  1. Do announcers call Darnold Sam? Are there a bunch of headlines about Sam? Just stop, man. ? Just admit that it's abnormal.
  2. Right, but if a headline uses a name, it is the surname 99% of the time. Using "Baker" would typically refer to someone with the surname Baker, which would be far less identifiable than "Mayfield." Using "Mayfield" leaves no doubt about who is being referenced, unless I'm forgetting other Mayfields.
  3. Good. Now the Bills will get a chance to see that they'd be better without McCoy. Murphy and Ivory will hit the holes. Just watch...
  4. It is not on the same level. There are HEADLINES reading "Baker" instead of "Mayfield." I can see that with LeBron because that is an easier identifier than "James," but it seems like "Mayfield" would be the better identifier since "Baker" is such a common name. It's very odd.
  5. Why do so many people call Mayfield "Baker"? Seriously, why is this a thing?
  6. Seriously, yeah, what is the reason for that rule within 2 minutes? Why the difference?
  7. What does "or bust" even mean? Stainless steel straws or bust... What does that mean? And wouldn't busting be better than dying? So why is dying the first option and busting the second option? ??
  8. Give me a break. Hundreds of thousands of dollars a year should be enough for anyone. Come on. It's absolutely insulting to suggest that the pension is inadequate.
  9. The fact that they have the stones to say the pension isn't good shows how spoiled they are. Shows they have no idea how the real world works. Unreal.
  10. "Or bust", which is somehow pronounced like a cross between "best" and "bast" but definitely not "bust"
  11. If I hear those stupid women talk about stainless steel straws one more time I'm going to snap.
  12. Charlie the Butcher's (main location) was awful. The beef was room temperature, the bun had almost no caraway seed, and the sandwich was served without au jus on the side. Flabbergasted. MUCH better beef on weck at Duff's in Depew last month.
  13. 260 It's going to suck balls, no doubt. It's 4.5 hours one way. Yessir, with the exception of the Monday night game
  14. Apologies if I missed the thread, but I don't see one. My prediction of a 34-6 Bills' loss last week turned out to be overly generous. Unless/until the Bills prove me wrong, I will continue to pick them to lose big. The most important positions in the NFL are offensive line, defensive line, and quarterback, and the Bills are the worst in the league at all three. Three predictions for this week: 1. The Bills' thin secondary will have no answer for Philip Rivers. Again, an absent pass rush and soft coverage will leave the middle of the field wide open for the Chargers to exploit all day. It will look easy. 2. Despite missing Joey Bosa, the Chargers will harass Josh Allen into a minimum of two turnovers. Allen will also throw one or two directly to LA defenders, but the unusual zip on the ball will result in the INTs being dropped. 3. The fans—I will be one of them—will be rowdy for the Bills' home opener, but it won't matter as the game will be out of hand by halftime and all the talk of home-field advantage will fly out the window before you've even finished your first order of Pizza Logs. Result: Chargers 41, Bills 7
  15. Do you think it would be a nightmare to get into after the game?
  16. Quick question. I have two season tickets this year and will be coming to Buffalo and back down to Maryland same-day each week. I'm pretty much bringing a new person with me to each game, and most of them have never been to Buffalo. Is there anywhere decent we can go after the game for traditional Buffalo fare (you know, wings and weck) without TOO much of a delay? Appreciate any insight.
  17. Why are so many home teams wearing white this year? I don't like this at all. Bills always suck in this outfit. It's submissive.
  18. Another thing that bothered me is he said the roster is much better now than when he inherited it. I think that's clearly false.
  19. It is only Year 2 of McDermott and I want to punch myself in the face every time he says this -- multiple times when discussing every game. It's his universal way of saying that a player sucked -- without actually saying it. Other complaints about McD press conferences: Why doesn't the Buffalo media collectively grow a pair and ask him some tough, direct questions? Frustrate him. Make him uncomfortable. I think they're too worried about their ongoing relationship with him, so they don't ask questions like: * Coach, why are receivers consistently wide open in the middle of the field? What are you going to do to fix it? * Why didn't you put Josh Allen in for a Hail Mary from the 45 on the last play of the half? Why? * Why did you run a draw play on the final play of the game instead of letting Josh Allen throw the ball to the end zone? * Explain why you punted after the game was already lost and you were in four-down territory. * Explain how Kyle Williams helps your defense ON THE FIELD. * Nathan Peterman is the only quarterback in NFL history to throw five interceptions in a half. Also, the Ravens for the first time in franchise history held their opponent (you) to zero first downs in the first half. Don't you think that tells you something about Peterman? The media dances around every question and has this disgusting air of unearned respect/borderline sympathy. Ask the fu*king questions the fans want the answers to.
