  1. Not ideal but I think that side of the ball is determined by our DL vs their OL/Run Game and if our LB’s can make plays in the middle of the field.
  2. Agreed. I think this game will be very telling about our Safety situation this season. Can our cerebral/fundamental play back there match up well enough against the speed and looks Miami can throw at us? As far as our corner play.. Without Elam getting any run, we don’t have burners, but if you look at the coverage metrics through 3 games.. Tre is holding his own and Benford/Johnson are elite. We also have a top 5 DL and likely the fastest linebacker duo in the league. As obnoxious as the ESPN analysts can be.. Bart and RC do make a good point about their run game vs our Nickel looks with Bernard/Milano as undersized linebackers. Going to be real interesting to see if we can slow down their rushing attack and force them to throw the ball.. as counterproductive as that sounds with their weapons.
  3. Beat the Dolphins and I could care less if Kincaid has any catches .. that being said, it’s probably not sustainable to have no reliable #2 receiving option behind Diggs. Which is likely where most of the Kincaid angst stems from.
  4. I responded to a question about why there may be apathy for this game. I didn’t question the talent on Detroit. I pointed out that they don’t have a QB anyone wants to watch, and nobody - aside from hardcore NFL fans - is all “I can’t wait to see what Hutch and St Brown do out there tonight!!”
  5. What casual fan cares about St Brown or Hutchinson?
  6. NFC game Blah QB’s Neither team has any marketable players
  7. I like AJE and think he still has more potential. TBH, I hope we let Gabe walk, and focus on (if it's possible) extending Floyd, Jones and Epenesa. Bring back Lawson and Phillips on cheap deals and draft a space eating DT. Through three games, it looks like Beane finally got the DL right and we're seeing how incredibly important that is. AJE is showing to be a splash player off the edge that brings consistent pressure for a rotational guy. His length and athleticism, along with Floyd and Rousseau "could" be a game changer against Tua and that quick rhythm passing attack.
  8. I don't need Gabe to be a WR1a, but I need to see that he can win - consistently - on various types of routes. I haven't seen that. He flirts with getting me to buy-in from time to time, but there's never consistency. So far.. he's a luxury high end WR3 with WR1 deep ball skills and elite blocking. That's too easy to gameplan for as the compliment to Diggs.
  9. I was somewhat surprised to see it, but Benford and Johnson's coverage metrics are off the charts, while Tre has been solid.
  10. We have a pass heavy offense and need more than Gabe has been giving us. I'm getting to the let him walk camp. He's too inconsistent and if he does start to put it together, will be too expensive. Focus on bringing back Floyd and Daquan. Draft a WR early next year.
  11. I've noticed that no-nonsense type of response twice now.. Allen didn't even blink when asked about it. Bernard did the same when asked about it on GMFB yesterday.
  12. Heading into Week 4, when looking at our schedule.. -Miami looks much better than I thought they would be. -The rest of our schedule looks much more manageable than I thought it would be. Teams like JAX, NYG, NYJ, DEN, PHI, DAL and LAC don't look as tough as I thought any of them would be before the season. I do think CIN will put it together by the time we play them, although I am wavering on that a bit.
  13. I think we have two weak spots on the offense.. RT and WR2 -RT we can scheme to help. There's also the "hope" he continues to improve. -WR2 we can't necessarily scheme up help .. he has to win his routes.. and unless Gabe steps up, he is holding us back.
  14. All I've taken from 3 games are as follows: Miami has a great offense. They haven't played a great defense. Buffalo has a great defense. They haven't played a great offense. New England is a good defense, and they held Miami to 24 points. I think that's something to take note of, but our Offense better be on point and ready to score 30+.
  15. I'd like to see Elam active if for no other reason than we've seen him play well against their receivers.. and maybe Benford locks it down, but if we get in-game and see he's struggling with Hill/Waddle's speed, I'd like to have the option of giving Elam a shot.
  16. I'm starting to really buy in on McDermott's vision for this Defense. Spend/Invest heavily on the DL to keep the LB's clean. Draft speed/athleticism linebackers that fall in the draft due to being undersized and just let them loose behind that DL. Milano & Bernard look like structured chaos out there with their speed, instincts, coverage ability and violent short area burst.. and we have another one being developed behind them in Dorian Williams.
  17. Ed Oliver and Terrel Bernard are seriously impressive and while sustained play is required for the full serving of crow to be consumed... let's just say it's getting pretty close to dinner being served. Oliver is looking like his high end DT counterparts, but at a fraction of the contract.
  18. I don't know if DJ Moore is the answer, but I wouldn't be opposed to a WR trade at some point. Gabe Davis keeps flirting with getting to a point where I trust him as a WR2 and then drops a pass or runs a lazy route. I just don't know if he'll ever get there. It also seems like our list of draft needs may be not so dire... Even if Morse is a cap casualty after the season, we have Ryan Bates who can step in at Center. The other 4 positions, even Spencer Brown at RT, look good.. and we have developmental depth that the staff is high on both on the IOL and at swing tackle. At the skill positions, we could potentially lose Davis, Sherfield, Harris and Murray, so WR and RB look to be draft needs.. and I think the time to take a developmental QB may be there. On Defense, LB looks set with Milano, Bernard and Williams. CB can be set if we are content with White, Benford, Elam, Johnson and Neal. DL and Safety will likely need investment.. and could be where the bulk of our picks go, outside of WR, RB and QB. If we can make a move for a WR2 should Gabe not make a jump by the deadline, I wouldn't be opposed. We have a lot of draft capital, and potential needs like MLB and RT don't look to be needs any longer (although I would still keep investing on the OL).
  19. I’m a sucker for good synthwave and watched Terrifier 2 last night. This song, during the opening credits.. 🤌🏼 chefs kiss…
  20. NFL Live is decent, but that's mainly because Dan Orlovsky and Mina Kimes know what they're talking about and the cast has good chemistry. I think that's the only show on ESPN that I can stomach. Everything else is hot takes and nonsense. GMFB is on every day at my office and is decent for what it is, but I wouldn't necessarily call it a debate show.
  21. I have to agree with those that think he may have signed here hoping to start, but sees the writing on the wall with Bernard locking down that spot. Still not great, because while Bernard looks the real deal early on, we don't have much behind him until/unless Dorian Williams can get up to speed at MLB.
  22. Burrow is elite, but part of the fear for Bills fans is due to how our Defense matched up with him last year. -Meh pass rush -Lack of disguise/creativity -Corners playing bend/don't break coverage much of the game -Compromised Safety play due to injuries That's about as bad of a recipe in defending Joe Burrow as it gets. He has elite WR's and is a cerebral QB that is more than willing to underneath/intermediate throws all game. Why is it he's been mediocre in almost every other playoff game aside from his matchup against us? Why is it he struggles against every defense in the AFCN? IMO.. Allen and Mahomes are on another level, with Mahomes separating himself due to Super Bowl victories and week in/week out consistency. Burrow is a less talented version of those two, but with better weapons. And I'm honestly sick of pretending otherwise.
  23. I've wondered this as well. Especially if we're looking at wholesale changes on the Defense. Can probably move off Morse if we want and have Bates move into the Center role. If we extend Davis, all we're really looking to fill on Offense (fingers crossed on Brown at RT) are some depth roles. Would allow the team to focus on DL and S in the draft to restock DT, EDGE and Safety with some young talent. That being said.. I could go either way on Davis, because 15M or so on Davis (if that's feasible) might be better spent on extending Jones and Floyd, while using an early pick at WR. And even then, to get under the cap with spending like that could require a surprise cut to Tre White if he doesn't bounce back to reliable high end CB1.
  24. Yea.. I could care less about the average age metric. We could easily become much younger next year if we are replacing Hyde, Poyer and spending draft picks on the DL again.
