  1. Spot on. There is a psychological factor at work when one team has dominated a division for so long. Ironically, the most apt comparison is the Yankees & Red Sox. The Red Sox had to overcome that psychological hurdle - which was much worse given the near-century time of ownership by the Yankees. They did it in dramatic fashion, which I wouldn't mind - but I'd prefer just blowing the Pats out twice and winning the division easily. We have the best team, and it's not that close.
  2. I'd be shocked if he didn't issue a statement soon - but I agree. We've all made stupid mistakes. The key is understanding what you done, and who you've let down, and owning up to all of it. Sometimes, it's those low moments that bring out the best in a person. Here's hoping.
  3. First 4 games are probably the easiest part of our schedule. Just thinking practically. Though, it could be more than 4 games.
  4. C'mon, Ed. Hopefully, lesson learned. As long as he's back for the Pats games.
  5. I'm ALL IN on Allen. I've seen enough to know that he will keep working & improving. He's one of those guys who may not quite make top 10 in stats, but will always find ways to win games. I think he's our guy throughout the 2020's and beyond. This year will tell us a lot more, obviously. They've given him everything a QB needs to succeed - this is the best WR corps we've had since Moulds/Price. Stoked. We waited 2 decades, but we're finally there. Now, if we could just get past this l'il virus thing...
  6. Maybe I'm a homer. I go to some rival boards, and they completely dismiss Allen. They say we'll never be good while he's QB. I feel like I live in a different reality. 6-1 to close out 2018, leading us to the playoffs last year. Playing his best in the primetime games (Dallas, Pitt). He even led us to a winning FG position in that playoff game, before that phantom call on Ford. Guy's a winner, period. I could care less about stats. And the latter will improve immensely with a corps of Diggs, Brown & Beasley. I love, love, love that Pats fans are hyping Stidham and still think they could have the best QB in the division. I remember that kind of wishful thinking from all the way back into the Todd Collins days. Allen is going to keep the Bills on top for a long time - the wait is over.
  7. Are we still debating this? He's a Patriot. He's the worst.
  8. Yeah - that was a good one. Thoroughly enjoyable. Still a pretty bad heartbreak to joy ratio, but it's somethin'.
  9. Same. I used to hate, hate, hate the Dolphins. Seems so quaint now. One of the worst things about the Pats domination is that I've found myself rooting for the Phins & Jets over the years. It's like we're all frat brothers who went through the same hazing now or something. I miss when the AFCE was a division of fierce rivalries top to bottom. Maybe we can get back there. Preferably w/ the Pats on the bottom.
  10. Man, no one should dominate a team for as long as the Pats have the Bills. They just showed a quick clip of that Lawyer Malloy game. That was literally a lifetime ago. I've done a gazillion things since then. This hasn't been a healthy experience, sports fandom-wise.
  11. Is there any repeat they could show that isn't some sort of heartbreak? Even the blowout of the Raiders in the AFCCG would remind me that we lost the SB. It bums me out how much I believed in Edwards at this point in time.
  12. I have immense respect for the man. But his job is healthcare. There are quite a few other aspects to this entire thing. And, he clearly doesn't understand that we've waited 20 years for a Brady-less division foe, and a team that can really contend.
  13. I was going to rewatch that one, but decided to give myself about 50 paper cuts instead....
  14. I as in a bar in Boston, of all places. What a team that was.
  15. Kelly Thomas Bruce Smith Andy Dalton
  16. It will be weird, whatever it looks like, but I'd bet we get used to it pretty quick. People are starved for sports already. I know it's the least of the world's problems, but I can't believe we wait 2 decades for Brady to leave & to be legit favorites for the division, and this happens. I feel like the universe owes me 2 blowout wins against the Pats, with the 2nd coming on MNF to wrap up the AFCE title.
  17. I'm not crying. You're crying. We hardly knew ye...
  18. Jordan reminds me so much of Brady. They both have that really psycho determination to win, and they both relish having the ball when all of the pressure is on. Extremely rare, imo. Like Brady, I did not appreciate Jordan while he was playing. Being a Knicks fan, I spent most of his career downplaying how good he was. It's more fun to look back on it now and really be able to take it in without any vested interest. Maybe it will be like that w/ Brady some day, but I'm probably too old at this point for enough time to go by to get to that point. More scars w/ Brady, too. Good doc, though. I agree that it jumps around a bit too much (I can't see what they're trying to do w/ that), but it has some fun "backstage" kind of footage that gives you more of a sense of who the guy was/is.
  19. The Pats have broken the rest of the league like a horse. Brady is gone. The monster in the closet has moved out. Yeah, there is still BB, but he's already outsmarting himself with over-cute drafting & putting his faith in a guy who has 4 professional passes that include a pick 6. The Patriots are done. They will finish 3rd in the AFCE, at best - possibly 4th. And it will be that way for awhile.
  20. First time I've checked this thread. I was on one of the Pats boards, and there were about 3 out of 50 posters who offered even an "R.I.P." Most of the comments were the among the most bitter, petty & insensitive that I've seen. No reason for the comment, other than to provide even more proof that Bills fans are friggin' awesome, and Pats fans are lower than dirt. R.I.P. coach Shula.
  21. I don't have them much, but man, do I love a good po boy (fried oyster). Nothing like a good Italian sub, also.
  22. He's following the GOAT - and he ain't Young or Rodgers. The pressure will be too much, no matter what his skills. That fanbase has won & seen their QB play mistake-free, clutch football for way too long. I can hear the boos already. And there probably won't even be crowds.
  23. On one of the Pats boards, they had a “what is your favorite SB win” thread. What different realities. 2002 - Bledsoe’s first year. I was so excited to get him, and he had Moulds and Price to throw to. That was a good team.
