Kansas City Chiefs @ Las Vegas Raiders 1/7/23 4:30pm
SCBills replied to T&C's topic in The Stadium Wall
This take feels trolling or just super obnoxious insecure fan speak. Who tf thinks we’ve been handed anything? Chiefs fans? **** them. We literally had the 1 seed TAKEN from us. We did nothing to lose it. It’s just gone now .. and given to KC and the whiniest fanbase on the planet somehow making you think we’re being given some big leg up? -

Culmination of the following: KC benefits the most from our game being canceled. KC got HUGE calls their way against Denver last week. No call on the 50/50 PI in the end zone. To see the, far too common, flag icon pop up on an incomplete KC 3rd down pass was just comical … even if it was stupid by Crosby. -

Time to turn this one off. Stidham looking back like a 3rd stringer. 50/50 PI in end zone. KC benefit. 50/50 Roughing call. KC benefit. Im out. -

Josh Jacobs says he’s playing for his dad who just had pretty serious surgery. His dad told him to go play. He will be inspired. -

What Bengals & Chiefs fans are saying about the situation:
SCBills replied to BigDingus's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree for the most part, but the Chiefs are awarded home field and the bye after losing to both the Bills and Bengals. Im honestly surprised so many Chiefs fans are upset by a potential neutral field AFCCG. They are, by far, the thinnest skinned, most insecure fanbase on Twitter. See a tweet that puts anyone even close to on par with Mahomes and they throw a cyber temper tantrum. That being said .. I genuinely thought they’d be happy by the lot they’ve been given. They get the bye if they win today. Home field in the Divisional Round. Avoid having to play both BUF & CIN. …and the slight they’ve been given isn’t even a road game (of which Mahomes still won’t play one). At least the Pats fanbase had the GOAT and constantly made it to, and won Super Bowls. The Chiefs have won one with Mahomes and got blown out in the other .. and they never stop crying. -
NFL Resolution to Adjust the AFC Playoffs- Poll
SCBills replied to Rocky Landing's topic in The Stadium Wall
I voted yes, but it is so frustrating that KC is the team that benefits, by far, the most. If it was anyone else, I could stomach it. -
Updated scenario for scheduling to be voted on Friday
SCBills replied to The 9 Isles's topic in The Stadium Wall
“Accomodations” Chiefs get one seed = bye and avoiding both BUF & CIN. Buffalo gets a shot at a neutral AFCCG and avoiding falling to the 3 seed, albeit losing their ability to keep the one seed they had control of. No accommodations were made. Decisions were made. In order of who those decisions benefit/hurt: Chiefs Bills Ravens Bengals -

I think you’re imagining things.. One team benefits from this scenario about 20x more than everyone else … the Chiefs. Bills lose out on their ability to control their shot at the 1 seed. Bengals completely screwed due to whatever reasoning they have of flipping a coin to decide Bengals/Ravens home field if Balt wins. -

No. No we are not. Chiefs are gifted a bye if they win Saturday. -

No, I’m strictly speaking about the Bengals/Ravens scenario. Why a coin flip when the Ravens can’t overtake them on win percentage? Sure Ravens would have swept them. Bills beat Chiefs. Doesn’t mean we get a coin flip over the bye. -

The Bengals/Ravens scenario is utter garbage. KC gets the 1 seed if they win on Saturday based on win percentage. Why is it the Bengals who don’t get win percentage factored in? -

Perhaps .. Also should be noted that the NFL may have called it regardless.. analysts, players and fans were all over social media openly demanding the game be shut down. There wasn’t exactly much of a public appetite to play that game. -
If Chiefs win on Sat. does Bills/Pats game matter (much)?
SCBills replied to ProcessTruster's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’d think it’s pretty important. If KC wins, we have two home games and then a neutral field game against KC / home game vs anyone else. If KC loses, we are the 1 seed. Either way, it certainly serves a purpose. -
Playoff Solutions Assuming they don’t replay the Bengals game.
SCBills replied to Locomark's topic in The Stadium Wall
This seems the most fair of all the options. Sure, I'm guessing KC still gets the 1 seed if they go by winning percentages, but to give both home field AND the bye to a team that received it based on a traumatic event causing a game to be canceled is far too much of a gift in a league based on performance based results. -
I agree it’s likely the Bills & Bengals could not have much of an appetite for playing this game in a Week 19 while everyone else is off. Im fine with it too. I do think there is value in getting the two seed, and two home games. Especially given the fact it seems likely the Divisional Round will be either Bengals at Bills or Bills at Bengals. If it was ANYONE other than the Chiefs, and “never played a road playoff game Mahomes”, the team benefitting off this tragedy would be much easier to swallow.

Of course there can be … but you can’t let it consume you.

Speaking of that .. if they don't play Sunday, .. and this is just my personal view .. I’d really start to get worried about their mental health as a collective and how they’re choosing to respond to this tragedy.

Bulldog took issue with someone saying this as we shouldn’t assume what someone would want… but anyone who’s ever played team sports at a competitive level knows EXACTLY how they’d want their teammates to respond..
