Trump town hall on cnn
SCBills replied to Over 29 years of fanhood's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Holy ****, this thread …. I can accept the cynical notion that Dems are elevating Trump because they know he’s more beatable than DeSantis.. in fact, I believe that to be the case. (Which is why the whole “he’s a threat to Democracy” bs is hilarious) You don’t purposefully elevate someone you truly believe that about. That being said, the reactions today are so over the top that I think y’all are actually scared. I know he’s triggering but my goodness… take a Xan and get some rest. -
Bills at jets monday opener ESPN/ABC on week 1
SCBills replied to djp14150's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agree. It can be flukey. Our opener last year was pretty on the nose though. If we didn't get ravaged by injury, I think that team we were on opening night, was pretty close to who we could have been all year.. and we saw the Rams were frauds after their Super Bowl run. -
Yea, that was my first thought when they announced Chiefs/Lions... oh, cool... they get the Lions without Jameson Williams. How nice. I like getting the Jets week one. Rodgers is an old pocket QB. He's still got it, but I think McD should have a general idea of what their offense will look like. And like Rodgers wanting to make a statement, so will McDermott as HC/DC. Having games like this early makes me really want to snag one of these FA EDGE guys though. Jets may not have Breece up by Week One though either.

I like it. Bills should have a good idea of what the Jets defense looks like given they haven't changed much (aside from adding a couple pieces). First Rodgers game with his new team. No one will have any idea what to really expect from a McDermott led defense. And just like Rodgers is going to want to make a statement.... you know McD, first game as HC/DC, will be looking to make a statement also. -
Days have gone by since the Araiza news broke. Silence from so many prominent Bills influencers and media. Sad to see. Was hoping some of the more visible Bills accounts would step up and help clear the name of a man they helped destroy, but I guess that’s too much to ask. Groups like Bills Mafia Babes, who do some really good things, have forever tarnished their name. They don’t even have the decency to comment on this after taking a victory lap after this man lost his job. Kudos to those like Patrick Moran, Rico etc., who have stepped up and commented.

Don’t really see much excitement for this on Twitter. Personally, I’d rather the Chiefs play the Lions when they have Jameson Williams, but who knows what any teams look like as the season plays on.

NFL Top 100 Ballots (Allen ranked VERY high)

Interesting to see how it turns out, but players know when a guy is lifted by the talent around him. -

He did pretty well actually. He was definitely funny and entertaining. An obnoxiously adversarial host, along with a pro-Trump crowd, put that very much on display. Had some really strong answers on Ukraine, immigration and the economy. I have no idea how no prominent Republicans can verbalize that overturning Roe returns it to the states and that there should be no federal ban. It’s always rambling nonsense. This, coming from a pro-lifer in myself… figure it out GOP. Overall, he reminded those that like him, why they do, probably won over some DeSantis voters for the time being, and likely appealed to Indies on every answer he gave, except abortion. The E. Jean Carroll answer was mayhem. Absolute mayhem. “Had a cat named *****” ”Let me pull it it .. alright I’m gonna pull it out” The dude is just funny. Not my first choice, but damn.. he had me rolling a few times. -
That day we played Miami, I think Tampa also played at home, 4 pm. Players were having some issues, but nothing remotely close to what our guys were dealing with. Im almost surprised that 1 pm games in Miami/early season are a thing. 4 pm is still tough, but at least the suns impact on the field drops as you get deeper into the second half.

If the Bills schedule is more front loaded (KC, CIN etc), I wonder if that changes any potential calculus the FO may have on signing an EDGE?

Jags @ Bills in London: Week 5 - 10/8 @ 9:30am ET

Cool. So will all of us. The discussion we're having isn't about us. We aren't playing the games. -

Ok.. Why even care at all about the schedule, or who/when we play anyone? Give us a 1 pm season opener in Miami on Week One. Give us the earliest bye week possible. Schedule KC, CIN, PHI, LAC, NYJ & MIA all in a row. What does it matter? -

I mean, it is a disadvantage. We can talk about that. Does it mean we have an excuse, due to that, to go out and lose to a good (not great) team in Jax? No.. We should still win that game. That said, I just don't like being part of the experiment with Jax. First team playing two games overseas, staying overseas the entire time. How does that drive their mentality? The league will clearly be looking to see how good, bad or indifferent they play on the second game of two in a row over there. Ehh.. just not a fan of the scheduling hand we were dealt here. Still should be a W, but we know of exactly one game, and it's about as meh as it could possibly be for us. -

Disagree completely with this. Bills have to travel and deal with the time change, for a "home game". Instead of playing a team also dealing with that.. for the first time... that's now not the case. -
South Carolina. Spend half my week in SC, half in Atlanta. I don’t care “so” much. I’m just being a prick about it. Do I like it .. nah, but I also think the Saturday games we keep playing late in the season are gross as well. Sunday afternoon/night & MNF is just my preference.

Why? Because he was falsely accused? In your determination, is that what happened to Deshaun Watson?

Bills social media team selling me on an overseas game
-
Oh, for sure. I get it from the NFL’s and for overseas fans. I’m more speaking to all our social media teams and team reporters trying to hype it up. Most fans, stateside, just see it as a throw away. For me, the only week less exciting on the schedule is our bye week. And I especially don’t love playing a team who has already been over there for a week.
-
No idea why anyone finds these international games exciting. I guess if you base travel around Bills games, it’s something. Jags/Bills, at 9:30 am ET, on the second half of a back to back for Jax, is the most uninspiring part of our schedule (imo). Just all around meh.

Schedule release day 5/11/23 - 8:00 PM EST on ESPN2
SCBills replied to Bills!Win!'s topic in The Stadium Wall
Give it a few years … schedule release will be done by Greg Gumbel in the style/drama of the NCAAT Selection Show. Honestly not sure why they haven’t gotten there yet. -
Personally, I find it fascinating to watch Josh Allen’s style transition from one Kelce brother, to the other.

I mean.. fwiw, if you’re someone “insecure about sexual performance” that girl who’s been with 4 guys, is probably comparing you to each one. That girl who’s been with 100 dudes, unless you’re straight trash in bed, isn’t comparing you to anyone. The reason they aren’t comparing you, is because they all blend in .. which is my point .. that you run the risk of not being able to connect on a deeper level. Sex doesn’t become a bond. It becomes a hobby.. or when in a relationship, an activity. Sex may not be a bonding experience for that person, like it may be for others. I don’t think this is earth shattering psychology here.

Pinto Ron gon’ need to get real creative now that we’re having to ritually cleanse ourselves of a curse.

Id agree with a lot of what you say here. I think the body count issue becomes more prominent, say, ages 25+… Most will sleep around when they’re young, and then many of them settle down. Some stay married, some get divorced. It is what it is. However, as society shifts, for many reasons, to people not marrying/marrying later in life… (I think) it becomes harder and harder to truly connect with someone as you accumulate sexual partners. Not just in your college years.. now you’re 25, now you’re 30.. now you’re 35… somewhere along the way, they just become bodies. Sex starts to have no meaning. And that’s where, I believe, body count does come into play. Im not saying I wouldn’t be with someone because of a high body count … I just acknowledge what it does to you.
