  1. The reports are saying its essentially the same cap hit I'm not. It was already not massive so there was only marginal room anyway
  2. No it isn't. It's money. It's why a rookie QB contract is the best time to win a SuperBowl. Virtually every SuperBowl winner with a 2nd contract QB has some obvious roster flaw, there isn't enough cap money not to. Its why paying for competent but not elite QBs puts teams into mediocrity cycles. The Milano issue is also made easier by this year's draft. There are plenty of options, its one of the better positions this year. Every position ranking article I've seen has it in the top half this year
  3. With what money? He took a prove it deal and will now get a massive contract. Someone will easily outbid the Bills for him. He is a decent starting tackle, someone will offer crazy money.
  4. It's the reality of having a franchise QB to pay. You have to make compromises and take risks. Its why on paper contending teams often have weaker looking teams than bad teams. Milano is a loss, but that's the reality now. You can't be great at every position AND pay a QB. Look at the Saints, Packers, Patriots even the Chiefs in recent years, all have had obvious roster flaws. Welcome to the reality of being a SuperBowl contender
  5. Is he an upgrade? Really? He was terrible last season. I'd rather pay for a clear upgrade, and a long term one at that which Smith is vs Ertz who still leaves you needing to fix the position and sign a starting TE I struggle to see how anyone who watched him last season can disagree.
  6. Why? He was basically competing with AJ Brown for the strong middle of the field receiving role. You can trust Beane and still think an Ertz signing is a terrible idea.
  7. I don't really think it was. Neither have been great since they left
  8. Really sad news. For a lot of overseas fans, podcasts are a route into the sport and make it accessible. The Around the NFL guys have been at the forefront of the NFL growth in the UK with their visits and appearances on UK TV. I thought Rich Eisen's and Colleen Wolfe's tributes on TV on Sunday were really classy done.
  9. To sign existing talent. They need the cap space with Allen's and Edmunds' contracts coming up and both starting safeties near contract end On Madden? Maybe On Planet Earth? Doubtful
  10. Makes no sense. The reason you cut Brown is to free up essential space.
  11. It's likely his last chance at a big pay day. Someone would offer huge money as a decent OT
  12. I'm not saying he isn't, but he has a lot to prove in the NFL. His 1st season was mixed. Even Trent Richardson looked good for 1 season
  13. Behind arguably the best O line in football he had a worse yards per attempt than Ronald Jones.
  14. Did it? He was pretty terrible for half the season, certainly didn't live up to the hype
  15. Big no. In a cap challenge the last thing we should be doing is paying a free agent running back. Draft someone or sign a UDFA if you want another RB. Singletary, Moss and Williams is fine.
  16. Yes. I suspect to help manage the cap that his return will equal a cut for someone else Williams took a prove it deal, he's proven it and now will go and get paid elsewhere.
  17. It'd be crazy to get rid of Feliciano. He is a solid NFL starter at 3 positions, and wouldn't be crazy money. 2 inexperienced guards in Boettger and Ford is a recipe for disaster especially if we lose Williams to a big money RT contract They have invested in Special Teams for a reason, it was terrible. Now it's good. They aren't suddenly going to then get rid of one of the core players.
  18. Seems to be basically an easy way to try him out as a replacement for Yeldon, whilst giving yourself cover.
