I'm sorry, but that's just not how it works. Again, I am referring ONLY to defensive ranking in terms of yards allowed. The Bills may well be a better defense next year in terms of points allowed or other measures, but they will not be the "#1 defense" because this is based on yards. It never works this way in the NFL. When you have a great offense, you typically have a middle-of-the-road defense statistically. Again, the Bills do have a great defense. That is not at argument.

Miller, Groy, and Mills are all free agents. It would be embarrassing to re-sign any of them. Bodine will probably return as starter, and Ducasse is still under contract and will likely stick around for depth. We'll need a starting RG and C as well as a backup C and swing tackle.

Watch people cite this during the offseason, expecting a repeat performance next year. Those folks will be surprised when the standings are worse next year. The Bills are the number one defense because teams have let off the gas so much in second halves.

Peterman can't be cut now, because he is the backup. After this game, when we will likely have four healthy QBs -- it would seem that Peterman would have to be cut. Unless, of course, Barkley shows worse than Peterman today.

Whatever we get, we need to make sure that we don't end up with terrible splotchy turf like is somehow already evident in Dallas. St. Louis was terrible. Detroit is bad. What causes those awful discolorations? Makes the turf just look so fake compared to, for example, the turf in Buffalo.

Sometimes I wonder if people go back and actually watch for the story of the game. Without a couple of unlucky bounces, the Bills would've had a 23-20 lead with about 5 minutes to play.
