 teams. Pennington's got what... 5 years left? If his arm holds up. Your contentions notwithstanding (and I think they're spot on), this is a bet that only someone who eats Retard-Sandwiches would make.
  9. I tried to say suggest as much last week and got flamed. I think Nate is playing it safe enough to be judged on his previous years' work rather than what he may do this year. He runs into the blocker b/c then he can say he was blocked, rather than risk whiffing or getting injured. It's NOT a good thing to have a big-ticket player who knows he's going to be playing somewhere else next season.... (continued below) ... for mad money b/c it's been shown time and again, there WILL]/I] be teams stupid enough to shell out big contracts, and with the new cap, they'll get even bigger. If he didn't get a long-term deal last off-season for what he wants, he's sure as sh-- not going to get it next year. If it was going to happen, it would have. Instead, Marv picked Youboty. Nate can read the writing on the wall.
  10. Sorry, Ramius, but.... Schoebel is the guy who's there for the coverage sack. And not a lot more.
  11. One also was on Leon Washington's long screen. As you said, we sent the house and there was all kinds of green for him.
  12. Well... what was the injury?
  13. Awesome, that.
  14. Well, it would help if we got to play against the Browns. If you remember our very own defensive shut-out game a couple-few years ago....
  15. The second half was Pennington feasting on his bread and butter. The D can only do so much against it.
  16. Ehh.... I think they punt there rather than go for 50+ on a day like today. If I knew it was going to be a fake, I'm sure Mangini did too. But, agreed that the fake (and 4th down call) took wind out of our sails.
  17. The defense didn't do enough?!? Sorry to be the partypooper, but in the 2nd half the defense has a winning case for nonsupport. Shouldn't expect them to be able to pitch shutouts every week while JP's working out the kinks.
  18. The D has historically had a problem getting anywhere near Pennington. He does a great job of dumping the ball off to someone. One of the many things that haven't gone right today.
  19. No link online yet, but in the Oct issue, there's a great article on the hunt for artifacts stolen from the Iraq National Museum in the days after the invasion. There's a book written by the subject of this article, Col. Matthew Bogdanos, called "Theives of Baghdad." He's called the Indiana Jones of Baghdad. I remember at the time, seeing the looters even while we were in Baghdad and shaking my head that we weren't doing anything about it. Priceless works were irreparably damaged. In hindsight, there was less stolen than previously thought --- ~14,000 pieces. In the article, the AL asks Bogdanos about the lack of security at the INM, and he went into a tangent about archaeologists for the last 20 years staying mum about atrocities.... Interesting to find out now that stolen antiquities smuggling is a source of $ for the terrorist activities since we've clamped down on the traditional funneling of funds.
  20. You know, there's a reading of that poem (I think it was in that show "Ed" a few years back) that says Frost was trying to say how alienated we are from our neighbors, how we put up walls to keep other people out... That reading has no merit to anyone who has ever built/repaired a stone wall with another person. I've done stonemasonry since grad. Defining the borders (literal and figurative) of our space for a few hours while working together is not a bad thing.
  21. I propose that you use my uncle's method. And wait until they're doing something in the yard so they see you. Sometimes you have to be blunt to get the message across.
  22. He apparently had a touch of the bug. Whichever way it was, I wouldn't wanna be the one to clean the toilet bowl.
  23. There's something else that stops after you get married, too....
  24. Me neither, but that's probably it. The bar buddy is probably thinking of Keith Byars.
