  1. Let’s face it ...name any guy who led the CFL in receiving yards and suddenly became relevant in the NFL... not many on that list. They just couldn’t justify keeping a jump ball player on a roster for 2 plays a game.
  2. My personal opinion is it takes away from the game. It fun to use for bragging rights with friends but when friends become obsessive about it and fight over trades, etc. then it gets out of hand and is a waste of time. There is a difference between a casual player and people in 10 leagues. I was saying it has become obsessive for too many people. I have more to do with my time than guess at player stats...
  3. FYI- The blackouts are regional. CBS In Chicago on DTV was down a month ago, but not now...so who knows who will be down as the season rolls along.
  4. BEST STORY EVER...HOW ABOUT KELVIN BENJAMIN JOINS PATS NEXT!!!
  5. That kid separates less than Kelvin Benjamin, if that is possible.
  6. Fantasy football can be simple fun with friends or obsessive compulsive behavior for people who need to get a life. I have seen it both ways.
  7. I have lived in 4 different states and never ever ever thought about switching teams. Go find a Bills backer bar and hang out. Many people are die hard fans and never get to the stadium, it doesn't mean you switch teams!
  8. 9-7. They could go 10-6 but only if they start the season 5-1 which is possible. The opener is a huge game. Their defense needs to start getting turnovers in these road games again!
  9. If you want to go to cheap events, there is always baseball... football is no longer that sport.. Its cheaper for me to fly to Buffalo from Chicago and buy tickets then it is to just buy tickets in Chicago to see the Bills in Chicago when they play there. In fact I'm doing that for the Home Opener and sitting in much better seats than I would ever dream of in Chicago!
  10. They don't even want that in Green Bay! ....Seriously, both Buffalo sports facilities are pretty crappy relative to their peers. But we also don't need some 2 Billion dollar monstrosity that will require $10,000 seat licenses for a season ticket holder. Just getting a modern stadium would be a win.
  11. Somebody was Wang Chunging too much in the offseason.... finally a setback for the Pats....
  12. Its not pounds, its general height and speed and pounds. Flutie could outrun some 240 lb bruiser LB from 25 years ago. Those guys can get on the field anymore!!! Today's LBs could outrun his 40 time and beat him in agility. That's what I mean. That was where he excelled and got loose. Add the new size guys like Van Der Esch and Edmunds and these super quick DEs that are in the Bruce Smith mold and he wouldn't last long.
  13. Just curious but what are you a big fan of? I really don't see a high motor on the kid and he plays end in a pass rush league yet has done very little to show pass rush skills. I am certainly rooting for him as a fan but I just haven't seen much to make me an optimist. He certainly isn't twitchy like Jerry to make me think he will suddenly find his pass rush skills. Honestly not ripping you, just wondering what I am missing that some others may be seeing.
  14. So the moment Mitch is cleared can we just get rid of Bodine and call it a failed experiment. He is just downright bad... Maybe that is why he has already left his best season behind him and doesn't continually improve. It starts with practice focus. Surprised Rivera puts up with that. Sorry but this was intended for another thread and keep defaulting here!!!
  15. Oliver: Easy to talk trash with that sissy red jersey on....if you see me on Friday it's gonna hurt for real!!!
  16. also....what if PFF is right and Ty's grade really does make him a Top 10 type RT? Doesn't he give us a chance to get our best 5 on the field and for what cost, 1 year of a great pass rush on great defense at the expense of a mediocre offense.
  17. I would cut Bodine now! Surprises --- I am on the DiMarco and Yarbrough are gone thought.
  18. I don't view any of those as a surprise personally.
  19. Run = B- , Pass = D In My book His only improvement in the pass game is batted balls because he doesn't get there!
  20. There is no way Flutie survives the size of today. Edmunds is the new MLB not the SLOW guys he would run by. Ed Oliver could catch him for christ's sake! The Flutie worship is so over the top!!!
  21. I would do that if he has 2-3 years left on a deal BUT I am not sold on a guy that we have to hand $20 plus million/yr to for a guy who has never hit double digit sacks. He would be awesome paired with Jerry for a few years though. I would much rather we spend $20 million on an elite offensive talent because we need that more and this game is won on offense!
  22. 2nd year is only 1.5 guaranteed against cap and 3rd year is a total walk with no cap hit...so Beane's version of a 3 year deal always has escape clauses....... You can't get a water boy for that in today's NFL.
  23. On third downs I watched Oliver exclusively and he was tossing Nelson around, so from a pure pass rush standpoint he looked really good.
  24. Great point. I haven't lived in Buffalo since the 90s. All I heard then was Kelly throws too many picks, Kelly doesn't get along with Thurman, Kelly is overrated, they party too much, etc So times never change..... people are often only happy when there is success that they haven't tasted for awhile. Hopefully that is soon for us Bills fans.
  25. 36-37 home (I can’t quite remember 1 ) and 7 road games. Haven’t lived in the area in 25 years so that limits my attendance.
