Super Bowl - Are you likely to go?
DaggersEOD replied to Captain Caveman's topic in The Stadium Wall
My wife is from Nola, so I was on Bourbon St for the SB Watch / Win celebration. What an amazing blast of a time!! I’d MUCH rather take a trip to Buffalo to watch / celebrate with the real fans. I’m telling you. THAT is the place to be IMO. -
Yeah my assessment was all gut/recollection and your numbers shoot down my recollection of the Bears abandoning the run compared to us. That said, the Bears D still seemed a lot less nimble and our RBs seemed like they were able to take advantage. Like their cuts/cutbacks worked when usually it seems like they don’t.
-
I think the cold weather had a lot to do with our rushing performance. Both Ds seemed to be playing with concrete shoes. inexplicably, the Bears decided to stop running while we, fighting all team tendencies, kept at it and the score reflected those decisions. Again, just eyeball observations.

Continuing yards after catch (YAC) mystery
DaggersEOD replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall
Eyeball/gut answer is that JAs arm allows him to get balls through very tight windows leaving the ball carrier with little to no space to work with once they make the catch. It’s almost like all the YAC is sucked up in the “air yards” the ball travels. Im not a stats ninja but perhaps there’s a statistical relationship between air yards and YAC. Meaning more air yards tend to result in less YAC while less air yards tend to result in more YAC. It would be interesting to see where our pass catchers rank in “air yards/catch”. I guess what I’m saying is shorter routes equal more YAC and that’s not our game. -
I don’t know the answer to your question but these guys are likely doped up prior to the game and get some in-game “treatments” in the tents. Guys carried/limping into the tent, leave 5 min later “testing the knee” doing sprints on the sideline 😬 Im sure there is a cool off period after each game where the “adrenaline” wears off and they start assessing the damage they did that week.

Pats fans lose to Nazis, according to "Mythic Quest"

It must’ve been one of those “Not all pats fans are zoophiles, but all zoophiles are pats fans” thing. -

A Few Thoughts about the AFC East Run, in no particular order
DaggersEOD replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
2. With that being said, it's noticeable how much better scripted plays and open routes these other teams are able to generate on the field. On almost half the offensive plays, it seems like the opposing QB's are able to find their receiver within their first two reads, while Josh is out there making things up on the fly. I think this is a result of the Bills being the #1 team in the AFC. We’re consistently getting their best shots, while we’re trying to save our best stuff for the playoffs. They empty their shelves, going against tendencies, setting up plays w/formations and motion, all trying to get an edge against one of the best teams in the NFL. We, on the other hand are trying to establish tendencies to be exploited in the post-season. We’re saving our easy plays for 3rd and 6 in the AFCCG or beyond. Im HOPING that we’re “saving our powder” and that we’ll see the unleashed Bills O in Jan. -
Sean McDermott - master of the saying nothing

I think these interviews are relics of an earlier age in sports-watching. In the information/data overload age we’re currently in, the sideline interview offers no new info or insight. What would it be replaced with? -
Maybe the cool ones are wise enough to avoid you ✌️

I was 100% happy with the decision. If we can control the last play of the game, you do it. It was a 25(ish) yard FG, in the middle of the field and as others were mentioning, the footing seemed to be pretty good. Bass looked comfortable with his practice “swings” and the O had two timeouts to clear whatever surface snow accumulated. That said, until I saw the kick split the uprights, I was planning out OT in my head like a good Bills fan 😅😁 -
Is There So Little Love for Tremaine Edmunds?
DaggersEOD replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall
Man he’s really turned it around this year. I’ve been pretty down on TE to this point but I’ll admit, he won me over. The way I’ve grown to understand this D, it requires a space eating plug/DT(s) in the middle and a MLB capable of taking away the middle of the field. The CB’s, S’s and to some extent the DEs are all system players. Put me in the Must Sign camp for now. -
That’s what I’m saying. Like a “pick up the flag” buzzer. Trying my best to think of what a counter-argument could be… …the only thing I can think of is that refs could argue that being overturned is embarrassing so having that potential “humiliation” on the line, they may decide to not throw a flag… ..Over time, that could lead to less penalties being called, therefore a more dangerous game? Then the “abundance of caution” (ie for no good reason) mindset could kick in… …but that’s stretching. The only resistance would be from ref egos.
-
If they were to do this, it would have to be a New York call like they do for “easy call” corrections I’m real time. BTW, those have been great. If we leave it to the ref to admit he made a mistake, it’ll be the whole PI review thing all over again. They will never overturn a call they made. Like he said 👆

The 3rd route…yeah, I think he’d be open. Looking a lot better than I thought he would. I see nothing but upside here. -

EXACTLY! Their combo route was the killer for the last two years. You could tell when they were using it because whenever a drive started with a Beas catch, the drive was typically successful. Two years ago, (or 3?) when he entered the playoffs with a broken leg, I think they decided the next year to save that package for the playoffs. Beas was available and the O was successful. 13 seconds. I think this combo route is the KEY to getting this O, and Gabe, back on track -

I honestly thought we had a super deep WR room full of young talent when the year started, and I don’t think I was alone. It just didn’t pan out that way for some reason. I’m ok with them not resigning themselves to the cards they had in hand and getting some of the old reliable card back. Not ideal in any way, but I understand the thought process in the beginning of the year and am ok with the moves they’ve made these past two weeks (Brown/Beas) -

Come on man you gotta let go of the hate. It just simmers in there if you don’t and you end up over-reacting to message board posts. It was a crazy time in human history and people were just trying to do what they thought was best. Some on one side, some on the other and like in every case, both sides were proven wrong in some aspect. We survived, so let’s move on.
