  1. Have you watched the games? Mahomes has nothing to prove. But he's been pedestrian this season.
  2. I'm pulling for Tua. Not the Phins (of course) - but I'm pulling for Tua.
  3. Can we just appreciate how great it feels to go into almost every single Sunday expecting to win? For the young 'uns - it was not always this way. For too long.
  4. I remember fans were so panicky after he had a couple of splashy plays in the opener. The trade & the picks can't be fully evaluated for 2-3 years. But give me Coleman all day, every day.
  5. I guess "lost a step" is the new hip phrase for "playing insanely well." Kind of like when people used "bad" to actually mean "good."
  6. We're getting hit w/ injuries - but at least nothing season-ending so far. The key for us is finally getting to the playoffs in relatively good shape.
  7. Reid is a fantastic coach. He had McNabb, and dominated the NFC during many of those years. Not that McNabb was a bad QB, but I wouldn't call him elite. I'm not sure if he plans to retire - but it would be very interesting to see how the mighty Mahomes looks if he does retire. No one will ever convince me that Allen wouldn't have at least a couple of rings with Reid or someone at his level as his coach.
  8. I agree that Cooper is often inconsistent, and also agree that he's the best for us. The thing w/ Cooper is that regardless of consistency, he changes the defense's focus & strategy. I think we already saw some of the results of that on Sunday - he opens things up for Coleman, Shakir & others.
  9. What's a crowd supposed to yell when Hopkins gets a catch? Nothing like "Cooooooooooooop!!!" Cooper all day;
  10. Nope. Henry looks great - but he's old for a RB, and the mileage is likely to catch up with him by January.
  11. His #'s are way down this year. I'm definitely curious if that was a product of where he was, or if he's just getting old. Good move for the Chiefs either way. They needed a receiver.
  12. You don't get the idea that a SB is a team accomplishment? Really?
  13. He's really emerging as a legit threat on this offense. He keeps getting better w/ each game, which is what you want w/ rookies. All of a sudden, our WR room looks really solid - Cooper, Shakir & Coleman are a really good top 3.
  14. The Jets are really a woeful organization. I didn't think Saleh was necessarily a great or good coach, but he has had some bad circumstances & firing him when they did was ridiculous (imo). I mean, how'd that work out for them? Their season is pretty close to over at this point. They just seem in complete disarray. I actually feel bad for their fans - but not the franchise or ownership.
  15. Watching some highlights - I have no idea how Codrington stayed on his feet during the kick-off return that started our 1st scoring drive. The player on the coverage team picked him up and spun him around, and he just landed on his feet and kept going. Incredible balance. And that return really gave us a spark when we needed it.
  16. I had to travel yesterday, so only watched the 1st half. I was pretty bummed about how we looked, and was thinking that I was overrating this team in my own head & that they were pretty average (at best). It's crazy that it was 10-7 at the half, and we ended up winning 34-10. That's as dramatic as turnarounds get. One thing that I have to credit the coaching staff with - they make good halftime adjustments. We've really seen this all season, where we can look pretty bad in the 1st half and then come out looking like a different team in the 2nd.
  17. They used to blow teams out. They don't anymore. This is their least scary year, imo.
  18. Thanks. Emotion got the best of me.
  19. They are. They are better run & better coached. I don't think that's disputable.
  20. When are football fans going to understand: football is a TEAM GAME. In fact, there are 53 players on each team, as well as coaches. All contribute to a team's success and failure. Here we have KC at 6-0, and Buffalo at 5-2. Allen has 15 TD's and no INT's. Patrick Mahomes LEADS THE LEAGUE IN INT's. And people will still say "Mahomes wins more than Allen," as though we're talking about tennis or golf. Clearly, Mahomes has the best coaching in the league - and they're proving that by an undefeated season when they have lost their top 2 WR's and top RB, and w/ their QB having a fairly pedestrian season. Allen often has to actually overcome some of his team's coaching blunders. It's rare that coaching helps him out & wins a game even when he's not at his best. That happens quite a bit w/ Mahomes.
  21. 6-0, but not passing the eye test. San Fran had Kittle left from their starting weapons today, and KC still needed Purdy to hand the game to them. We're a better team this year.
  22. We'll probably beat them. Not that beating KC in the regular gives me much excitement anymore - but they have a pretty flawed team.
  23. SF fans have to be so disappointed w/ Aiyuk. He gets all that money, and plays like a #4.
  24. I'm still a noon to midnight guy on Sundays - but it's not as fun as it used to be. There just aren't as many interesting games; I'm not sure if that's because some rivalries like Pats/Colts or Cowboys/Giants are over and haven't really been replaced, or if the quality is down. The only games I'm really invested in are our games, and sometimes KC if they're in a close game. The Ravens a little because they are probably the biggest AFC competition this year. Not really anything in the NFC.
