He’s good but not great and because we are desperate you simply can’t let him walk. This is a result of Beane not finding an elite guy at end. His hand was sort of forced to sign Groot. Do I think he would be more productive with better DT play or a better opposite DE? For sure . But as it stands now that contract is on the fair to ok side . Banking on potential more than production

Bernard looked all pro the year before when we had actual production from our DT’s. Its a more than fair contract and he’s a leader and makes plays

If he takes a pay cut and becomes our #3 DE because we’ve upgraded I’d be real happy with that

Defense Its what has cost us time and time again in the playoffs

Now we have Garrett, Hendrickson and DK available Beane HAS to bring in one of these guys or we can likely just expect the same . We need an elite difference maker

Essentially is shows he’s still a top 10 pass rusher when he faces double teams. Hes in the 20’s 1 on 1. The further up and to the right = better performance It also shows how absurd Myles Garrett is and not even TJ Watt is in his hemisphere Garrett is on another few levels above the league
