  1. i agree 12th is a bit generous and i'm a pretty big allen guy around here. i dont think its outrageous though, as i have had him pegged in the 14-18 range for any given sunday since about midseason of last year. White definitely should have been in the top 3 corners IMO. but some of this voting is a reputation thing. he puts together another elite season and thats where he'll be. was pleasantly surprised to see diggs land in the top 10 on the list. It's clear the guy didnt get nearly the respect from the media he deserves over the last couple of years. I think that was just due to his situation and scheme but once you watch the highlights his hands are just, WOW..... Adam schein just posted an article yesterday listing his top wr's and Diggs came in at 9. Pretty cool seeing our team with these sorts of ascending talents. I 100% expect Edmunds to make next years list as well.
  2. You were off by ten. So you were about as wrong as you usually are with regards Allen.
  3. That and it was probably miserable playing for bellicheck even during a normal season let alone one like this.
  4. I’m not a big fan of this. Just setting up that huge asterisk next to your name after we win a division title this year..... that we were gonna win anyways
  5. I also thought he’d be top 30. I guess maybe he just hasn’t had enough of those elite type seasons like last year. If he has something similar again in 2020 he’ll be a shoe in for top 30 or even 20 next year I would think.
  6. Little low for tre IMO. Nothing to be ticked about or anything but I honestly thought he may crack the top 30. just hasn’t been playing at a true elite level long enough. He puts together another season similar to this last one and he’ll be there.
  7. My goodness these diggs catches in his highlights are other worldly.
  8. so because allen isnt nearly as good as 2 of the top 5 players in the whole NFL(mahomes and wilson), he shouldnt be in the top 100. solid logic here.... and comparing offensive linemans one on one matchups to a qb dealing with a whole defense isnt the greatest argument. especially because he mentioned tunsil. Didnt hughes line up over him for his 3 sacks in the wildcard game? this is nothing to get legitimately worked up over, but its sorta silly reasoning. Gotta agree with @GunnerBill. He just needs something to rant about during a quiet stretch.
  9. i'd argue he's in the 14-18 range in tier 3. but it seems pretty fair regardless.
  10. oh look. Biscuit97 comes into an Allen thread that has something positive to it and tells us all how overrated said topic is. SHOCKING..... in other news, the sky is blue and water is wet! i'm left here wondering how a QB that was destined to fail because of his lack of small school dominance could ever be voted to such a list by his professional peers. maybe biscuit could explain that to us all.
  11. Twitter is going ballistic right now over Allen. It’s like a toddler throwing a tantrum just stomping and shaking their head. I honestly will never understand the hate for dude that keeps a relatively low profile in a small market. It’s odd
  12. The huge divide between the positives I hear actual former qb’s and former/current players say about him compared to the media and analytics crowd is just so crazy to me. That Big Bang you may have just heard was the analytics departments collective heads exploding.
  13. Except that he didn’t have for “wtf” moments than he did “ups”. The dude was and is a work in progress coming off a season where he had a mere 13 total turnovers to 29 total tds. Then there’s the 10 wins. That’s not more wtf’s than positives. you have historically rational posters telling you that you look sorta silly at the moment. Maybe take a moment, gather some sense, and come back later.
  14. I’d like to go on record that I’m fairly certain I didn’t contribute even one measly comment to this 70 page behemoth until just now. that is all
  15. It doesn’t mean anything when he’s already played better as a pro in a harder league than he ever did in the mountain west. At that point it’s silly to even bring up. if he wasn’t constantly improving and totally outplaying his college days it might hold some water. But that’s not the case in the least. Onward and upward quick question. When his improvement continues and Allen’s comp % naturally migrates up over 60 this year are you still gonna use his cumulative career % to keep pushing the narrative or finally let it go and admit he’s on the right trajectory?..... that basically 98% of everyone else already sees.
  16. Agreed. Solid points all around... But i just love the original thought that his career up to this point has already kind of put to rest the whole "crappy college production" argument. If it mattered at all, he would have simply been atrocious as a pro. And thats just not the case.
  17. my goodness, this is just a great response to biscuits broken record argument about allens college production. Very nicely done.
  18. It definitely does suck for the fringe guys. Maybe I’m grasping here but I think a team with our setup has a clear advantage going into the first month. Whole staff returning. 20 of 22 starters returning on a playoff squad. One new starter(Addison) has played in the scheme basically his whole career and the other(diggs) is a CLEAR upgrade over anyone that was playing opposite of brown. To me, that seems like a team set up to perform in the current situation
  19. He was obviously a long shot but I was really looking forward to seeing if he could replicate some the open field ability and speed he showed last preseason.
  20. "Allens season was somewhat of a mirage"...... AKA he actually improved and wasnt a complete bust so his improvement was obviously luck because it doesnt jive with all of our over the top takes on him. these friggin guys ?
  21. i agree that an argument can be made that an elite interior rusher can be just as, if not more, valuable than and edge rusher.
  22. your conclusion there is really the most important point of all. not many, if any, duo's do it better than those 2. i'd put poyer in that 15-20 range most likely. which is pretty solid considering there are 64 starting in the NFL.
  23. Just tossed the safeties into this thread... no poyer, but hyde came in at 10.
  24. Was just thinking the same thing. As if these players are the only ones that have to go make a living while having a family at home. and let’s be real. These players will most likely have access to testing and other sources that the cashier at the local grocery store doesn’t have.
  25. good info. thanks. if he's in that 10-14 range i cant argue with it too much.
