Makes sense. Still have two depth Safeties and for all the hand wringing over Elam, I’d rather have all options available at CB depending on how we need to attack their offense … and all 3 corners opposite Tre are very different styles of DB.

Joe Burrow huge extension 5 years $275 million now highest paid QB
SCBills replied to DJB's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’m sure Joe Burrow will bounce back, but I’m really not here for the “he might not have been 100%” talk after we’ve had to deal with an off-season of hot takes due to a season from hell in which Allen playing half of it with a UCL injury in his throwing elbow is barely ever mentioned. -
Definitely seeing a lot of “yea, but…” in regards to the Dolphins yesterday. One can clown the Chargers for seeming to be the same team year after year, but the Dolphins looked legit. Tua was really good, and he was good doing what we know he’s good at.. Keep him upright and let him throw in rhythm… we all know he’s good at that. Why is it surprising? He had guys running wide open all game, but guess what … he hit them… he doesn’t miss if given those opportunities. And for that reason, the Dolphins are tough, because if you can’t hit him and disrupt his timing, their scheme, speed and talent at WR is going to result in open receivers quite a bit. Chargers couldn’t get pressure and their back seven did not look good, at all… but we can’t act like the Dolphins had nothing to do with that. Tua may be more system QB than the guys Dolphins fans want to think he’s comparable to, but he’s deadly in the right system if you can’t disrupt timing and when they needed him to be clutch, he threw two ELITE passes late in the 4th to extend a drive and then take the lead.

Week 1 isn’t always indicative of what we’ll see this season, but I went into the season thinking the AFCN was the best division in the NFL. AFCE showed out, and the Pats, whewww thought they might actually pull that out against the Eagles. Browns looked tough, but Watson was still meh. No idea what the Bengals were on. Ravens won a game they should but suffered two huge injuries. Steelers showed why preseason doesn’t really matter when making predictions. AFCW looks like a joke, again. Raiders/Broncos, whatever. Chargers, one game in, look to be the pretenders they always are. Jaguars didn’t look great against a bad Colts team, but the Tannehill Titans don’t exactly look up to the challenge and the Colts/Texans should be 4 auto-wins. Cowboys & Niners looked bonkers good.

That’s, in part, due to the fact that the Chargers are philosophically opposed to acquiring receivers that can get separation.

Joe Burrow huge extension 5 years $275 million now highest paid QB

Fwiw.. I don’t think this is a fair assessment to make until we see McDermott’s Defense go up against them. If it’s more of the same, so be it. Burrow is less mobile, less arm talent, more accuracy, timing and cerebral processing - paired with elite receiving weapons. That’s why he struggles against a physical pressure defense like the Browns, but carves up a predictable Tampa 2. -
I watched a good bit of the game. Tua looked good, had time, was able to throw in rhythm and guys were running wide open with Tyreek Hill doing Tyreek Hill things.

Elon Musk, War puppeteer
SCBills replied to Joe Ferguson forever's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Elon provides Starlink for a war torn country so the people trapped within it can communicate. Ukrainian military asks Elon to extend its use for a military operation. Elon says he doesn’t wish to be involved in the war. “Elon Musk, War Puppeteer” -

Elon Musk, War puppeteer
SCBills replied to Joe Ferguson forever's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
He took away their ability to completely control the narrative. His takeover of Twitter has been massive in disrupting the propaganda wing of the left/MIC. That won’t go unpunished. -
Why do you say this though? You give no reasoning. Im not saying he will or won’t, but he’s the only guy in recent memory who moves the way Kelce does. He has (on his college tape) fluidity and spatial awareness that can’t be taught. Will that translate when we go live?… We shall see.

Me personally, I think Veach crushed the drafts prior to these past two years. Those picks, along with their FA spending on the OL is what has been driving their success with Mahomes/Kelce/Jones. That said … Moore seems meh, we’ll see about Rice (although he also struggles with drops). On defense, we’ll see about their EDGE pick from this year, but Karlaftis reminds me alot of Epenesa.
-
McKenzie vs the Chiefs last year got pretty close to Toney last night.
-
So are we criticizing the Chiefs recent drafts, McDuffie aside? Prior to this year, we’d be celebrating in the streets if Beane gave Allen the OL Mahomes has been given along with a 4.3 deep threat and back to back RD2 WR’s.
-
Thank you .. Unless Allen is willing to play on a massive discount, all these contracts do is drive up the next one for him in a few years. The only caveat I’d make for the Bengals specifically, is that their owner seems to have cash flow issues and it will be interesting to see how they operate now that they have a massive QB contract hitting the books soon.
-
I think the Chiefs will be fine when they get Kelce back next week, however.. Last night showed that personnel around the QB matters. Mahomes is regarded as the top QB currently, and justifiably so. That being said, when only provided with the following (against a meh defense) -Elite IOL -Big $$$ Tackle -Solid RB’s -Solid TE -Back to back RD2 WR’s -WR3 Speed Threat -Recent RD1 WR via trade Mahomes looked uncomfortable, a bit off and was let down by his supporting cast. We can make excuses and analyze it all we want, but he also started pressing and struggled a bit himself as the game wore on.

Officials allowed the Chiefs to cheat the entire game

People losing their minds over the Chiefs OL being allowed to cheat all game is the most unified I’ve ever seen Twitter.- 107 replies

Kelce makes everything else work. None of their WR’s are focal points, but they don’t have to be … just need to be planets that orbit around Kelce and it should be fine.
-
Chiefs were sending HEAT. Once Goff got behind the sticks they were blitzing him because he’s a statue and currently has one WR.
-
Kelce seems needed to see if their two RD2 WR’s can pop. Chris Jones seems needed to see if their recent high EDGE draft picks can pop.
-
That’s the point… Yea, Chiefs really screwed him over by giving him an elite IOL, spending big $$$ on Taylor and drafting back to back RD2 WR’s.
-
Detroit offense going to do anything tonight or….
-
Get Goff behind the sticks and it’s series over.

Piss poor performance in that first half from the Lions Offense.
