Buffalo has had the more consistent defenses. In a vacuum Kc has been able to out perform Buffalo in the playoffs by being more multiple and more aggressive. The Leslie Frazier Sean Mcdermott Defense is similar to the pre Mahomes Andy Reid offense. Great out the gates and fizzles down the stretch in playoffs. Great in a week by week league but in a win or go home scenario they become predictable in their conservative nature. Is this a Leslie Frazier play calling tendency or a Mcdermott tendency. We are going to find out.

To be a reliable underneath receiver for the Bills you need to be securely in Allens trust tree. After Beasley there was not much last year. Mckenzie was not. Crowder didnt stay healthy enough. I think Cook is getting close. Out of the Kincaid, Harty, Sherfield, Hines and Shakir the guy who gains his trust will be the guy thats most productive.

Hopkins was very productive last year when he returned with Colt Mccoy. OBJ has been not been prolific or consistently good in years. Coming off multiple knee injuries. Beane pulling out on OBJ does not mean he will do the same with Hopkins. Hopkins has been talking alot about Buffalo. Buffalo was reported to be one of the main suitors in terms of trade. Greg at cover 1 has broken down multiple was Buffalo can make a OBJ like deal fit. If Hopkins is willing to do a real multi year deal its makes it easier. Without negotiating they can restructure both Dawkins and White creating 12 mil in cap space. The report about Buffalo evaluating the recovery of Whites knee makes this a real possibility.

Great put him and Miller in Bubble wrap in storage. Open them up on Christmas in time for the playoffs. This isnt a move for September. This is a playoff move. Create more problems for defenses. Having guys who can win one on one does that. Not having to take the cheese on 3rd and long but having a guy who can win in 10-15 yards does that.

Majority 11 Cook With Diggs Davis Hopkins and Knox. Sup packages will allow be used to keep Diggs and Hopkins fresh. Second would be 12 with Cook Diggs/Hopkins Davis Kincaid Knox. They have plenty of passes to go around.

When he was put in position to play press he did very well. He was inexperienced in zone so that is where his struggles came. I come away thinking Elam was drafted with the Wallace Kelce play from the playoffs stuck in the organizations head. Vs Cincy they played similar coverage. I think Mcdermott goes more Jim Johnson than Frazier in 23. White Elam and Johnson asked to do more.

I like his skill set. From day 1 he plays all special teams. More importantly the 10 or so offensive snaps that Kumerow or Jon Brown provided he can do both roles. He is a big body to block and spell Davis like Kumerow. He also possess the ability to get deep and could make a handful of big plays. He is a 5th rder for a reason. He is a project but has ability to play immediately with a specific role. Anything more than that is how he takes advantage of his opportunities.

Dorsey didnt have a Jacksonville or Indianapolis games from 21 that Daboll had. Daboll had some massive stinkers. The offense started scorched earth. Allens injury negatively effected the offense efficiency. The offense isnt bad. I think the moves made this offseason were to make the offense more efficient. I think the offense would have to regress a pretty good amount to warrant an offensive Co change.

His emergence would make the defense more dynamic. Having 2 guys who can press allows for Mcdermott to get creative in the front 7. I think the defense in recent years was conservative in nature do to Fraziers style. Elam is a departure from the zone corners they put across white.

Mcdermott is arguably the best coach in Bills history. I like him and has alot of great qualities. If Buffalo comes up short again who takes the responsibility. Allen isn't going anywhere. There is pressure on the coaching staff. I dont think its hyperbolic to point out other coaches with long leashes have had deeper playoff runs to justify it. It would take a move for some of the caliber of McVay for it to make sense.

The pre season will provide the answer. Can the guy read, react and make a play. They are on screen the whole time. Who stands out? Whole game which guy pops. That guy moves up or wins. Dodson and Kline are the Mendosa line. Hopefully, Bernard, Spector or Williams can clear it.

Reid made it to a Superbowl after 3 straight NFC Championship games. Carrol and Tomlin won a Superbowl. Mcdermott could very well become Tony Dungy.

I was open to Sean Peyton this past offseason. I feel like Mcdermott calling the plays on defense is not an accident for 2023. I think with a healthy Hyde, Poyer, White, and Miller the defense will be better. I think Kincaid helps fill the role left without Beasley. If Buffalo does not make a Superbowl this year Mcdermott is on a hot seat sort of. By sort of is there a perceived upgrade available for a non football guy? An offensive mind and a Lombardi on there resume. The Rams will miss the playoffs and are a total rebuild. If Buffalo has a similar exit in the playoffs like the last 2 years I offer 2 1s and 3 for Mcvay. A Superbowl appearance its a 2 and a win its 1. F the window win a chip. Down the line you can make trades older guys for more picks.

If he was healthy for the combine or pro day he is long gone before 25. The route running is of a much smaller man.
