I'll have to spend some time searching for it, but I remember hearing Beane say in an interview - I'm pretty sure the Bills scouts flew to Wyoming to watch him play - That what they saw in person was more valuable than what they saw on the field. How he interacted with his teammates on the sideline. The leader that he was, the desire to win are things that you just can't teach. As others have posted, I think they saw his deficiencies as things that could be coached/fixed - mechanics, experience, talent around him. They placed as much value on his leadership qualities and that fire/desire to be the best and to win at all costs (which can't be taught/coached) as they did on the on-field product. It’s such an important part of playing that position because we all know you’re going to have those days or weeks when you lose three in a row, how’s he going to respond, can he handle adversity?” What Beane saw then, he sees now, which is why he and the Bills are so excited about Allen’s future.

I live in Concord, and there are at least six (that I know of - meaning I either know them personally, or I see Bills flags/merch when I drive by) houses in my neighborhood that are Bills fans. There's not another out-of-town team that I know of that has more than maybe 1 house that flies flags of those teams. There's even this special one - used to fly Patriots flags, now have TB Bucs stickers all over their cars 😆

Glad for Hauschka. Overall good dude that you hated to see lose his job, but the kid beat him out fair and square. Glad to see him find employment.

Really? The way I remember it (and I don't think my memory is THAT bad... it was only like 4-5 hours ago), our team outscored the Los Angeles Rams, 35-32. Just double checked. Yeah, I remembered it correctly. Welcome to the NFL where the other guys get paid a shitload of money to try to win also. And don't forget, this was a Super Bowl team two years ago, and is largely unchanged since then.

The reason I love Josh Allen is because this is all he cares about. The TEAM is 3-0. Even though he's playing lights out, he doesn't care about personal stats and records. He cares about the team.

I know... DB's love to throw the hands up and it's like almost an automatic admission of guilt. Like you'd be better off NOT throwing your hands up because it just makes you look guilty.

He's probably the 65th best QB out of 34, based on their manual.

Yeah. Had 2 RZ turnovers in that game that killed that stat. Should be much better after a 5-5 Red Zone performance today. And it was. I don't know that I'd have called it PI, but it was definitely illegal contact without a doubt. Would have only been 5 yards instead of a spot foul, but still would have been an automatic first down.

Took a year or so off my life... but damn. Josh Freaking Allen. This kid is incredible. If there are any Josh Allen haters left on this board, I'd love to chat with them. I know it's early, but this kid should be in the talk for league MVP at this point of the season.

I hated the pick. I wanted Rosen. I was devastated when they said "Allen" instead of "Rosen". Especially how well Beane had worked the plan to get to #7 to get a QB without mortgaging the future. It was masterful. And then the picked... ALLEN???!?!?!? I couldn't believe it. I said to myself, "typical Bills." But I'll say, I realized I was wrong pretty quick. I was in Allen's corner not long after he took over the starting job. The performance he had as a rookie in Minnesota against a FAR superior Vikings team sealed it for me. It showed that while raw, the talent was there. It all came down to how they could develop that raw talent into pro-level talent. And watching his progression has been absolutely incredible. I went from hating the pick, to owning a Josh Allen jersey before the start of his 2nd year.
