Max Hairston to return to practice from IR
SCBills replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
If we somehow come out of the bye with Hancock and Hairston out there playing meaningful snaps, ill be pleasantly surprised .. and the vibes around the team make that sound like a legit possibility. -
I’m fine with Bishop. He has legit talent. It’s up to the staff to figure out how to unlock it consistently.. and up to Bishop to keep himself healthy. I have hope that a legend, even at his age, that would probably give his life on the field for the Bills, can be more of a steadying presence to help Bishop along than whatever Rapp was doing out there looking like the Monstars drained all his ability to play football overnight.

Every fan sees why we can’t stop the run without throwing numbers at it. We draft undersized, penetrating DT’s. Thats the trade off. We draft undersized, sideline to sideline linebackers. That’s the trade off. Our run defense is bad by design. Always has been. Everyone saw this coming a mile away. Now it’s further exposed due to injuries and not having prime Hyde/Poyer to mask defensive deficiencies on the back end. And why do we have so many injuries every year on Defense? Well, undersized players typically don’t hold up as well over the course of the season when getting pummeled by bigger, stronger players. None of this is surprising. Just like the WR issues ever since Diggs/Brown/Beasley. It’s cognizant team building failures and it’s by design. Somehow the only people who don’t see this reside at One Bills Drive. Team is built to rush the passer and hunt off a lead. But we can’t do that when games are close because the opponent has 9-10-11 play drives consuming 6-7-8 minutes, shortening the game for an Offense that has zero quick strike ability due to its constant lack of WR talent. So now we’re a run heavy team, milking the clock… playing other teams who want to run at us and milk the clock. Our defensive philosophy makes zero sense given this reality.

Plausible X/#1 receiver trade candidates — are there any?
SCBills replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is easily the most vocally frustrated the fanbase has even been in the regular season during the Allen era. It’s been loud. I can’t imagine this hasn’t been noticed by the FO. Even Keon was cryptic tweeting & deleting last week. -

It’s somewhat hilarious that everyone saw this coming except for the Bills FO -

If he owns it and makes a move, especially if it’s a long term move at WR.. I can let go of the fact he did that. Get Olave and all is forgiven. -
Graham Platner - Maine Senate Candidate
SCBills replied to SCBills's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
He looks like he’ll get through this with polling showing him far ahead of Mills in the D Primary. I get the allure. The only chance Dems have of winning back any segment of men is by running these types of candidates who are very rough around the edges and appeal to the same populist viewpoint that has turned conservatism into MAGA. That is the real reason Bernie, Pod Save America, Krystal Ball etc support him. They need him to be able to win in order to usher in leadership that appeals to men. If Platner is run out of the Maine race or Mills defeats him, it symbolically reaffirms the idea that the Democrat Party is that of MSNBC boomers, single women and black folks. That coalition is dependent upon winning independents and latinos at a 60% clip, which hasn’t been trending that way lately. It’s not really about Platner. It’s about what he represents for the future of the party. Especially with growing inroads from Islamist leaders pushing socialism within the party. It’s a lot easy to soft launch socialism when it comes from a “working class” white dude. -
Thou Shalt Not Criticize Israel
SCBills replied to Roundybout's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Maybe the most direct shot at Israel a President has ever vocally stated. -
I’m enjoying all the “we’re getting guys back” commentary from the podcasters when we come out of the bye with Daquan Jones and Josh Palmer not ruled out for IR and Kincaid still Questionable. I mean, technically they are right, but I wouldn’t exactly say we’re in great shape these next few weeks with Hairston likely not seeing the field for a minute and our starting DT and only legitimate outside separator down.

If the Saints won’t move Olave, there’s obviously not much we can do about that, but I’d offer a 1 + Samuel and see if that gets the conversation going. They have the cap to absorb his contract and that’s not a short term move.. it’s essentially the Diggs trade of a few years ago but in-season. We lose a RD1 pick, and if they take back Samuel, I’d be willing to offer more if necessary, but we lock down 4 WR’s long term, to go with all 3 RB’s on multi-year deals, JA, 3 TE’s and 3/5ths of our starting OL plus development/depth guys like Anderson, Grable and SVPG. Still in a position to grab OL on Day 2 and that Offense is stacked for multiple years. -
How much did you pay for gas and groceries today?
SCBills replied to Big Blitz's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Gas is down, which should - theoretically - begin to lower costs in general. That said, certain groceries are not coming down.. and some are getting more expensive. With Trump still steadfast on tariffs, he opens himself up (and R’s in general) on this front should it not get remedied by the midterms. -
Just vote Yes on the CR with the promises R’s are giving to discuss healthcare subsidies before they expire. They won’t let them expire. Politically, they can’t. It’s why once handouts are given, the taxpayer is always on the hook. Dems promise “Affordable Care” that is entirely unaffordable unless overly subsidized by the American taxpayer. Then R’s can never claw it back, because Americans get used to the subsidy or handout and it’s politically impossible to address, therefore we continue subsidizing the programs under the guise of government spending, which is really just higher taxes and more national debt. Whichever side starts getting hurt more by public perception will fold. Right now it’s a stand still with R’s catching some heat due to controlling the government but the Trump Admin relatively unscathed. It’s a narrative battle, so that comment shared above surely drew her some angry phone calls from Dem Leadership. Also, Dems need to pick better examples…

Dems cannot be happy about that clip..

Honest Question .. what do we do about the ACA? Its an absolute disaster that is completely propped up by taxpayer dollars. I’m not saying we shouldn’t continue doing that.. I’ve actually always been a proponent of not charging people for pre-existing conditions. But it’s not sustainable. We knew it wouldn’t be sustainable. And it’s even less sustainable than anyone could have imagined.

Graham Platner - Maine Senate Candidate
SCBills replied to SCBills's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Libs for the past decade: “everything is Nazi” Libs when a progressive Senate candidate has a literal Nazi tattoo: “ok, but who amongst us hasn’t made mistakes” -
There’s ways around this if the Bills are actually serious about needing $$ in season. Attaching a pick with Samuel to get him off this team is an option. Knox is a solid TE who would likely have a trade market. There are ways around this, but the Bills need to be willing to get creative and/or be willing to part with a player who is an OG of this roster.
