  1. This is where I am from an ethical standpoint & I think pro-life groups should focus on the tech piece, as we know babies can feel pain as early as 15 weeks, maybe earlier. (Likely earlier as we learn more about development through advances in technology) Its a truly ghoulish discourse because the right wants to act like all these late trimester abortions of healthy babies are happening.. they’re not, but in the second trimester, some are due to various issues outside health. But then the left wants to pretend the baby is akin to a blob of cells, which is hard to reconcile when a baby recoils as its life is taken by a needle headshot or dismemberment…
  2. Thats essentially what’s on the ballot. Republicans pushed for a very strict abortion law, and got it through a red legislature & governor. Now Amendment 4 proposes an aggressive pro-abortion remedy, and asks voters to choose between strict restrictions or a wildly pro-choice remedy that they would not otherwise support. But that’s the risk run by pushing strict laws out the gate. Incremental gains should have been the strategy, clearly.
  3. It sounds like it could get defeated. One of the Florida newspapers polled it and it is falling short of passing with more people voting against it as they learn more about it. But, as you said, every other pro-choice ballot measure has passed, even in the reddest of states, so… No, I’m completely fine leaving it up to the states. The pro-life movement needs to win hearts and minds, and right now they’ve been out-messaged and out-spent to a massive degree.
  4. The first real test to see if the pro-life movement can get its act together. Im pro-life, but have to admit that we weren’t, at all, prepared post-Roe and have been haphazardly trying to legislate while getting out-messaged and out-funded 10:1, even being soundly defeated in ruby red states. Amendment 4 in Florida is the first time I’ve seen a coherent push from the pro-life side. If they can’t win this one, the movement needs to regroup, because you can’t keep taking L after L with no course correction. Will be an interesting one to watch.
  5. Not saying it will be us trading for him, but with the Trent Williams news about wanting to get PAID.. I just don't see how the 49ers can also pay Aiyuk. They have so many high level players on that team to go with the upcoming Brock Purdy decision/contract.
  6. Rasul Douglas is in the last year of his deal Benford will be in a contract year next year Elam has one year left on his rookie deal and then the 5th year option Ingram is a guy they've been developing for a few years and will have to decide if he's worth an actual contract in the next few years They've done a great job, it seems, in building a strong CB room with good, young depth, but it's a premium position and by all accounts Hardy showed a ton of promise. We're going to need these rookie contract guys more than ever moving forward. So, to me, it just has to be they weren't as high on him as the reports state... or maybe they view returner as a legit starter position with the new rules. Regardless, keeping a JAG vet DE6 over a promising young CB5 is interesting.. to say the least. If it helps, Jets fans do think Codrington is a returner stud, but they also say he can't play a lick of defense. So.. (shrug)
  7. I'm not sure I totally understand this line of thinking. Given how teams can backload contracts, if the Bills truly wanted to make a move like this, they could. (at the deadline more likely due to lack of cap space) We have some bigger contracts (potentially) coming off the books next year & the year after in Milano, Von and Knox. Maybe you shift some money into future years and that means you can't re-sign Spencer Brown. So, for me, it's kind of a "just because you can, doesn't mean you should" need for restraint to not immediately put yourself up against the cap VS if we plan on making a move like this next year, why waste a year of prime JA.. just do it now and get creative with future cap, knowing you have some bigger contracts you can shed in the next 1-2 years.
  8. Anybody have a good reason as to why we used 1 of our 8 designed to return spots on Darrynton Evans? Did they not think he'd make it to the PS? Carrying 4 RB's or holding onto him in case someone gets hurt?
  9. Jets fans seem to think he's a stud returner but useless as a DB. Given we have Benford & Douglas backed up by Elam & Ingram, maybe our staff felt we could afford to roster a Return Specialist only. Still one of the more random roster moves I've seen us do in a while, when coupled with cutting Hardy, who everyone that follows the team had as a roster lock going into yesterday.
  10. Democracy ™️
  11. They know their voters don’t care and they know they can rely on the media to continue pushing for the indie/moderate vote. How little they think of those voting for them is a bit hilarious. Throw the pleebs a friendly interview that the Presidential candidate can’t even do by herself. Then they cross that talking point off the list. “…Don’t worry.. the chuds voting for us will take our slop and be happy.” -Harris, probably
  12. This is sickening
  13. I’m fine with our five when it comes to just adding another WR3 type.. but Samuel’s injury history makes me open to this. Although I tend to agree that the plan now may be to add a higher level WR at some point, should one make sense between now and the trade deadline. ….but we need to stay afloat until then. Tough decision, unless they actually have justified faith in this room.
  14. On paper, the DT room is a major upgrade over last year. Oliver hopefully continuing to ascend Healthy Daquan Jones Austin Johnson >>> Settle/Phillips Dewayne Carter high ceiling
  15. I don't really have an issue with 5 WR's. I do kind of have an issue with 5 WR's, when two of them are currently injured & 1 of those currently injured WR's has a messy injury history.
  16. Didn't really think Shavers was a 53 man player - especially given the presence of Coleman, Hollins and MVS, but it's a reminder of how tough this day is for so many.. thinking back to his interview where he said he viewed Sunday's game as his Super Bowl. Rough business.
  17. Zuck admitting the Biden/Harris Admin pressured him to censor Americans will get about 5 seconds, if that, on the evening news and the people who need to hear this will go on continuing to believe the govt is here to help & our news media tells them the truth.
  18. In preseason no less.. Gross
  19. Post-DNC EchelonInsights Poll shows Trump +1 Nationally. Trump +1 in the updated PolyMarket Betting Odds. Jake Tapper posting that his Dem sources have it basically tied in the Blue Wall, with admitting Kamala has lost ground with white men in PA and down by a couple points. On the flip, I do think she’s live in North Carolina. If NC is winnable for her, then - in theory - so should Georgia, but Trump consistently polls the best there out of all the swing states.
  20. Really strong optics for Trump showing up at Arlington cemetery while Biden & Harris are nowhere to be found today.
  21. Blue Anon has entered the chat
  22. People also won’t address legitimate concerns brought up by RFK about Big Ag & the FDA in relation to childhood sickness and increase in autism/cancers or Pharma & the drugging of this country. So when he’s dismissed as a crazy person over questions many people are now having, they’ll start to say well.. if they attack him over something so obvious as to be questioned, how do I know he’s not correct on his other claims?
