It all comes down to who Beane wants as QB. Let's say, for example, his heart is set on Rosen. You try working a trade with the team that you will most likely need to in order to position yourself to get him, come hell or high water. So, we need to work a trade with the Giants in order to almost guarantee we get him but the Giants won't budge. What now? Do you try to work a trade with the Colts and hope that 1) they make it happen, 2) the Giants don't take Rosen before you, 3) grab the next best QB if Rosen is gone and pretend that is who you wanted all of this time? I'm not gonna worry about it. I think our GM & HC will do a good job next month.

Draft QB: Worst Case Scenario
Disgusted ills fan replied to BuffaloButt's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Devil's advocate here: We could just as easily be saying "I'm glad we didn't draft Watson" had he had a bad season. Because he didn't, we now say "Dang, I wish we took him". Hindsight is an electron microscope. Mahomes, however, hasn't proven anything to me yet. Let him get a couple of full seasons under his belt first before we start chewing on our own guts for not drafting him. One last thing on Watson; he may not be the same QB after coming back from his injury. I, for one, will wait until after this draft before I start on the 'Should've, would've, could've" bandwagon. -
Never Trade Up -- Here's Why

You should seriously send a copy of this to McDermott and Beane. Seriously. -
What comes first Egg or Chicken?
Disgusted ills fan replied to Ned Kelly's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My point is this: With all of the questions about do we draft a QB this year, do we move up to get him, who do we take, will they get killed behind our O-line, etc., all of that may not matter because we may just do a draft & stash this year. For example, we make some trades and move up in the first to grab Rosen and have him ride the bench for the year until we finish getting the rest of the team fixed or until he's ready. Steve Young, Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, etc., all didn't start right away. -

Who said our future QB from this draft will even start this year? He may carry a clipboard for the entire season for all we know. -
Why I would be happy with Lamar Jackson

I wouldn't hate the pick. If he's there at 21, take him. -
I think you should convert to a WNBA fan ASAP!

Eagles Use Fake Walk Through Before SB

But not all Super Bowl matchups against NFC East teams resulted in losses, though. They did beat Philly once. -
Nice feedback, everyone. I'm just playing devil's advocate with this topic. Personally, I like the idea of the Bills doing whatever they've gotta do to get the QB that they want and hope that they not only get him, whatever the cost, but he is who they hope he will be. With so many QB needy teams, we have to be aggressive to get our guy and we can always try and fill some of our holes with F/A signings or just give our rookie QB time to mature by having him hold the clipboard this season while we finish building our team next year; not necessarily stoned but uh, beautiful. (Thanks, Jimi Hendrix, for that line!)

I guess if next year's class looks kind of weak, we could just take him now. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I guess my take on this is why give up so much 'draft capital' in the upcoming draft just so we can get our future franchise QB when there are so many holes on the team to fill. Use the 21st & 22nd to get a DT and C. Use the 2nd rounder for a LB, etc. There are plenty of players that we need and should get them this draft. If we can't sign a FA QB, then draft him next year. Why move up to pick one of the desired QBs when he'll just get killed on a team that is not ready for him? Besides, the Patriots look like they're not ready to roll over and play dead so they'll probably be on a mission next season. Let's use next year to build a team that is ready to take over the East in 2019.

Does anybody have any idea what the QBs might look like for next year's draft? If we can't get our guy in this year's draft, would it make sense for the Bills to use all of their draft picks to fill as many holes as possible, tank this upcoming season, and then draft their QB next year? We could shore up both lines, get our LB, RB, WR, and salary cap situation straightened out, etc. Your thoughts?

Another low from Pat's Fan

At my old job, my brother and I used to sit in one particular coworker's chair (the cushioned kind) every time we had to fart. We worked night shift so the victim was never there when his chair was getting shelled about 20 times a night. After a couple of weeks, we came to work one evening and his chair was gone, replaced with a new one. -

Wait, we have two #1 picks. Why don't we trade them to the Rams for Sammy?
